Lulu's Diner is a fantastic small chain located in Lima, OH. Great place to eat, my family especially loves coming to have some great breakfast. We came to this one recently because it was the closest to some errands we were doing. The place is a bit small, expect to wait a bit if you come on a weekend for breakfast. The staff, though works hard so it wont be a long time. As stated, the service is excellent, the wait staff is friendly. We absolutely love the food here, I especially love their Eggs Benedict! PROS: Very clean. Bright atmosphere, My French Toast was great. CONS: I only got one glass of water as the waitress was largely absent. Also, the food did take a good while to arrive. Granted, they were quite busy and seemed a bit short-staffed. I would definitely return the next time I am in Lima. read more

I'm a huge fan of Lulu's breakfast. I love so many different options that are always delicious. Their pancakes are huge and great leftover. The French toast and Monte Cristo sandwich are favorites. But the Lulu's Special (eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, & toast) is always a solid choice. I have mainly do carry out and whenever I pickup, the diner is crowded, which says it all. read more

I probably picked the worst time to check this place out. I went at 11 am on a Sunday. It was super busy and took a little bit to get a table. I found the place to be a bit cramped, especially since it was full. The service was okay. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and kept forgetting things. The food was okay but nothing like wowed me. We enjoy a good weekend breakfast. The hubs recommended we try a trip to LuLu's, in Lima and it didn't disappoint. You walk in to a very simple and clean dining room. There was one table available that needed bussed and within seconds of sitting down it was being cleaned. The staff were efficient and friendly. We got our black coffees and as daily coffee drinkers it takes a lot impress with a basic coffee. Well they did. There coffee is worth going back for on its own. Our meals were fast and hot even though they were at capacity our entire visit. LuLu's closes at 2:00; a true sign of a good, authentic diner. read more

Wow! I am a huge fan of this new Limaland restaurant. A little background.....I grew up in Lima, and I usually make the three hour trip to visit my parents on weekends. We always go out to eat at least once during my visit, and when they told me about Lulu's I was anxious to try it. However, every time we discussed going here no parking places were available. And after my 3 hour drive I didn't really feel like standing in line to wait for a table. So finally we did arrive at just the right time to find a parking place, and the line wasn't terribly long. I quickly found out why this place is always packed. The breakfasts are just amazing! Huge, really huge portions and excellent home style cooking. Omelettes, hash brown potatoes, french toast, pancakes and more, all fresh and genuine homestyle cooking. And the prices were cheap, to the point where I wondered if Lulu was even making any money. Between my parents and I, we had three huge plates of eggs, potatoes and really nice thick toast for $10.47?? Really?? Service was very good, especially considering how busy the place was. We will definitely return to try some more of the breakfast options. the lunch items looked interesting as well, but not until I work my way through all the breakfast options. The food was really good! The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. We paid 21$ for two meals and drinks, it is well worth it, the portions are huge. All the waitresses need to keep a better eye on the doors and greet customers more promptly, they lost a few angry customers while we were there. All in all a wonderful meal and we will return. Also Incase the owners read this, please consider replacing the styrofoam to go containers, they have a million year lifespan. A small paper or cardboard (pizza) boxes would suffice. read more

I don't understand why people rave about the food, ambiance, and service at this place. I went once and could not eat the food I was served because the place is absolutely filthy. Take one look in the kitchen and your stomach will churn. After trying to eat here a friend who delivers products there told me that when he goes back to pick up leftover products they are often filled with rat droppings, and on several occasions dead rats. This is the epitome of an American diner! Definitely a gem in Lima. We ordered biscuits and gravy, a ham and cheese omelet, sides of sausage links and bacon, and a strawberry waffle. We called in our take out order ahead of time, our total for all of that food was $26.85. We were able to pick up in 20 minutes. They are often crowded, so that seemed like the best idea. CONS: The waitress that took our order was not incredibly knowledgeable about food in general (i.e; the difference between a Belgian waffle and a regular waffle), but was knowledgeable about the menu. The sausage gravy could've had a bit more sausage. The omelet could've used a bit more cheese. We didn't care for the homefries, but mainly because we prefer hashbrowns overall. PROS: Everything was done and ready within the 20 minute timeframe, even though the restaurant was PACKED. The biscuits and gravy came with 2 biscuits which was perfect to share. The omelet was a good size and contained plenty ham. The sides of breakfast meat were perfect, there were 3 sausage links, and the bacon was thick and perfectly cooked. The Belgian waffle was AMAZING. It came with fresh strawberries and HOMEMADE whipped cream. The whipped cream was thick, flavorful, and creamy perfection. Even the toast was wonderful, it was thick and lightly toasted, buttered, and came with strawberry jam. They provided plastic utencils, napkins, as well as extra salt and pepper without being asked. Everything that should have been in a separate container was. As you can see there were definitely more pros! I would highly suggest ordering takeout, especially on the weekends because this place was PACKED when my husband picked up our order at 11am on a Saturday morning. The pick- up was a little confusing for a first time customer. There was a line of people waiting to be seated but no visible register or designated 'Pick Up' line. As I walked into the door of this establishment, I noticed my nose hairs crinkle as if I had Spidey senses. The air was peppered with the feint aroma of fecal matter. A gentleman did scurry from the bathroom to the exit, and perhaps may have been the culprit for the smell, but still, the stench lingered. I ordered the chicken and waffles, the chef in the kitchen chopped my chicken tenders into small bites, but I do not look like type of guy who would fail to take adequate sized bites and choke on my chicken. My compadre ordered the Rueben and received a club sandwich. Before the wait staff realized their mistake, the club sandwich returned to the kitchen one pickle shy of how it was delivered and he was met with in his words "a top 5" Rueben. This diner is on your way to Memorial Hospital from I75 and you could miss this gem of a diner if you don't look for it. I had the best steak and eggs I have ever had in A long time. The steak was a tasty NY strip and the secret is their home fries. I ordered mine with onions. These home fries are unique in that they are not dry, and conversely not greasy, just right. I was impressed with the flavor of their coffee and the fact that I could get my big hands in their handles. This diner knows good coffee and how to serve it. The service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean (especially the restrooms) and they were using a food thermometer to check the temperatures which made me feel even better about eating there. Large portions were served, food was done in the manner requested and the server was on point.
