The lumpia is still really good, but I feel like some of the flavor and food has changed, along with the portions. I like that they've expanded what they sell and they have a lot more in the market now. And they fry the lumpia to order, which is great. The milk fish that I got was pretty dry. The chicken adobo tastes different from what I remember and almost has a barbecue flavor, which I'm not a big fan of. The bibingka was really good -it's like a soft spongy pastry(?) that's sweet and salty, with chunks of salted egg, wrapped in a leaf.
We enjoyed our visit and meal. Mang has more options than I am used to, but if you do not eat pork, options become very limited. In our case, we enjoyed some pork dishes we had not tried before. Food had a very familiar taste, a sort of homecooked meal. It's not overly seasoned yet with good flavor, but the sauces are a little greasy. Prices were reasonable. For two 2 entree meals and 2 drinks, we paid $23 plus tip (tip optional) Service was excellent; all our questions were answered with a smile on their face, and we shared our cultural similarities and felt welcome. The place quickly got busy with people who seemed regular, and service was similar to ours; it made us feel even better. It might not be the best spot for a large family gathering, but it is perfect for pick-up or a quick meal. Pro Tip: call ahead and order your lumpia; they will fry it as you order it.
Wow! I'm so glad this place came up on my Yelp feed while in the area. The restaurant is in the cutest building, an old house with plenty of parking. The food is already cooked so you can choose what you want behind the glass. The chicken adobo was the BEST I've ever had in my life! Even better than my mom's. They must have made it fresh, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was simply divine. Soak it up with rice! BBQ skewers, menudo and calderetta were also clear winners. They also had meals-to-go in refrigerated containers to heat at home like palabok and sisig. Too bad it's about an hour drive but it would be worth it just for the flavors alone. FIVE stars!
Went there for lunch a couple of weeks ago. I always feel nervous about going to different spots idk why...so I walked in and they have a buffet setup with different dishes. You get 2 meats and rice. So I ordered the Adobe chicken and curry chicken. The curry chicken was seasoned very well and very balanced. Very tasty! The abobo chicken was a little sweet, you could taste it in the sauce. Overall a good lunch bargain by today's standards for$10.
Great food w flavor and love. Had purple spicy coconut pork. Nice. Bbq 2 doors down rocks too.
So delicious! I will be back! The skewer and pancit were amazing. Friendly service. Nice place.
The food was excellent and the lady was very helpful and assist me with ordering things that I had no clue what they were but just looking at them. She was telling me exactly what they were called. It's a super small family owned place so don't expect too much except super yummy Filipino food! I highly recommend this spot if you're ever near the Fort Washington area.
I visited on a Saturday around 3:30pm. From the moment I parked until after I finished my meal and left, the front door was consistently revolving with patrons, majority looked like regulars. There were quite a bit of Filipino families and individuals that ordered while I was there so if I had to rate the quality on authenticity, I'd say they nailed it. I told the young lady it was my first time visiting and I asked her what everything was and she was polite the entire time as she explained the dishes. The meals are served cafeteria style and some things are made to order such as the fried pork I wanted but the smallest size was 1lb. Since I was by myself I didn't want to bother but next time I'll bring someone or my kids so they can share. I decided on the platter which was $11+ and a desert $6+ bringing my total to $18 and change. The platter consisted of rice and two entrees. I wanted to get something I was familiar with (chicken adobo) and an unfamiliar dish (a sliced pork and pork sausage in sweet tomato base sauce). Both were very good. The sausage was flavorful and what I would think was homemade. The desert was different but reminded me of a soupy warm rice pudding as far as taste but more-so coconut flavor. There were pieces of plantain and what I thought was sweet potato but it wasn't as well as another item that was chewy almost like a dumpling. I would get the desert again. I dined outside at the single four chaired table on the front porch of the restaurant and was unbothered except for the occasional fly or two. I would definitely visit again to try more authentic Filipino eats. For visuals, visit @CultivatedKeyEats on TikTok and IG
Customer service was top notch! Pork steak, flavorful and melt in your mouth tender!!! Chicken BBQ (not pictured) didn't make it home. One star taken, as pancit was a tad dry.
