First time in Poway, came here to get dinner before we headed to our airbnb and this place was good. The koobideh was so good, it reminded me of my dad's kebabs! It definitely was nostalgic. I wasn't a big fan of the rice though. Not saying it was bad but it didn't taste authentic to basmati that I would usually eat with koobideh. The place was pretty clean and the menu is pretty standard and straightforward. I think the owner came out and gave us some baklava, which was so nice! I LOVE their Salmon Kabob!! Been here twice now and the Salmon is cooked just right. It is moist, juicy and oh so tasty. Marinated in citrus, saffron and herbs, it is very flavorful! The salmon kabob plate also comes with Basmati rice, salad and a grilled tomato. My hubby has so far gotten the special of the day which has been a Monday special and the Thursday special since those were the days we went there. We also ordered an Eggplant appetizer called Kashk Bademjan. Everything was tasty and flavorful! Went to Namino with my work team. One of them said he wanted something good. I had heard about this place from a couple of my friends who tried the original restaurant and loved it. Parking was easy as it is in a large shopping center. We all ordered kind of in a line and then everything came out all at once. It was pretty surprising. I loved my food. But there was too much rice. I would have loved less rice and some dolmas or hummus. I really enjoyed the salad and roasted tomato. The best and funniest part of the meal was when he brought out some charred jalapeños. My coworker ate one, his face turned bright red and the jokes started pouring in. Very funny. Namino. Have eaten here twice now for date night w husband and family night w adult kids. Have tried the Monday night special ( a rice and chicken Persian casserole) and the chicken kabobs and both were excellent. Son said beef kabob was also good. Decor is lacking, service is gracious but can be slow if it's a busy night, and you have to ask for water, which comes bottled (for free) rather than in a glass from the tap. For our family meal, we were goven 2 extra dishes for free: a cumin and cinnamon spiced rice and green bean dish, and a tomato/cucumber salad relish, both of which were very tasty. We also paid for the olive appetizer but that was not to my liking. It's a walnut and pomegranate molasses sweet mash mixed w green olives. I prefer my olives not sweetened and the mash was unappetizing looking. We are looking forward to trying the fesenjoon special on a future Tuesday though. If you have a hankering for a daily special not on the main menu, they sometimes have it available if you ask. Faiz, the counter boy was not what you want to greet your first time customers, who were personally invited by Amir to dine in his restaurant. I asked a few questions and instantly he was exhausted and irritated. He refused to explain the flavors or spices on the dishes. The food was...okay. we ordered it to go - the salad was a few bits of lettuce and some weird french dressing with unidentified herbs.We also ordered the beef kabobs. They smelled good but there was no flavor and the texture was very rubbery...The rice was extremely dry with no flavor. Faiz completely dismissed me asking for Amir. Faiz braggingly told me he would also give me a discount off the bill. He gave me 1 dollar off...?? That in itself was an insult. First experience and it was an epic fail! read more

The chicken kabob was out of this world!!! So tender, juicy, and flavorful. Here's a pro tip on how to eat Persian kabob. Take the char grilled tomato and mash it up on the rice, add some sumac powder and mix together and enjoy with the perfectly grilled chicken or beef. Can't wait to come back and try their daily specials. By far best quality Persian food in the Poway, RB, PQ, Mira Mesa area. The owner / head chef came out to greet us. They had hot tea available. I came here because the reviews were good. The Meat quality is connective tissue and the rice is just plain jasmine rice. Very bland. Meat is flavorful if you can eat it and the portions are good but its not super enjoyable to eat. I paid $40 for a very bland meal that was hard to chew/eat. And charged us $1 for water, which he brought to us once we sat down. We went there just because Bakery & Grill is closed at the time and saw the good review. Probably one of the my top 5 best food places in Poway. We ordered the beef koobideh kabob and the chicken kabob . The kabobs were so flavorful and juicy! We liked them better than Baba's kabobs. Price-wise it's on the higher end, but we will definitely be coming back! read more

Wonderful food! The chicken kabobs are flavorful and moist and came with saffron rice, grilled tomatoes, and a side salad which was fresh with just enough of the delicious dressing.
