5 star diner in Lima, OH! Cute decor inside, friendly waitresses, and good food. Portion sizes on point for a diner.

A small restaurant chain that knows its communities. I ordered the patty melt. It was probably a half-pound patty, properly grilled on the flat-top and served hot. I would have preferred more grilled onions ... Service is attentive and friendly. The dining room is not over-stuffed, so it is possible for customers and staff to move without any bump and grind. Dining room and restrooms are clean. Parking lot is a bit tight. Will I return? Absolutely, yes.

Lulu's Diner has been bookmarked to try for the last two years, and I finally got the chance to try. I love diner's and I especially love breakfast. I've heard this place does a great breakfast and has great eggs benedict. Those who told me this, were dead on correct! I came, I sat, and I ordered some eggs benedict one morning I was in the area. Service was quick and efficient, no complaints there. The place is small but comfortable. The eggs benedict were perfect, a little runny like i love it. Definitely will come back if I want some eggs benedict and don't feel like making them myself.

Corned beef hash breakfast. Added gravy and cheese to the home fries.

We are originally from Lima and LuLu's opened many years after we moved away. When we visited this weekend, our hotel had free breakfast but we knew we wanted something more satisfying. I'm glad we chose LuLu's! The hubs had the corned beef hash. I had the traditional classic breakfast. They offer many ways to customize your home fries, including adding cheese, gravy, peppers, or jalapeños. The classic breakfast has choice of egg type, choice of meat, and choice of bread. I asked for eggs over medium and crisp bacon and both were delivered. The white bread is thick and grilled with butter. I could've just ordered the bread and been happy! Service was speedy and friendly. My coffee cup and husband's Diet Pepsi were always full. We will definitely come back to LuLu's when we need breakfast in Lima again.

Western Omelet

Best breakfast / lunch in town! Every local I met recommended it, so I tried their breakfast. You have to try it for yourself

Delicious breakfast wonderful service and tons of food for a reasonable price. Will definitely be back

Banana pancakes

Got the banana pancakes with side of home fries. AMAZING pancakes!! Home fries were good but little salty for me. Coffee was good but light brew. But good. Husband got breakfast bowl. It was really good too. Definitely will be back when I'm town.

LuLu's special with gravy on the home fries. The toast is amazing!

The Met has a policy that your server gets to proudly wear a crown if their name is mentioned in a five star review. Love that policy!! Wear it proudly Ashely!! The Met is a unique building downtown Lima. It was built in the late 1880's and was originally home to the The Metropolitan Bank. It has since been morphed into a restaurant with very attractive original features. The wood floors and plaster ceilings...along with the attractive decor really enhance the dinning experience! The team here is very friendly, professional and welcoming. Ashley was outstanding. She hustled, knew her menu and had great recommendations. Ashley was very attentive and helped us enjoy the evening. I appreciated Liz stopping by and welcoming us. Liz shared lots of history and helped us appreciate the facility. The Met has a large food menu that has something for everyone. They have a large selection of beverages and specialty cocktails. All at reasonable prices. We started with a couple of Mule drinks. One was a designer St. Patrick's Day Mule and their specialty Met Mule. Both were very tasty, cool and refreshing . We started with the Focaccia bread appetizer. It had a lightly golden/chewing top with a soft and moist inside. Liz said that they make the bread fresh three times a day. The bread had a slight olive oil taste with a mild amount of Italian herbs. The soft whipped butter was a nice add. The side salad had lots of fresh spring greens. There was a few tasty tomatoes and lots of stronger tasting onions. The thin Parmesan cheese shreds were an excellent touch. The house ranch dressing was very smooth/light/creamy moderately thin with a mild ranch taste. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. The crust was thin and crispy. She really liked the ranch house made sauce and how it accented the meat toppings. I had the Met Meatloaf which had an outstanding meat flavor. The meat was made with Italian sausage which had a slightly spicy kick. It was moist and tender to go along the beefy taste. The smooth red sauce on top was slightly sweet & spicy. It accented the meat nicely. The mashed potatoes were real with lumps, eyes and minute peel pieces. Very smooth and delicious! The grilled asparagus had a slight crisp to go along with the tender stalk. Not much seasoning detected...just a nice olive oil taste. Overall a fantastic dinner experience. We sat street level and watched the pedestrians come & go while enjoying the decor of this unique facility! The menu is large and the food and drinks are outstanding. A special trip to The Met in downtown Lima is worth a try!

