I came about a month ago to Applebees because I was 1) Shopping nearby and my family and I were hungry 2) I was actually craving food like Applebees 3) I wanted alcohol Entering Applebees, we were quickly escorted to a table and immediately our drink orders were taken. We all ordered baileys, and what came back? Large Baileys drink I have ever been given! Seriously! Look at the picture! its like 3-4 baileys drinks in 1! I was very happy! We ordered our food... took some time... my only gripe. The food was good though. Unlike my last Applebees experiences in Hialeah, FL or Cutler Bay, FL. Will I come back? Yes, definitely! The wife and i stayed in Lima last night and we decided to return Applebee's. We stopped comin here because of the lack of consistency. The service (for us) has always been good to great, its the kitchen that has all the problems. The beef i have with this joint is THEY DONT PUT ANY DAMN BEEF IN THE FOOD. We ordered Neighborhood nachos (beef) and the Brisket quesadilla, beef also. This food had no substance at all. That pisses me off when these restaurant chains sell food and you don't get your moneys worth. That is why I frequent mom and pop joints. Satisfaction is all i want from the service to the food. It is ridiculous to make people wait to be seated when there are numerous tables available. My wife and I were told that the manager wasn't seating people because the kitchen was backed up. There were 16 people in line to be seated ahead of us and a 20 minute wait according to the hostess. Why couldn't we be seated and offered drinks? I would gladly have stayed and waited longer for food if I could have been seated at one of the dozen tables available with a drink. (I guess the manager missed that episode of Bar Rescue.) Stopped in after seeing a concert given by Sweetie's friend. Took him here for a snack afterward, because it was handy. Apparently it's a top spot in Lima, because it looked packed from the outside. Inside, there were a few tables, and things moved quickly. Service was excellent. The food, well, it was okay. We shared an appetizer sampler, and our friend had some kind of southwestern chicken. He loved it. The apps- wings, cheese sticks, quesadillas, chips with artichoke dip- were okay. The chips were very salty, the dip was great, and the cheese sticks and wings were just okay. Ordered over the phone for Car Side To-Go, it was an automotive system but it got my order correct when it repeated it back to me. We get to Applebee's at the time it says to pick up the food. We waited and the server who was running food came out and asked our name. She told us it would be a few more minutes. Which was fine, also she was a really sweet girl. A little while later she said they were still waiting on it. It was about 10-15 minutes later she comes out with our food and said, "Sorry, we were just waiting on your fries!" I told her we didn't order any fries.. She took the bag back and went inside. She came out and said now they were waiting on my grilled chicken for my salad. About 5 minutes later she comes back out and apologizes and hands us our food. I live about 10 minutes away and when I opened my food when I got home they had only foil covering my salad and the salad seemed to be sitting under their heat lamp too long and the lettuce was disgusting. They also are not consistent with how much salad dressing they provide sometimes the cup is clear full but this time there was maybe a half an ounce of dressing in the large container. It barley covered the bottom of the cup. This applebee's is the most inconsistent one I've ever been to. Sometimes everything is great and tastes wonderful then other times you have situations like this. They need more efficient training in their kitchen. I'm only giving it two stars because the runner was so nice. read more

Sat at the bar, Sarah was friendly and attentive. Ordered the Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp, came out quick and had great flavor.

Riblets are amazing. Everything else sucks. I stupidly ordered a chuck steak with baked potato and a Caesar salad. The steak essentially was a salty chunk of overcooked ground beef covered in a few sauteed onions and mushrooms. And the Caesar salad looked like someone had sneezed into a box while scarfing a chicken wrap. Just look at the picture! read more

There is nothing worse than waiting over an hour for a REALLY bad meal... Except maybe having to pay for it! I honestly don't believe that the oil in the fryer has been changed in months. Our mozzarella stocks were gross as were the onion rings and fries that accompanied our meals. The waitress poured our drinks and then left them on the wait station near our table while she helped several other tables before handing our drinks to us. My "frozen" lemonade was not so frozen by the time I finally received it. We had an 8 year old with us and it took 15 minutes to get him a kids menu. I ordered the bruschetta chicken and while I will say the chicken was moist, what it came served on resembled something a dog threw up after eating too much grass and straw. It was horrible! The sight and smell of it made me lose my appetite! I know it's Applebee's, so I shouldn't expect anying gourmet, but edible shouldn't be too much to ask for. Never again!!!! Atrocious!!! read more

