Had dinner last night. The prime rib was excellent as was the meatloaf. Good service, great martini, right to the top of the glass and super cold. And as a bonus the clam chowder was really good. Couldn't be more pleased with the food or the service. Everything was spot on. read more

Wow - very disappointed with Mother's Day brunch today. The selection of food was limited to breakfast with a couple choices of meat. No side dishes for the meat. Essentially breakfast with turkey and roast beef. Limited desserts. For $29.75 per person, we expected brunch selections. We have been going to LuLu's buffet brunches on special occasions (Mother's Day, Thanksgiving,etc.) for a couple of years now. The food was always good, brunch selection was nice and the price was reasonable. We always made reservations and our table was comfortable for the size of our party. I don't think we will be going back. :( read more

I love this place. I had dinner in the dining room which is a little more peaceful than the coffee shop area. I like both but this time I wanted to eat in the dining room. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue dinner and it was delicious. The side was fettuccine with asparagus which was almost as good as the chicken. I like their breakfasts and they have a lot of choices. The waitresses are all really good, pleasant, and they have a good sense of humor. This is a good place to go and relax and shoot the breeze with my old fart buddies. All of us have solved all of the world's problems so we deserve to have a good meal. If you are out of town and passing through, this is the place you want to stop and have a great meal. Redding has a lot of good places to eat, and Lulu's is one of the best. read more

I have eaten here several times. This is seriously one of the best restaurants in Redding. Which is hard to say because there's not many good ones. But this is definitely one of them. I'm actually completely obsessed with their Cordon Bleu Burger I get it with Extra ham and bacon it's really good. Went to lulus to check out their breakfast. My son and I were very satisfied. I was happy to hear they hand cut and pound the chicken friend steak daily, many places just drop a frozen one in the frier. Cook made my sons pancake into a Mickey Mouse without us asking and that made his day. Prices were good. Service was super comfortable and friendly, reminded me of what I would imagine an old diner to be like. Deseray knew all her regulars and made us feel like we should be one too. Great job read more

So I will start off and say prior to Covid I went to Lulu's multiple times, one day after covid I took my mom because I just loved their food and it was my mom's first time. That visit was a disaster, the waitress was just not a fit waitress for us in particular as she ignored us, never asked if we needed drinks, we waited 20 mins during which time she took other orders from 3 tables before I just got irritated and I asked another waitress. The food order was finally taken and we waited another 20 mins hey what choice did we have we already ordered and we aren't one to order and walk out on an order finally it came to out table nasty it was not good food at all,because of that for about 8 months I did not go there. I went today Oct 11, let me tell you the food was absolutely amazing the woman who cooked the food let me just say she is a heck of a cook and the way she paired her veggies and sautéed with the garlic omg it was good. Second the waitress we had one lady when we first came in, but she was actually getting off and another girl was actually gonna be our waitress but that first waitress awesome, the second waitress let me say she kept a smile the whole time we were in that place she was so kind to nor only us but the other tables she was handling as well, she was outstanding when it came to our food and drinks and she was definitely the kind of waitress that people enjoy. Great job Lulu's you got my business back as a patron that is for sure, keep up that great work. read more

I walked in Lulu at random while trying to find a restaurant open for dinner on July 4th. The restaurant itself has a nice old-fashion setting and the waitress was very attentive. I ordered a NY steak which was served with a side of vegies that actually TASTED something (which is, I find, very rare in American restaurants). The string beans were cooked with some caramelized onions and other herbs and were delicious. The steak was obviously the center piece of the dish and was perfectly cooked, juicy and tasted great. I'm glad I stumbled into this place and would definitely go back if I ever stay in Redding again. read more

This place gets good reviews. That's why I chose to come and have prime rib. The food is so bad that I find myself writing this review instead of eating my food. 4 of us came. Two of us got prime rib and I asked for medium and was served well done. I asked for it to then be cooked to medium rare in hopes it would end up closer to medium. It came back medium well. Almost no pink. Steak is chewy. My girlfriend got the steak Diane. It was over cooked. Mashed potatoes are over heavy. I was told the cook had a long day. Like that's supposed to be an excuse to not know how to properly temp a steak. I used to be a chef so this is just unacceptable. First time I have ever been to this place, and I have lived here for 20 years. Don't pay attention to the location or the exterior. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. I had the 3 egg breakfast, with sourdough toast, sausage links, and hashbrowns. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the price was excellent. I heart Lulu's. My dad took me here all the time when I was a teenager and I was so excited to bring my own kiddo and husband back and found the SAME WAITRESS WORKING THERE! Food was perfect for a greasy spoon: generous portions, cooked just right and all seasoned perfectly. Out of all the diners we've been to in the US (and we've been to a lot living on both coasts and now in the South) we agree it's the best. They even made my toddler's pancake in the shape of Mickey Mouse AND decorated it with whipped cream. Down home and delicious, don't miss the homefries. read more

