I ordered a pickup via Uber, and the app said it was ready, but when I arrived, I was told to wait another 30 minutes. The food was cold, and half my order was missing. On top of that, the staff was rude. Very disappointing--I won't be back."

The potato salad I received on New Year's Eve was unacceptable. I tried calling but nobody picked up so I will try going by there. I did not serve so it was a waste of money. I will say the chicken is 10/10 but the potato salad was not it

This spot used to be my go to for their Fried Chicken, Breakfast Sandwich Croissants and Mint Lemonade. These items are pretty good, when prepared correctly. However, I can't say the same about the banana pudding. It seems like a teenage child trying to surprise their parent with a dessert dish.. We were fooled by how it looked. But truth be told, thats not the recent of the 1* Star review. The customer service is atrocious. To make it so bad I think the short guy was actually the owner/manager. He completely had a nasty attitude from the jump. We asked simple question about the menu so we could determine if we wanted chicken with sides and dessert or just chicken. He pointed to the menu, while smacking his teeth and some time grunt. He was like look at the menu.! I was stuck for second. I was like is he's being sassy with me and my wife. My wife wanted to know was the banana pudding made in house and he seemed offended or something. I mean we obviously know y'all didn't make the bean pies in house. Basically he didn't want to answer our questions, didn't want to give me a cup ice to go with my 2 Mint Lemonade drinks, barely gave me ranch dressing for the wings and just through my condiments in my bag when I had my hand out to receive them. Like I some good items on the menu that are my go to but I won't patronize no restaurant continuously even if I like some the items if you can't provide consistent customer service! Therefore, 1 * Star this time.

This place is in the Swan Creek shopping center. Went there yesterday for my good Friday fish. There was about a 20-minute wait after ordering because most everything is cooked to order. The fish are big and meaty. They cost about$11 with a side. And I ordered the chic peas and they were good. They were flavourful with a hint of mint and salt seasoning. In Monday and Tuesday they have a 10 piece chicken special. Good Mediterranean options as well!

Shrimp fajita grits and whiting with Mac/cheese were ordered. The service was great! Inside, there was a sign stating that they had recently painted so part of the lobby was blocked off with limited seating available to dine. The food was less than ok with the exception of the fish which my son said was excellent. It is not somewhere I'll visit in the future.

The fried chicken was overcooked. Chicken breasts were so dry they were uneditable For another gathering, I won't chance buying it again.

Got a combo of chicken kabob and shami kabob along with a side of their borani banjan/eggplant dish. The eggplant was honestly one of my favorite things- it's a must get in my opinion. Homey dish with incredible flavors! Their naan is fresh and pairs well with it. The chicken was good, but I've had better honestly. The shami was a little disappointing as I expected more flavor and it was slightly dry, but good. Their rice was so tasty and I loved the sweetness coming from the carrots an raisins. Of course, the sheeryakh was great- quite a big portion for one person, but I loved the texture. It tastes very similar to the Indian/South Asian/Pakistani ice cream, "Kulfi." CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK: Service needs improvement. The whole time I was there I had to keep looking for waiters to make eye contact with to ask for menu, water, paying, etc. It took about 10 min or more for me to have to call a busy waiter over just to look at the menu- no one came over on their own. Things just took time for a Saturday night- plus they were hosting an event on top of this. Needless to say, I've never had service like this, but the vibe and food made me be not as harsh. Despite the service, this place is a must try for authentic Afghan cuisine. Can't wait to try more of their menu (and the borani banjan again) in the future!

We were also a party of five but were only given one menu to share so not very convenient. I ordered the Chicken & Shami Kabob and it came with a choice of white or brown rice, one side, and naan. The meal looked nothing like the photo on the restaurant's website. The portion was overwhelmingly rice with very little meat. None of the garnishes shown in the picture were included on the rice. For $24 I expected a much better presentation and a more balanced portion. Oh and the meat was kind of dry. Parts of our order were missing, some dishes that came out were incorrect. The experience felt disorganized and the food didn't justify the price.

As for the food, I think it's a pretty decent afghan style kebab for the price and most of the food portions (except the sauce sides which are tiny, really skimping on them). My husband really likes the grilled lamb and chicken here, so that's why we order from this restaurant, as well the bread and rice. I've had afghani bread several times, I must say this one really competes with places like Lapis and Afghan Bistro McLean, it's truly impressive! I had the tilapia kebab, needed a little bit of salt but that issue was solved when I drizzled with the green sauce! The fish was cooked nicely, the "fishy/sandy" taste that usually tilapia has, was avoided!!!! Props to them! The rice was good as for the chickpeas (that we both ordered) these are a little bit too oily for my liking, but the spices on them were good. The side salad was kind of sad to see, not going to lie, afghani salads usually will be topped with chopped parsley and thinly sliced red onions, but I guess they put the onions on top the kebab so they want to skip them. Even though the restaurant is small and probably has 5 tables total, it's not the prettiest for a sit down restaurant, the purpose is more for a takeout situation which isvery convenient for us, since we live pretty close by, so we might be coming back.

High Protein, Strategic Eating…read more If you are navigating a serious health journey or, like me, currently in the middle of a "Biggest Loser" contest to start the year, Arlington Kabob is a strategic goldmine. Under normal circumstances, I would happily indulge in their fragrant basmati rice and that delicious, fresh-baked tandoori naan. However, staying disciplined requires a different approach, and the team here makes it effortless. The High-Protein Order Hack: I ordered the Chicken Shawarma platter but requested a total carb-swap. I asked to replace the rice and naan entirely with a double portion of vegetables. I went with the chickpeas (channa) and the sautéed spinach. The result is a nutrient-dense, high-protein win. The chicken is lean and perfectly charred, the chickpeas provide steady energy and fiber, and the spinach adds great flavor and micronutrients. The 50% Strategy: Even without the bread, these portions are significant. I ate exactly 50% of this platter for lunch, which provided an estimated 38g of protein and 450 calories. It is the perfect meal for someone who wants to feel satisfied but stay strictly within their caloric and macro goals. Community Inspiration: I have to give credit to local Northern Virginia foodie Mya Yoon. Her social media posts documenting her own health journey and "smart eating" choices inspired me to start looking at local menus through a more intentional lens. Following the modifications she shares online has been a game-changer for my own progress. Service & Vibe: The staff here deserves a specific mention. Despite my request to skip the core staples of their menu (rice and bread), they were helpful and happy to modify the order to meet my goals. It is rare to find a spot that is both a neighborhood staple for comfort food and a reliable partner in a weight-loss journey. Everything was delicious as always. If you are looking to stay on track without sacrificing quality or flavor, this is the place to do it.