Authentic Filipino eats-food and some of the best around in the DMV! Had some lunch here today. You pick out what you want from a cafeteria type set up. There are many options to choose from and all of your dishes come with rice. The restaurant has a very laid-back vibe and homey feel. There is indoor seating available for dining Inn as well as outdoor seating and what looks like a former home off of Livingston Road The food is very flavorful and most importantly, seasoned The pancit canton (filipino stir-fry noodles), barbecue on a stick, fried fish, dinuguan, menudo, and my favorite.....fresh lumpia transports me back to a trip I was able to experience in Manila years ago. They also have a market with packaged foods, refrigerated meals and grocery goods like chips, Asian/Filipino snacks, candy and baked goods like....steamed buns and ube cake to go. I grabbed an order of the frozen 7 Lumpia rolls to go to cook at home later this week during one of pretend to be Food Network "Next Top Chef" nights after work...lol. They offered them in a set of 7, 18 , and even larger. Both the chicken and pork lumpia options, are delicious! In all, this place is an outstanding family owned small business with a great selection of both prepared and grocery type . The dishes are authentic and very well prepared. The price point is great too and the servings are generous. I highly recommend you give this place a try when in the area. read more

Food: we had stopped by once before and I purchased some lechón which was good, not the best I've had but good. Today we tried their combo. Combo1: rice , sweet pork and beef. I really liked the pork and beef. They were both well seasoned and a on the sweet side , very rich. The rice was good. Def would try this again. Combo 2: rice, sausage and chicken adobo. I really liked the sausage again it was also on the sweet side but really yummy. Chicken adobo was rich and well seasoned not salty and I enjoyed the gravy. Dessert: Flan was actually good. I like mine a bit creamier but still a good flan. Service: we stopped by early like around noon and the girls behind the counter were very friendly and answered all our questions since it was our first time there. Ambiance : it's always chilled here. The building is like a small family house and it has that feel when you walk in. They have cozy seating areas if you want to eat in. Overall great experience. I'd return. read more
Food was better than most Filipino cafeteria style restaurants. Serious can my people raise the bar on this!?! Burmese, Thai, Indonesian, etc is similar and they do sit down and in some cases table clothed dinners. Instead every Filipino restaurant has this cafeteria style setting. Last sit down with a touch of class in Chelsea in NYC. It was called Manila and the food was excellent. Still Lumings had a good selection of food and eating with my Aunt, Dad and cousins they all agreed it was better than most. I had Caldereta De Vaca and Beefsteak. It was delicious. There Halo Halo was spot on as well. My only complaint is the food was warm. I prefer food to be served temp hot not warm but this is par for these kind of places. Service was good but the server assumed I spoke the tongue which I do not and have just low grade school level understanding of the language. No points offs for any of this. She switched to English and the ordering was made easier. What did make me take a point off was just the barrio style ambiance. Maybe clean up and spruce up the dinning area a bit. It is a mix of mismatched chairs and tables that needed a good wipe down. Serious I hate dining in Filipino places because barrio style seems acceptable. It is small so it would not take much $$$ to make it more welcoming and appealing to eat in. My review sounds negative but it is not meant to be. It is a critique of a visitor who just wants his people to raise the bar a tad. The food is good and service is nice, let's match the decor and this can be a nice place to eat. I highly recommend this place to take out for sure but dine in only if necessary. Ok read more
I actually stopped in here randomly with a friend after a kayaking trip and instantly knew this would be good. I tried the chicken skewers over rice and also had some of my friend's chicken adobo. Both were amazing. What was even more impressive was the price. Including a drink my meal was right near $10. It is really hard to find food like this for this price point nowadays. We ate inside and it had a nice vibe with plenty of room and a clean bathroom. If you happen to be in Ft. Washington, give this place a try! read more
Cute li'l Filipino family owned restaurant. An assortment of authentic dishes, although I'm no expert on the cuisine, everyone (other patrons) inside was Filipino and said the food was legit. I just know good food when see, taste and smell it, and this food satisfied all three senses. The two ladies behind the counter were very engaging and affable. Lots of smiling and laughing. Great personalities. One of them gave me a spoon to sample two dishes. The first was a slow roasted pork dish in a light brown gravy which is to die for. Reminds you of chicharrones only without the crispy outside. Very juicy and well seasoned. Not sure what's called but it's delicious. The other was a beef dish again in light brown sauce with bell peppers and onions. Having tasted both, I couldn't decide and went back and forth mentally to the point of even annoying myself. They don't offer a combo platter consisting of the two entrees, so I settled on a medium size of the pork which I will put over my own jasmine rice - since all they sell is plain white rice. The medium pork was $9. They have a $10 minimum purchase on credit card purchases which is kind of annoying because either you pay them in cash to avoid it, or you have to go for the upsell thing and buy a drink or something that you may not necessarily want. I paid in cash. I don't particularly care for minimum purchase requirements at any store or restaurant, anywhere. Overall this place is unique so I would come back the sample more Filipino cuisine. Getting whatever that stew beef dish is next time. read more
