Went to Namino with my work team. One of them said he wanted something good. I had heard about this place from a couple of my friends who tried the original restaurant and loved it. Parking was easy as it is in a large shopping center. We all ordered kind of in a line and then everything came out all at once. It was pretty surprising. I loved my food. But there was too much rice. I would have loved less rice and some dolmas or hummus. I really enjoyed the salad and roasted tomato. The best and funniest part of the meal was when he brought out some charred jalapeños. My coworker ate one, his face turned bright red and the jokes started pouring in. Very funny. Namino. Thank you for a nice meal and good time.

The beef kabob. Weird rubbery texture and no flavor. Rice was dry...not worth $16.00

Faiz, the counter boy was not what you want to greet your first time customers, who were personally invited by Amir to dine in his restaurant. I asked a few questions and instantly he was exhausted and irritated. He refused to explain the flavors or spices on the dishes. The food was...okay. we ordered it to go - the salad was a few bits of lettuce and some weird french dressing with unidentified herbs. We also ordered the beef kabobs. They smelled good but there was no flavor and the texture was very rubbery...The rice was extremely dry with no flavor. Faiz completely dismissed me asking for Amir. Faiz braggingly told me he would also give me a discount off the bill. He gave me 1 dollar off...?? That in itself was an insult. First experience and it was an epic fail!

Juicy flavorful and super tender chicken kabob.

The chicken kabob was out of this world!!! So tender, juicy, and flavorful. Here's a pro tip on how to eat Persian kabob. Take the char grilled tomato and mash it up on the rice, add some sumac powder and mix together and enjoy with the perfectly grilled chicken or beef. Can't wait to come back and try their daily specials. By far best quality Persian food in the Poway, RB, PQ, Mira Mesa area. The owner / head chef came out to greet us. They had hot tea available. Place was pretty empty when we got there but they've only been open for like a week. Beyond excited we have such good Persian in the area now.

Found another gem. And its so close to home. Easy to find and lots of parking. I suggest come soon before they realize they can charge more for their yummy cuisine.

Tasty daily special (tahchin) that I'm savoring hours later. Look forward to trying more. Highly recommend.

I got the Greek Combination plate to try two different meats. The whole plate was awesome!!! Gyro was very tasty. The salad was very good! Usually I'm skeptical about a salad when it comes to a plate but this was very good. The Serrano Tzatziki sauce he recommended was SO GOOD! Glad I finally gave this place a try. Forgot a pic because I was starving and it's all gone sorry :)

Inside the restaurant, there are plenty of seating and there is also outdoor seating. I ordered the Gyros Plate for takeout which came to $28. Evan was kind enough to provide an extra tzatziki sauce and utensils when I asked. One thing I found surprising was the 3.89% credit card fee so bringing cash would be a better option. The portion of the gyro meat was generous, but the pita bread and the rice portions felt a bit small by comparison. The gyro meat itself was very salty which lead me to reach for water throughout my meal. The rice pilaf was flavorful and ended up being my favorite part of the plate. Unfortunately, the Greek salad was dressed with too much vinaigrette making it soggy and slightly unpleasant to eat. The olives tasted old and had a bad aftertaste. The tzatziki sauce is also very watery. For the price of the meal and my experience, it didn't meet my expectations. The food quality felt short and I don't plan on returning. This will be my first and likely my last visit.

However, I also ordered the bottled carbonated doogh (a yogurt drink) and was given a bottle that said best by January 2025 even though I ate here May 6, 2025. I did ask for the bottle to be taken off my tab and the elderly gentleman who was serving us agreed, but also said "for yogurt this doesn't matter." I realize that best by dates and expiration dates are differently, but I expect a bit more from a restaurant. I personally would hesitate to return. I also found the TV blaring to be a little distracting.

Between my coworker and I, we got the Cucumber Dip, Falafel appetizer, Ash Reshteh Vegetable Soup and the Beef and Chicken Kabob Combo. I really enjoyed the Ash Reshteh soup. I have never had it before, but it was packed full of unique flavor that I could've eaten more than a cup of. The falafels were really good, but I was a bit disappointed by the hummus it came with since it was very bland to me. The cucumber dip was not the best for either my coworker or I. It honestly almost tasted like plain yogurt. The kabob combo would've been amazing if the meat wasn't so dry. That's the only complaint about it, but the flavor was really good. Could've just been a fluke. This place serves very authentic food with large portions, high quality ingredients and loads of flavor!