We arrived at 11:30 and left at 2. They were nice to let us linger. Everything we had was terrific. Soups are made in-house. I'm thinking most all things on the very large menu were probably very good. They seem to care about the details. We also shared some ice cream cookie sundae concoction that was 5*. Metered parking on the street and there was a free lot but it was full. Meters were $2 for two hours. Nice staff and there were no staff shortages! Lilly our server was perfect. If we pass through again we will stop in! The bar area is exquisite.

I started with a gummy bear cocktail, which was just like drinking a strawberry Jolly Rancher. Then my date & I were served toasted ravioli as our appetizer... they were perfect! Crispy on the outside, soft & tasy on the inside. The marinara complimented the ricotta and breaded pasta well. For my meal, I had some yummy fried shrimp with cocktail sauce. I was very pleased. My curly fried potato wedges (don't call them curly fries!) were crisp on the outside & soft inside. I really enjoyed them. My side of fruit & side salad with balsamic vinaigrette were fine, neither great nor terrible. My fiancé had some delicious chili, though it was cold when served. Out waitress obliged our request to reheat it & when it came back out, it was just right. The cornbread was moist, sweet, and "cakey." I'm from North Carolina &, let me just say, the cornbread was some of the best I've had in ages. The chicken sandwich was good. We ordered some cinnamon caramel pretzel bites (like cinnamon sugar balls) to go & I can attest that they didn't last long the next day when they were warmed up. Overall, this was a nice meal in a quaint Ohio downtown. Should we return to Lima, we'll stop in at 318 again!

So, since this place is Italian that makes Lobster Ravioli, taking her here was a no brainer. It is located in Lima's new entertainment district, Spring & Main. It is a beautiful location, theres plenty to do in this district thus making Casa Lu Al a good idea for a family outing or especially a date night. There is a long wait, just warning you. Probably a good idea to get reservations. We did not, and we waited 45 minutes. It is a large restaurant with multiple floors, but it gets a lot of business. That said, there was a prom event taking place the night we went, so that may have affected it. We were taken to our table, eventually, and sat down. Our waitress, Ania, quicklu took our appetizer order which was the spicy shrimp scampi boat. The name is no lie, theres some heat to the dish. It is not overwhelming, though, and is very flavorful. After our apps, my brother ordered the fettuccine carbonara, my mother ordered the Maine lobster ravioli newburg, while I made another appetizer my main course the la casa meatball skillet. We enjoyed our meal, just something felt missing in each of our dishes. None of us could put or name what was missing, but we felt like it needed perhaps a bit more flavor. Still we enjoyed it and we full by the end of it. We then decided to have the Cubano with sugar and salt as our after dinner drink. For those unfamiliar with it, this is NOT an alcoholic drink. A Cubano is a type of coffee. It is strong like an espresso but it is supposed to be sweet. Some Cubans, of which my ancestry is Cuban, add a pinch of salt to it, which enhances the flavor. We ordered it, and had to wait over 20 minutes. Seems only the manager knew how to work the espresso machine. We were disappointed getting it. It should be a pinch of salt, it felt like it was quite a lot and had no sugar. The ratio was completely off and was terrible. All in all, it was a positive experience. We were not averse to coming back.

My first impression? Dark! I arrived at noon:30 because a passing acquaintance mentioned Lombardo's having the best BPTS. The staff and regulars numbered five and were bantering about nothing at high decibel. I sat at the bar and grabbed a menu. It is a perfectly useful, simple, no-frills list of food and prices. The bartender/waitress was a tad slow to engage this newcomer, but finally got around to taking my order and delivering a glass of water. My second impression? Still dark. The BPTS arrived after the usual wait and was hot from the fryer. It comes with nothing, but the usual garnishes are available for an up-charge that seems a tad rich. $1 for a slice of winter tomato? Pass. $1 for a slice of cheese? Pass. $1 for a slice of onion? Pass. The bun was fresh and the pickle spear was beginning to trend from crisp and crunchy towards a hint of limp. I enjoyed the porky goodness and flashbacks to my childhood BPTS memories. Will I return? Probably. I hope that the kitchen will do breakfast-for-lunch. I am also curious about their hamburger ... $3.50, but the double hamburger is more than 2x the regular burger. What's with that?