It was a pleasant surprise to hear about this restaurant and it's not to far from where I live. Friendly service. The restaurant has a parking lot and indoor seating. Everything we tried was good and their lumpia is made to order. It was fresh and hot. The pork lumpia was a little salty but still tasty. The empanadas were delivered to the store. They were hearty and even better warmed up. The dough is sweet. The chicken on the stick was teriyaki inspired but with no sauce. The turon was crunchy and sweet. I can't remember if they used plantains or bananas. The pancit was a good portion for a small order. read more

Holy moly! This place is just too good to be true. It's a small hole in the wall Filipino restaurant in Fort Washington. This was my first time at a Filipino restaurant so I was curious to know their cuisine. Thanks to their amazing staff for explaining their various dishes to me. I am glad that there was no one after me to order so I took extra time asking them some questions about their stew. They have a nice entree combo for $7.50. Two entrees and rice. So after almost 10 mins we decided to try chicken stew and spicy beef stew with potatoes and carrot for the first entree and for the second one we went all pork i.e. pork stew and sweet barbecue pork stew with rice. They have plenty of other meat and veggie options. For dessert we tried their creamy corn. It was delicious! Their portion is unbelievable! For that price, the quality and quantity is amazing! Definitely recommend this restaurant if your visiting this area or planning a trip to the outlet mall at the harbor. Totally worth it! read more
Finally had a chance to stop in at Lumings, and was not disappointed. Small shop here with a few seats and lots of dishes/desserts/baked goods for sale! We came on a weekend morning, so naturally went with a plate of garlic rice, longanisa and tocino (with an egg). Delicious, and a huge serving for $8 (+$1 for the egg). We also tried the pancit malabon which was tasty, the arroz caldo (a bit cold, but we took it home and warmed it up - delicious), two fried lumpia (again, delicious). I bought some maja blanca and a couple ensaymada's to go which were delicious. Wish this were a tad closer, but will keep this in mind and come when I need a quick and easy Filipino fix. Total was just over $20 for the food (not including dessert), and we were super full. read more
Ordered the following catering from Lumings for this past Thanksgiving. In general, everything was exceptional: delivery arrived on time, food was fresh and hot, and they included tons of sauces for all the dishes that needed it. Here's what we ordered, my favorites have an asterisk next to them (hehehe, I had a lot of favorites...) * Lechon Kawali* (pork belly) * Garlic Rice* * Pancit* (glass noodles) * Chicken BBQ* * Longganisa (blood sausage) * Lumpia Shanghai* (similar to egg rolls) * Mangos with Bagaoong* (shrimp paste) * Laing* (taro leaves stewed in coconut milk) * Steamed Bokchoy* * Suman* (this is a sweet rice dessert) FYI that the pictures include other items not from Lumings that we used to round out the feast, including the banana leaves, cucumber/tomato/onion mix, and pineapples. Absolutely everything else in the pictures - sauces included - is all magic from Lumings. I am Filipino-American and THRILLED to find such authentic, delicious food at such an affordable price point. Eat at Lumings - you won't regret it! read more
We had a great lunch here for 8 people. We all Got a variety of food. I really wanted dinaguan and crispy pata but they didn't have any ready. I opted for the fried rice with curry chicken and some green collard looking greens with coconut. They were both delicious! Very tasty and tender. Curry chicken had a lot of bones but very flavorful. Needed the rice to soak up all the gravy. My hubby got longinisa with fried rice and eggs. The eggs were a bit over cooked. The longinisa was savory. The staff looked like it was a family. Very nice and accommodating. Very sweet. We sat in the back room and one of the owners or staff gave us a complimentary bean curd fried roll to try. We also tried some pancit on his recommendation - very good. How nice! He confirmed there Was a large Filipino community in the area. Everything was authentic and the price was right!!! read more

This is definitely going to be one of my go-to places for Filipino food. Damn, I feel like I'm home. Legit Filipino food, friendly staff, hilarious conversations with the patrons and staff, Filipino music blasting from a phone, Filipinos singing along, and the restaurant is part of a house. I feel like I'm at a relative's house. The sinangag (garlic fried rice) is not as sticky as I'd like it to be, but it is perfectly cooked and the flavor is exactly as it's supposed to be. I can just eat that alone. The tocino wasn't too sweet like how others like it. It was sweet enough to where I didn't get diabetes. For those of you that don't know what tocino is, it's basically Filipino bacon, but thicker than American bacon and more meat-like. The pork bbq on a skewer is thinner than I'm used to but they got the sweet sauce and charred ends just right. The pancit was so perfect that I couldn't stop eating it. I want to eat more and more of it but I'm so damn full. The pancit here is made with thin noodles (I don't like the thick ones), celery, carrots, snow peas, and pieces of meat. However, mine only came with celery and carrots somehow with the heaping scoops of pancit they put on my plate, but that's how I like it! I also ordered the small, fried milkfish but I'm saving that for later. They have other entrees like menudo, laing, Bicol express, paksiw, munggo beans, pinakbet, and I think dinuguan. They have a small snacks section, desserts in a fridge, and soft drinks/coconut juice in the fridge as well. This place is across Public Storage (orange roofs). It's easy to miss if you've never been here before. Look for a house with a red roof. Also, roll down your windows when you're in the area and follow your nose. You can smell the Filipino bbq cooking as you approach and when you leave. read more
