Absolutely love coming here! I believe it is the best spot to grab breakfast in Lima. Prices are good for the amount you get. Personal favs are the Lulu's special or the strawberry waffle. Highly recommend adding things to your home fries (onions and cheese for me). Be prepared to wait if you come here on a weekend after 9am. Usually pretty good service even when they are busy. A coworker of mine recommended that I try this place. She said they have the best breakfast in town. I was a little sad to see that plates like the French toast do not come with any sides. Sides are almost $2 extra depending upon what you want to get. But even with the extras the price is still very affordable. Aside from that their pancakes are very good and huge! This place is always on my list of places to hit when we are in town visiting my in-laws! The last time I was there I had the eggs benedict and it was amazing. I've been craving it for weeks and nothing compares! The service has been super-friendly every time I've been there. I did make it back to Lulu's Diner for lunch. Great sandwich choices and the food was hot off the grill. The atmosphere was the same, pick a seat and somebody waits on you in a short time. The staff is very friendly...that's a plus in my book because I have been to many restaurants that don't do that. I only have one complaint and it might just be dumb luck. This is my absolute favorite place to get breakfast! Today I took my grandma and two kids. They were getting a new POS system, something happened to our ticket, and our food took way longer than normal (they were extremely busy so I didn't think anything of it.) The waitress came over, as did the owner, and apologized and explained what was going on. The owner offered to pay for our entire meal but I explained that this was not necessary at all. He brought out some orange bread for us. Great owners, great waitresses, awesome cooks, great food, and over all a great place to bring the family :) read more

What a great find on our road trip that took us through Lima! I had the Lulu's classic (or was it the special?). Anyway, two eggs, thick bacon, thick sourdough toast, and the most delicious home fries since my dear old mother made them while I was growing up. Yum! My companion had the veggie omelet and he raved about his breakfast as well. Next time (And there will be a next time!) I'm going to try the bananas foster waffles! Four friends and I went to Lulu's today. We sat and waited 20 minutes without anyone approaching us, not even to get a drink order. We finally left. I have been there three times before. Ordered the patty melt and a cup of stuffed green pepper soup. 7.99 for patty melt and an extra 1.59 to have a cup soup instead of fries. In hind sight the fris would have been the better vaule. Soup was a total disappointment. No real taste except tomato. Very few chunks of green pepper and no rice at all. Patty melt was good, but needed two napkins to wipe off my greasy fingers. The booth next to me ordered breakfast it looked amazing. If I'm this way again I might try an omelet. Side note place is clean except carpet way over due for new flooring. read more

So my 5 star rating is relative to other options in the area. We Travel here often to visit family and couldn't take anymore chain restaurant food (and that is the only other option). On our last visit to Lima, I was glad to see a place like we use to eat at years ago had sprung up. My sister in law took us here last time we were in Lima and we were impressed. I go to this restaurant every time that I am in town and the food is pretty good . There is one waitress that is just terrible and for some reason I have gotten her several times lately. I was in today and watched several tables get drinks and orders taken before my waitress came by and said oh yah coffee. I ordered a carry out and when it arrived I asked for my bill so it would be hot when I got it home. She waited on several tables and brought their drinks and then disappeared for at least 5 more minutes before even letting me pay. Last time I told her I needed a carry out and she stalled so long that when she came back I didn't even have time to wait for it. It's a shame that this is what you remember instead of the quality of the food. I must say that the other waitresses are very good and if you get one of them I would highly recommend this place. Confused by pricing, 3 eggs, Home Fries and Toast $3.99, I asked for sausage as well, waitress said that was the special so I was happy.
