You walk in to see a counter with seating for four people, high back, swivel chairs. There's a…read morediner menu letter board up on the wall, yellow with age, announcing the flavors of milkshakes and ice cream. It's from the 60s and probably hasn't changed since they put it up 65 years ago. There's a whiteboard on the back wall with the special for the day written out. Bacon egg and cheese omelette or a sausage egg and cheese sandwich on toast. Five dollars. The kind of place with a few locals sitting at a booth having their morning coffee, one of the waitresses offering Jim the last donut because they know he will want it. He accepts it. This is, in my mind, a classic American small town diner. The kind of place I grew up, eating in my hometown of 500 people. It's not high cuisine, there's nothing fancy about the food although I did come across a few things I had never seen before on the menu. Fried mush. Meat grits specials, like the scuttle butt and the chili Bob. An age old, but perfected recipe of eggs, meat, cheese, and a starch either potatoes ( homefries) or toast. The coffee is weak and not much flavor to it but, to be honest, it's exactly what you would expect in a place like this and there's something comforting about that. Honest, simple food made day and a day out, catering to the local crowd and a few roadway, travelers like myself who happen to come across it. There's a certain charm and depth to places like this that have been lived in day and day out by the same people for decades. For those like up rounded, there's the nostalgia and connection to the many other people having the same experience day after day in communities across the United States. Forgive me if I wax nostalgia can get a little sentimental here, but this morning's dining experience definitely elicited that for me. I hope you can find your own version of this sometime today or in the near future.

They would bring the fries directly from the fryer, the malts were twisted way above the rim of the glass and the burgers were never disappointing. Prices creeped up but still worth their satisfying meal But lately, the hamburgers are cooked and sitting in the side of the grill in preparation of the rush hour and possible stragglers. They are dried out, cold and tasteless. The malts barely top the rim but the fries are still hot. I'm willing to wait for a freshly cooked hot tasty burger even if the price inched up. But when we are talking about going to the Kewpee for lunch, it's a flat no from me now. Allentown Kewpee does the same. Very disappointed. (2026)

This little restaurant has a really nice menu - sandwiches, salads, starters - or pizza and chicken wings. The service is fast and friendly. The food is excellent - quite a nice meal for 4 for about $40. The pizza crust is perfect. Crisp, charred crust and a very balanced topping to sauce to crust ratio. The chicken wings are tender, and perfectly fried. We selected 3 sauces (buffalo, honey mustard, ranch) - but if you dine in, you have all available at your table.

However, you might be better served driving a little further. Biggie's dinning room is full of local, state, college, and professional memorabilia. This is very interesting! During our visit we were the only customers for the 1pm lunch. The waitresses were OK...not really friendly or helpful. They just got the job done. Several times we helped ourselves to refills because it took all them to make our meals at once. We ordered fried pickles and mushrooms. The mushrooms were small and in pieces...and not very tasty. The pickle spears were actually pretty good. I had the wings (one of their specialties). They were good sized but covered in an off-the-shelf BBQ sauce - nothing special. The side salad was large and not bad. The macaroni salad was not good! The Italian sub and waffle fries were described as being sub-par and not real tasty. The Biggie burger was said to be good. Apparently the chicken wrap was pretty good. Next time I'd go for one of their other specialties - pizza. The prices weren't bad. Another interesting note is Biggie is located next to the railroad track. A train did come through and rattle the restaurant. Not too loud though.

Pizza is the main focus of the menu but they do have a nice variety of other menu choices. They also have daily specials such as half price appetizers on Mondays and $0.79 wings on Tuesdays. The bar seems to be staffed by only one person, but there might be more on busy days. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Pizza Lounge has a modern feel to it. It is bright and well lit. The stools are comfortable. The entire place is nice and clean. The food is also decent. Better than most larger hotels I have stayed at. The salads are large and don't skimp on the extras. Tuesday was a long and tiring day so I sat at the bar shortly after they opened. I ordered a Johnny Walker Black and 10 buffalo wings. They also offer their wings with BBQ, Hot BBQ, and a Honey Mustard flavor. The wings are plump, cooked well, and the sauce clings to wings. Mine were hot and tasty. The Johnny Walker was a nice addition for after the wings while I relaxed before heading back up to my room. It's nice to have someplace nice in the hotel to sit, relax, and have a good bite to eat. It beats going out, especially in this cold weather we are having right now.
