Worst breakfast I've had in a long time! Wayyyy too expensive. Paid $50+ for 3 kids breakfasts and 2 adults. Pay the same for delicious Olive Garden dinner..... seriously disappointing. My chicken fried steak was hammered, barely edible, everything was salty and the gravy is nasty. How can you have such boo boo gravy when your primarily a breakfast place? Outstanding breakfast, sausage patties were excellent. Great service and atmosphere. Somewhat noisy do the amount of people waiting for a Saturday breakfast. Wanted something healthy and what I thought would be fast but took over half an hour and the order was incomplete. So my order of oatmeal must've been a little too much for the cook. The early bird special is pretty hard to beat considering you get a full meal and a little dessert for $6.99 before 5 PM. That's hard to do even at a fast food restaurant. This is an AMAZING restaurant especially for breakfast! The "skillets" are great--Santa Fe is mixture of eggs, sausage or bacon, green chilies, all scrambled together with a scoop of sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and green onions on top!! They have all the regular breakfast choices that are excellently prepared and can be ordered all day. Then there are the lunch and dinner choices--all good! You can get a great burger at 7:30 AM--almost anything off menu anytime. The best part--excellent waitresses who are so cordial and attentive--they are like friends after one visit, especially Kari, Norma, and Mary. My family and I are staying Redding for the evening, as we are headed to Oregon. So we decided to stop here for dinner since it was close to our hotel. I do not recommend ever eating here. I ordered a crispy chicken wrap and it was brought to me 3 different times incorrectly. They never came back to refill our drinks or see if we needed anything else. Once we were ready to leave they still insisted on charging us for my incorrect meal and when my husband asked for an itemized receipt, they didn't know how to print one out for him. I was really hoping to like this place. The big wooden carving of a lumberjack outside reminded me very much of the area I grew up. We went on a Sunday afternoon. The wait was normal for a Sunday, so no trouble there. However, once we were seated, the service was mindless and ackward, and the food was not tasty at all. I had a salad with some sort of beef (which was very fatty) and Peter had what looked like the same meat with some Potatoes and veggies. By far the worst experience I've had in Redding. My grandmother used to take me here all the time when I was a child so I decided to come back. The wait time wasn't too bad, and looking at the menu I was a little disappointed. Has there always been such little options? After 30 minutes of being there trying to decide between what to get, I decided on the chicken fried stake breakfast. Server was nice, however seemed irritated I was there for so long which I do understand. While waiting for my food, the same server was being very unprofessional throwing straw wrappers and napkins at the cooks (flirting?) I ignored it. Once my food did come it was surprisingly very bland and unappetizing, tasted like it was freezer burnt. Once again, ignored it as well and decided to eat it all. First time at this location and it was great. Everybody was so friendly and made us feel comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, came fast and was exactly what was ordered. Found out this is the original location and they really represented a great reputation. I noticed everyone was working hard and not standing around. Restaurant was clean too! We went in for lunch and my oh my was it delicious. 8 of us and we all got our food AT THE SAME TIME! Took less than 30 mins to get our food after ordering, mind you this is 8 plates, all with out own special requests. Kari was our waitress today. She was super nice, prompt, and dodnt let a cup go empty. One of our people ordered "dealer's choice" (she picked a meal for him) and it ended up being the perfect pick for him. This is the first time we've been to the Redding Lumberjacks and we were not disappointed. Just like the one in Susanville it was nice and clean, the food was great as was the service. Our only problem was trying to decide what to have because there were so many good choices. All of the summer salads looked great. My husband had one with grilled chicken and mushrooms that was yummy. I had a hot turkey sandwich that was delish. Our waitress Kati went out of her way to ensure that we were happy. Cashier forgot to put soup in bag and after arriving at my hotel i did not want to go back for it. Nothing special or desirable about the L&O meal, but the ribeye and mashed potatos were delicious. All four of us had different items. Pancakes fluffy and light, chicken fried steak huge and yummy. Sausage that will knock your socks off and the scramble my hubby had was downright fabulous , a statement that usally only comes out of hubby's mouth at our table. Fast service, good coffee and clean clean clean! Waitress's was there when needed came to table within two minutes of our food arriving to make sure it was great and to see if we needed anything else. asked if we wanted leftovers to go. Huge portions and unless your staving is far too much food to eat at once. Great value. Waitress was rewarded with $20 tip as when she found out we were traveling to Seattle she packed up the food and added napkins , forks, knives and a togo cup full of fresh hot coffee. Honestly, I didn't think the portions were that big. They were comparable to other breakfast places around here like Country Kitchen.
