I would never eat here again. This is food health and safety concern. 1st parking is crazy in here. Barely any spots and teens just running around everywhere. 2nd the sushi was left out for gosh how long. I was 2 hr and I didn't see it removed or any new sushi coming out. The coconut shrimp barely had any sauce, making it mostly just fried shrimp. Selections were limited and not that good. Chicken would be overcooked and many selections were bland or just not worth eating. I do not understand why cups are disposable since it is cheaper to rewash. The first plate of food I had was ok it wasn't hot enough and most of it was super bland, I went to get a second plate of food and I got some sushi which had gone bad and was not edible. Just from walking in, I could tell there was a ton of food selection. My first dish was from the hibachi grill. This is where you gather your own ingredients and the cooks grill it for you. You can either wait there, or get other food to your table and come back. It takes about 5 minutes to cook everything. The buffet has a lot of options. They had a lot of seafood options here. Especially the shrimp. They had coconut shrimp, fried popcorn shrimp, lightly battered shrimp, steamed shrimp hot/cold... There was also a sushi section which I didn't try. They of course have a variety of other classic Chinese stir fry's like chicken, pork lo mein. Their dessert is also plentiful with a bunch of fruits, cakes, ice creams. Pre-pandemic, this was my family's favorite buffet. We live over an hour away and we would still drive there once a month. However, today's experience was simply disgusting and disappointing. With COVID still raging on, I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. They shut down their salad, fruit and dessert bar completely. Only the prepackaged ice cream is available. They also shut down a few hot lines. Extremely limited offerings. Now I understand, they have to cut costs due to the pandemic. But taking away so many choices is horrible. There is NO REASON you should have to pay full price, when the buffet is only 1/3 open. I wish I could say it was still worth it, but it wasn't. The waitress was extremely inattentive, despite very few people there. But the WORST thing is the lack of cleanliness. There is no reason, pandemic or no pandemic, not to wash drink pitchers. Came here on a Tuesday night with my boyfriend. Definitely a much better buffet than the one over by Iverson mall. Two dinners and one bottle soda was about $39. They do not have fountain drinks here only the bottles. Another weird thing is they give you paper cups with ice or ice water if you didn't get a drink. And a plastic fork. At least the plates were actual plates. Either way, it's the food that matters, and they do a good job. The coconut shrimp was by far my favorite item, and it was actually done right, not too soupy, and not overly breaded. A few other good items worth mentioning is the baked imitation crab dish, the fried fish, and the cheesy spinach. They had crabs on the buffet here as well, but I did not care for them here at all, not sure if they were overcooked or what. Overall, the food is okay, but it's pretty unsanitary. There were several plates that were clearly not clean. And the limited service that did exist in the restaurant was pretty poor, the server led us to the general area of our table and didn't even turn around to look at us and tell us which table we were sitting at and instead started talking to her friend... In regards to the food, I enjoyed a lot of the various meats, but they were admittedly cheap and very greasy. My only liked the chicken on a stick. For the record the parking lot at night is going to give you anxiety and you're you'll probably shout "pumpernickel" or "Jelly Bean" to other drivers. However; the anxiety and food related curse words will go away once you get inside. Although an occasional "holy guacamole" may slip out when you see the countless options to choose from. If you're going around dinner time expect to pay about $12 a person (dining in) without a drink. You'll be lead to a table and then the Flaming Grill Buffet is your oyster. Salad bar- Have it Dessert bar- Have it Novelty ice cream- Have it Mass quantities of sea food- Have it Fresh sushi- Have it Hibachi- Have it Silly American food- Have it Typical Chinese dishes- Have it This place really does have a lot of options. As a vegetarian my options were limited... but I was able to eat three pounds (or so it felt) of custom made hibachi. This is truely where we get our money's worth. This buffet, I suppose, is okay for $12 (in the DMV area) considering that the quality is pretty meh, but at least you get a wide variety of meh. It certainly hits a quick Chinese buffet fix. After reviewing the photos for this business and coming across the photo of the cockroach in someone's food, I reaffirmed my decision on eating here by telling myself that it's probably just a once in a while thing. I did not expect to be a victim myself on this fateful night.. hidden in the miniature tree branches of my broccoli floret was, alas, a dead maggot looking bug. This is a Chinese food buffet, if you're expecting more than that you're in the wrong place. With that said I was pleasantly surprised by the flashy decor of the place. It hasn't been open long and this shows through in the bright blue lights, un-smudged mirrors, and striking pillars within the building. That's about all that is good about Flaming Grill. Each plate I had was like Russian roulette. It was a 50/50 chance that it would be good and/or distinguishable. I didn't rely heavily on the food labels above the food as I saw a few liberties being taken with their names (were they guessing too if it was an egg roll or french fries?). Not to mention 80% of the food was dripping in grease or sauce. My excitement faded when I got up close and personal with the "sushi" bar. While it did have sushi---it was old frighteningly old (the avocado was brown and the rice was hard), and I had no idea what was what, or what it suppose to be, as there weren't any labels at all. There was a fresh hibachi style meat that you could have cooked for you. And I would've partook in that experience had the "fresh" meats available not been still stacked with the frozen paper separating them. And right next to a see-through top deep freezer showing where the meat was being taken from. This is a rookie mistake. The only saving grace about the Grill buffet was the snow crab legs (labeled as "Blue Crabs") of which I had 3 platefuls of, seeing as how I hadn't eaten anything else on the buffet. All in all, I would say don't waste your time. Stay home, order in your favorite Chinese delivery and splurge a little on something you usually don't get. Because everything at the buffet you've had before and more than likely have had it better. read more

The star of the show is the hibachi, where you pile up your choice of fresh veggies and raw meats and seafood for the chef to cook in front of you on the grill. The rest of the offerings are mostly deep-fried, swimming in butter, or a mayo/cream-based sauce. Entrance doors (glass) were soiled. No windex or other basic cleaning supplies used to maintain the place. Walking on the "carpet" felt like you were standing in grease. My shoes felt sticky just walking in the place. The price for the buffet itself seemed pretty fair. Pictures of the restaurant show many items that are not actually found on the buffet line, green beans for instance. No rangoons and no sweet and sour sauce. Most of their chicken tastes like it was cooked in fish oil although their teriyaki chicken on a stick was the best I've had in a while. Sushi selection was lacking and none of the food seemed to be labeled properly for any dish. The hibachi was decent, but you don't choose sauce only the ingredients. I was running an errand; hunger struck. I knew I wouldn't make it home without chewing off my arm. Being a traffic safety advocate, I mulled it over and decided that would be unsafe whilst driving. I paid about $14 for dinner and a bottomless soda. My eyes immediately drifted to the cakes on the desert bar-- these looked good and fresh. Not like petrified cake models. The fruit too looked quite juicy and fresh. What?! Okay so it's a small buffet, but the selection was pretty decent looking-- no Vegas like endless rows of food. But that's not a bad thing necessarily. There were the comfort food standbys, a Mongolian wok, Chinese food and soups, unappetizing sushi; salad, dessert, and ice cream bar- and a few hot bread options. Well I really liked what I had: salt shrimp was plump and savory. Sliced beef rib was yummy and tender. Mashed potatoes and creamed spinach all done right! Honey walnut fried shrimp was tasty as well. Zuccini was also really good. The sliced Chinese style bbq chicken was really delicious. Never made it to dessert because: Salt shrimp. I usually don't shy away from seafood at buffets, but the sushi looked a little dried out. Like they make it once a day and it lingers. Maybe it's good. I didn't want to roll the dice on that.
