Don't recommend. In a minor defense to our waitress I feel like they were understaffed. Lots of reviews of this place already, and as to my thoughts our food was quite good, as it was on prior visits. I am giving five stars for the service. Each time I have been to this restaurant, the service has been excellent. They clearly know what they are doing and do it well. This time we arrived late and nobody seemed at all concerned - served us as if we were the first customer of the day, no rush, just polite and friendly. It seems whoever owns and or runs this are on their game and hire well. At least to this customer seems so. I had the filet medium rare and salty, warm bread served with tasty butter. My martinis were large, full and perfectly chilled. We hadn't planned to be headed to visit our daughter in Cincinnati, but she had car troubles and so we had to make a quick down and back from Michigan. Headed home, we wanted something different to eat then the normal roadside chains...and up came the "OC" on Yelp. Long story short, we decided to give it a go based on the reviews. We weren't disappointed. Admittedly it was after 7 on a Tuesday night, so there was no wait (my guess any other night you'd need a reservation), and we were taken to a nice booth in the main dining area. From the moment we got there, the service was first rate. Steph, our server, was there with drink orders and menus, and immediately asked if we had a special event we were dining in for. We did not, but very quickly decided on a couple G&T's and an appetizer of a half dozen oysters, after Steph explained they were flown in every couple days. Not to be outdone, when the Oysters arrived they were accompanied by a healthy bread basket and just the right amount of cocktail sauce and horseradish. From here on out it was pretty much what you would expect from what we've described so far. Steph checked back regularly, took our order, and stay attentive but not overbearing. In turn, we took the option of the Tableside Caesar (get the anchovies, trust me) and while I had it as my salad course, my wife chose to make it her entree by adding Filet mignon tips. I'm often skeptical of these add ons - they are often all show and meh in taste....but in this case it was worth every dollar. I then proceeded to order the Tenderloin Mignon Filet with a side of Yukon Golds - loaded, of course. I asked Steph what she preferred/recommended, and she indicated slightly rare to medium. She was dead on, having me cut in to make sure the color was to my liking - yeah, I know, that should be a given, but let's face it, it isn't anymore. Anyway...the meat was juicy but not cool, and cut nicely while melting in the mouth - I was very pleased. The potatoes were also wonderful, whipped to my liking. We finished off our fabulous meal with Steph (and Yelps) recs on the donuts and their coffee - a killer combo. read more

I truly wish I could give OC Prime 4 stars, but due to their inability to recognize a reservation, they get a 1. Made reservations for 4 at 7:30 a week in advance. Showed up at 7, checked in with host and sat at the bar for a cocktail. Rechecked with the host when the entire party arrived around 7:20. Checked again at 7:40 and again at 8. Thank goodness the bartender intervened and served us at the bar--with absolutely no thanks to the rude moron whose job it was to seat us. Also, when I last checked with the host (prior to giving up), he said he called my name twice--a boldface lie. Our party was sitting at the bar, not 15 feet away from the host station, all waiting for our table, and making eye contact every time he walked by. The food was good. Starting with the bacon wrapped figs were absolutely incredible - the best I've ever had. The stuffed mushrooms were also a home run. For me, this missed a 5-star rating because the bone in rib-eye was a little stringy for me. My wife's filet was good, but a touch over cooked. Have been to Old City several times and it is usually good. Thia trip was different. Ordered filet mignon at $56.00, a price which would indicate you're going to get a nice piece of meat. I'll start with our first of two visits to Old City Prime. We first visited about a year and a half ago for my 31st birthday. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm. We got there about 7:25 and checked in. It was New Year's Eve and they were packed. After about 30 minutes, we asked how much longer. We were told something like 10 minutes. After about 20 minutes, we started to notice that people who were coming in after us, were getting seated. We ended up just leaving and going to Olive Garden. We are not the kind of people to make a scene and get mad at staff, we write reviews. I had posted a review on Yelp and Facebook about that experience. My wife sent them feedback via their online comment form. I was pretty upset about what happened. My wife told me that the owner, John Heaphy, had personally come to our house and gave us a generous gift card and apologized for our experience. After hearing this, I decided to take down the reviews and give them another shot. After putting it off, we went back to celebrate our 15th anniversary yesterday. We made our reservation for 6:15 pm. We arrived 10 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances. Something I don't make a habit of and frown upon myself. We waited about 10 minutes before we were seated. I was immediately impressed by the gentleman, who came to the table, handed us our menus, filled our glasses with water and offered us the wine menu. It was the manner in which he did everything that impressed me. The decor of this place is amazing and well thought out. For my meal, I got the peppercorn crusted dry aged Kansas City New York strip steak, medium cooked with a house salad and loaded baked potato and an old-fashioned. The salad came out pretty fast. The entrees, on the other hand, took a really long time to come out. We had noticed a young couple, who had finished their meal, leave about 20 minutes after we sat down. An older couple got seated in that same booth, got their meal and finish it before we got ours. When the steak came out it looked overcooked. I was pretty conflicted on whether I should send it back or not. A steak is a steak and throwing out a perfectly good steak is somewhat of a sin. I'll put some steak sauce on it and I'm good to go. On the other hand, It is a $60 steak. The taste should give you the same feeling as if you're driving a Lamborghini on the autobahn at top speed. It should taste like heaven. I ended up sending it back. The loaded baked potato was really good. I was pleasantly surprised with how it was perfectly seasoned and topped. My new steak came out and it was cooked to order but under seasoned over half of it. It wasn't bad but not worth what it cost. John came out and apologized for the steak being overcooked and offered a free dessert or drink. We had seen a chocolate ball get set on fire at another table. We got that. It's called the fireball. It's a hollow chocolate ball on top of a brownie with ice cream. When they bring it out. They pour a flaming liquid over it that melts the ball. Then they pour a chocolate syrup over it. It was really rich and not bad. I enjoy small entertainment like that at the dinner table. I noticed that people celebrating birthdays got a cupcake with a really large sparkler. I'd return to check out the upper lounge and try other items on the menu. Just not anything with crabs. read more

Just an amazing place. It is downtown Lima, but don't let that dissuade you. Cole was our waiter and was just marvelous. We went for bookends, appetizers and dessert. My wife had the bacon wrapped scallops. I think it said sea scallops. If so, they were very young as their size was more that of bay scallops. Even so, they were great with a maple sauce that was not too sweet. I had the potato skins, which were also tasty. We visit Lima every year for the American Flat Track race at the Allen Co fairgrounds, and was looking to have a nice meal with our group of 9 people. part of our group arrived late and we were treated awesome. Our server Stephanie, did an outstanding job attending to our every request. and was very knowledgeable about the menu. we had a wide variety of menu options including Oysters and Beef Pinwheels for appetizer. The Filet was deliciou, as was the Meatloaf. we had such a great time with Stephanie that we recruited her to work with our Charity at the Race the next day. It was overly fatty and served lukewarm. The sides (mashed potatoes, potatoes cooked in duck fat, and asparagus) were served room temperature. Some were sent back but others were hungry and didn't want to wait. Atmosphere- I liked the building. Neat wood floors. The three TVs above the bar were tuned to Rudolf the red nosed reindeer.
