To eat I ordered the classic breakfast and to drink I had the vanilla maca. I didn't love the vanilla maca, and I only blame myself for that. I have never had maca so I didn't know what to expect but the drink basically tasted like a chocolate protein shake. Which isn't bad but I wanted like more of a latte so that was on me. My meal however? Loved it. Everything was so flavorful and hit the spot exactly with what I wanted. I also really appreciate a salad with breakfast since this helps lower your glucose spike and so when a restaurant offers this I know they know true wellness!!! My girlfriends both ordered the avocado toast and loved it. One ordered the cherry vanilla limeade and enjoyed it as well, but as an avid cherry hater I didn't try it...but if you like cherry she recommends it! By some miracle, they even made butter tasteless. I considered calling the Vatican to see if this was some holy, divine miracle, but my wife suggested maybe the main course would be better. We settled on the pesto pasta with chicken added for an additional fee. The pasta was good. Great texture, good flavor, and the combination of ingredients was good, but it's nothing original. It's pesto pasta. It's a classic. I appreciate the pomegranate seeds on the guacamole because it's original, it's clever, and it's different. We also ordered a special soda drink for our son, and it had a small black bug on top. I had them take it back and replace it. I kind of expected a "Listen, we apologize for the bug. Here's half off dinner," or something, but nothing. Service was fine, and it's a decent atmosphere. We weren't the only ones, they loss some businesses that day, 6 other fans came too. It's vegan and very vegetable forward in a way that doesn't feel preachy, just fresh and intentional. The tacos are especially unique. The tortillas are made from spelt and garbanzo flour, and they remind me a bit of the tangy, pancake-like bread you get with Ethiopian food. It gives the tacos this unexpected flavor and texture that works surprisingly well. The toppings tasted fresh every time, and the tempeh has a smoky flavor, so if you're into that, you'll be happy. I didn't realize at first how customizable the menu is, but you can add all kinds of toppings and extras. They also do full coffee service plus a big smoothie lineup. The smoothies come with sea moss, which I wasn't familiar with before, but they're clearly big believers in it as a nutritional boost. Service was friendly both times. Once they even brought my food out to me! Either way, they were kind and attentive. You can also ask for water even though they don't have self-serve jugs out. I've been to other SNAP Kitchens and loved the food, so I'm not sure why the quality here was so much lower than I expected. Maybe it's just the items I received, but I don't think I'll visit this particular location again. That said, I LOVE that everything SNAP Kitchens offer is gluten free, especially since I know I can eat everything they offer. The food is usually delicious, but I'd probably avoid the Bison Quinoa... The location is super convenient with the location and there is short-term parking available both in front and to the side. It almost feels like a little market or corner store with everything being organized and feeling bright and fresh. And again, I love the concept and most of the food, so it was just a miss with this location for me. The only gripe I have is that there's no indoor seating (brutal in this heat!), and the outdoor seating is not very clean.
