I ordered a rice bowl with chicken, kale, avocado and other things that resulted in terrible food poisoning. Avoid this place.

They gave us a quick rundown of all the drinks and food items they offer. They like to encourage conversation & creativity amongst the people in the community, so laptops are prohibited on the weekends as well as after 5pm on weekdays, they are closed on Mondays. There's a handful of parking spots in front of the cafe, or you can choose to park on the street in the neighborhood. There are beautiful plants and board games for you to play while in the cafe. They have tables outside on the patio, or they have tables, chairs, benches and couches inside. They have a dj booth since they have a dj at night, and they even had music records and merch shirts for sale. There were only 2 other small groups of people when we went on a Saturday morning. I choose a #2 smoothie, a turkey pesto sandwich (Turkey, Basil Pesto, Provolone Cheese, Sun dried tomato spread, mayonnaise. Served on a toasted ciabatta from Texas French Bread) and with a side of fresh berries. It was fresh, flavorful and delicious. I love to support small businesses, so I plan to be back on another quiet weekend morning.

Such a fun shop! Coffee meets smoothies meets dinner all in one!…read moreSeating wise there's so many options, tables to couches to outside benches. Great place to talk, study (although there's background music that may be distracting) and overall fun vibes. Note that there's a no laptop rule after 5pm. I got the pineapple (number 3) smoothie bowl. Such a cute little bowl for $14. Out a smile on my face!

I went to Blenders and Bowls for an acai bowl; however, I got distracted by the Blenders, i.e. smoothies. I went for a Beach House Blender (Blend of Frozen Bananas, Frozen Strawberries, Frozen Mangoes, and Pineapple Juice.), a touted bestseller. It was so thick you could have eaten it with a spoon. I like that it was not eye-squinting sweet, yet very flavorful and satisfying. I was headed to the gym, and I did not want anything super heavy. The location is casual with a tropical paradise persona including outdoor seating. The staff were helpful in pointing out the bestsellers. They created a laid-back environment. I needed to use the restroom while there, which is in the hallway behind Blenders and Bowls (lock combination required). There is also limited free parking. Overall, Blenders and Bowls lured me in for their healthy options. It is perfect for when you want something tasty and healthy.

I was very indecisive but the lady at the register was very patient with me even though it was like 10 mins till closing. Unfortunately, I can't say that I loved my bowl. I ordered the small and the smoothie base to topping ratio was just off. I kept getting spoonfuls of granola more than anything. Maybe order the large if you want a more even ratio of toppings to açaí smoothie base, I'm sure you could also ask for less granola? The fruit in our bowls tasted pretty fresh & sweet tho so that's a plus! The inside is pretty small and only has a few seating options but there are a couple tables outside. The parking shares a parking lot with the taco deli but there is also street parking if the lot is ever full. Overall, I think this place is okay but I'd definitely choose Playa Bowls over this place any day!

There is also a small dog park right next door, so that kept us entertained throughout our visit. Since I used their QR code for ordering, which was attached to our table, I didn't have much interaction with the employees. But my order was ready quickly and delivered to me smoothly. I ordered a small hot latte with honey and the Smashed Avocado with added poached egg. I was very impressed by both of these items! The latte had perfectly steamed milk and just the right level of sweetness. And I always appreciated beautiful latte art. The toast was super satisfying and it incorporated a variety of interesting flavors. The walnut pesto and balsamic glaze gave the dish a zesty zing, but it was balanced nicely by the avocado and expertly poached egg. I loved Civil Goat Coffee and, if I were local, I would absolutely revisit! Highly recommend!

Self-service ordering, via an ordering platform that takes substantially more time to figure out than had they taken our order themselves. (We ordered two things last week (which we've ordered often, for years) and the staff needed to help us with both, which they acknowledged was confusing on their platform to even them.) All easy fixes, but they seem to be working towards a less customer-oriented experience. Please raise prices rather than degrade the experience. We want you to last for the long haul!