Stopped in to take a friend out for his birthday. Seated promptly. Ask about special of burger & fries....server went and got menu for that special. If I hadn't seen it. on TV, we would not have know. Just wonder if regular price would have showed up on ticket. ??? Two of the three order the burger & fries special - replace one fry with slaw Our fries were on the cooler side, just at the edge of acceptable. My friend ordered the chicken tenders & fries. Ask him about the chicken, stated it was nice and crispy. Server did offer to bring him a bit - which was a small brownie and ice cream - this was on the house. Nice touch. Ask the server if the table across aisle was his, he replied yes. Told him the lady had been sitting there quite awhile. If it was me, I would have already gotten up and left. He did provide her with great service after I point this over site out. NEED to step up quality of food and service....... read more

If I could give no stars I would. Went in with 7 and an infant. We were told 15 minutes and we had to wait outside. We got them to let the parents with the baby wait inside. Stood outside in the rain for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, people are walking in and getting sat. I finally went in when a guy went up to the parents. He said it would be a while until we could be seated. I asked why, said we were allowed 10 people and couldn't they push 2 tables together? He said he couldn't do that because it would interfere with other tables (who have been sat underneath us). I mentioned that to him and that they knew we were waiting and should've been holding back a table for us. He looked at me like I was an idiot and told me that they were doing the best they could as I turned around and saw the table he was considering sitting us at being sat. I let him know if they kept doing that we wouldn't be seated for hours and told the other couple to get up and we were leaving. We went next door to Mello Mushroom and had our drinks in less than 15 minutes along with appetizers ordered. Very poor service and I'm very upset because I really wanted to eat there but they get my middle finger tonight! read more

Ok. Not bad enough that we had to wait 45 minutes to get seated. Boat it took well over an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. We had to call the manager over to have him go back to the kitchen and get it. Try to get a drink and that took 45 minutes to. Every single thing took three times as much as normal. This is my first time on Yelp and we eat out a couple times a week. Try to get our bill and that took a half an hour as well. I try to avoid chain restaurants as much as possible, but living in Lima, its hard to do. On Veteran's Day, some places offer a free meal to vets. My boyfriend and I thought we'd give Applebees a shot, but knew to have no expectations. It was beyond horrible. He ordered shrimp. The waiter came back 5 minutes later to say they were out. His next choice was a steak, medium rare. The steak came out gray, not seared, pink all the way through, and just looked awful. The baked potato looked like it had been microwaved and topped with about a cup of sour cream. I ordered the cowboy burger. This probably would've been alright if the bottom bum was not completely soggy, and the burger had more than a couple drops of bbq sauce. The lettuce on the burger was approximately 2 inches in diameter, and completely white. Anyone who's ever worked in a kitchen should know you don't serve that shit. Lettuce is not white. Even the mountain dew was horrible. Watered down, I'm not sure, just all wrong. The ONE good thing, was our appetizer. We got the potato twisters, because I figured it was foolproof. You can't possibly mess up slicing a potato and frying it. These were good, though overpriced. Applebees. Never again. read more

I have given this restaurant three chances, I am sad to say nothing changes, the service is very poor and the food is jus not good. We called corporate to let them know after the first experience, nothing happened, not a call, not a letter, we assumed they just do not care. A few month later, we tried again, same problem with service (slow, non attentive, like we are a bother because we came in, doesn't listen), ordered food and it was not cooked right or the wrong order in general. I ordered a carry out. My husband picked up the food after he waited 30mins it's past ready time. When came home my order was incomplete the sriracha shrimp which is $8.49. I called and they realized they forgot to put it in the bag. The manager spoke with me took my name and address she sent me two coupons $5 off of a purchase, didn't apologize. I had friends over for dinner it was not enough I had to cook something to make up for the missing item. You do the math because clearly this manager doesn't know how. read more

Just bought Curbside. The 2 for $20 dinners half been cut in half. Our steaks were so chewy and rubbery. The best thing which used to come in a huge tray warm were the tortillas spinach dip. They were in small bowl with dip. We picked up at 6. Will not go again. Not worth the drive or $$. The service is good the food sucked, especially proportionally. read more

I had to wait a little while and they also gave me a pen that didn't work when I needed to sign the credit card slip. when she came back and i told her, she said that she had trouble with that pen earlier in the day also and didn't know why she had kept it instead of throwing it away. anyhow...got back to our hotel and there were no utensils or napkins in our bag. I called and they told me to come back and they would give them to me, since they forgot to put them in our bag. I drove back over and waiting a little while but no one came out. I called again and then they brought them out (just loose, not in a bag). I asked if it was possible to speak to a manager, but they said I would have to call in tomorrow to talk to a manager. By the time I made it back to our room, our food was basically cold. Not the best experience by far. I would recommend trying somewhere else if you are considering carryout. read more

I received their trademark dirty silverware and waited an hour and a half for a club sandwich with french fries. I only go there every three of four months but each time I go I get dirty silverware. The last time I was there, everyone at the table had dirty silverware with what looked like mayonaise on it. I don't think I'll ever go there again. read more