Went here after postings on facebook advertised visiting Dueling Pianos. They were quite possibly the worst Dueling Piano show I had ever seen. So, that doesn't bode well for the establishment who booked them. Plus, the show was in a convention room or something in the back and it was pretty awkward. There was a wedding party going on and I felt like I was intruding on a private party, although the bride & groom were very welcoming. I just felt like maybe they should have had a staff member back there. Sat at the bar after I couldn't take the show anymore... Bartender was SUPER busy and although he wasn't *that* slow, he wasn't overly friendly either, so I didn't really enjoy my time there. Again, at the bar, felt like I was intruding on a private party and I wasn't really welcome. On a good note, I tried their stuffed mushrooms and they were fantastic, so if I ever go back, it will be for dinner, not just drinks. read more

We found this place through Yelp while attempting to find a place to eat before we headed to the airport. We were not disappointed at all. My fiance ordered the Prime Rib and 3 eggs. I ordered the steak sandwich. My fiance and I were very impressed with the taste and quality of their food and service. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. I cannot say enough about this place. Whenever we visit Redding again, we will definately stop by this place again. read more

Had dinner at Lulu's Saturday 10/8. First, Sarah is an excellent server! Always remembers us and takes very good care of her customers. For anyone who's never been to Lulu's - this is a local's favorite in a bit of what some might consider a seedy part of town. There's a dining room area, which is where you want to eat if you're not into a vibrant and local bar scene, and there's a dining area in the bar where it's loud, fun and very festive. We like to eat in the bar it's a great place to people watch but I wouldn't recommend it for a "romantic" date it can get very loud. Our dinner almost didn't happen. There was a very {very} intoxicated guy at the bar who unfortunately had to make a hasty run for the bathroom to get sick. Normally I would have left, but the bartender and staff handled him immediately and as soon as he was able to leave the restroom they got him out of there. Both hubby and I had the prime rib with a side of fettuccini - prime rib, although very thinly cut, was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Lulu's is just a place you have to try. My favorites are the Steak Diane, the prime rib, and the Monte Cristo sandwich. read more

Just like some other people said who had found this place through Yelp - I am not sure who submitted good reviews, must be locals. In fact, when we sat down, a table next to us was in shock and started asking how on earth we ended up in that place because it's truly a **hole in the wall next to some very shady motels. Food was average I guess. Nothing spectacular, very bland just like other reviewers mentioned. Be prepared to pour a lot of salt and hot sauce on everything. No, we did not get food poisoning like many other reviews suggested so I guess that's good. The worst part was waiting for 30 min for the service for simple scrambled eggs and it wasn't that busy. All in all this is the case where Yelp reviews are very misleading as it often happens with small towns. read more

As good as it gets! It's been two years since my first review, and this place has grown on us. Most recently we discovered the raw oyster shooter. $2 each at the moment. It comes in a large whiskey shot glass with sauce. I've uploaded a photo of the shooter, and if you look carefully you will see the fresh, raw oyster wiggle. Ask for horse radish on the side. Reach for the Tabasco on the back of the table. Try not to order more than several or you may not have room for your meal, which of course should be a plate of fried oysters. OMG. Delicious. But then of course is the prime rib and the left over newspapers on the counter so I don't have to talk to my wife. I think I should stop writing at the moment. Not my first time here, but first time bringing my fiancée here for brunch. We were greeted almost immediately by both a hostess and the owner Richie. We got a seat right away and ordered two Bloody Marys and brunch. The drinks, and the food, were delicious. Ran out into the parking lot and accused our party of not paying without even bothering to check the table where they could have seen we had left the full amount and a very generous tip despite them messing up almost every aspect of our order. Was more than happy to just let the poor service go but that accusation was by and large a step to far. Went back in and demanded our tip back.
