3 meat plate and 2 delicious desserts
    Andy C.

Craving for good Texas BBQ and Lulling BBQ doesn't disappoint. I don't know what happened with folks came before me. The service was awesome. Everyone was friendly. The meat just melted off the bones. Sausage is not overly salty like that mega gas station chain. They are definitely much better than the one in Houston where I had to stand in line during the lunch time to get in. You know what I am referring to.

Locals come here and passer byes stop evidently there was a line. Four people working the counter and have a hard time getting orders rapidly. Sides of Mac&Cheese and green beans taste out of a box. Nothing spectacular about those. Everything's a bit overpriced for the flavor and they put there mustard base sauce on everywhere. I understand meat price have gone up but maybe flavor, food and service shall too. Won't be returning or recommending this to anyone.

The staff were very professional and friendly. I got the two meat plate with chicken, brisket, potato salad and beans. The meat was good and the sides were tasty. The bbq sauce was a delicious semi-sweet mustard sauce. I appreciate the homemade sides as many bbq places don't offer that. There's outside seating, as well.

Not nice! Too bad we won't recommend it! Food is tasty but not worth it! Are y'all Texan? Cause I am and yall ain't right!

The cashier was so incredibly rude! We were passing through after a family vacation. We have never been to Luling nor had we eaten at this restaurant much less get on their website! The cashier ripped my husband a new one, when he mentioned fried okra! She said " Why would you ask that! The new website is up!" When he said we " we aren't from here, we are just passing through." She said " and". Best be glad I didn't hear it! That's just a portion of what she said! Are yall even Texan? Cause I am and Yall ain't right

Solid four stars. So we have a barbecue restaurant with the same name in Houston Texas off of Richmond Avenue near 610. They have very similar barbecue sauce which is orange. However they are not affiliated. The food was really good. Food brisket, sausage, and ribs. The moist brisket was actually very good. I gave that a five out of five. The sausage was about a three out of five. It was pretty good but a little too greasy for my liking. The ribs were excellent. I'll give them a five out of five. The sides were not that great. That was probably the least flavored macaroni cheese ever had in my life. They really need to look at redoing their macaroni and cheese because it's simply not good. One out of five on the macaroni and cheese. The potato salad was decent. The customer service is great. Some real nice good old country folk who know how to treat people. They are very kind and courteous and they make sure you get your food in a timely manner. I will definitely come back and try their food again if I was in the area. Solid four stars

This is the real deal Best bbq in Texas! doesnt hurt eating on the tailgate of my pickup either!

As good as it gets for central Texas BBQ. Everyone runs all over the state looking for the Top 10 joints when all they have to do is drive straight to Luling City Market. Who knows what the secret really is but im told it's the local wood they use. This makes sense because there is a certain ja ne sais quoi that can't be explained. If you are close( within 300 miles) go now. If you are outta state looking to earn your Texas Q deciphering n judging bona fides listen up! Do not miss Luling City Market!!!!! Period

Awesome sausage! Ok brisket (needs sauce). Very good slaw. Surprising beans.

Came here for a very late lunch. It may have been about 3:30pm when I walked in the doors. A couple of folks (owners?) were cleaning up and the place was immaculate in the way of a well loved restaurant that had been around for YEARS and the folks still cared. They were also super friendly and accommodating as they walked me thru the items that they had on time and to give me an idea of what to get. Plus 1 star right there for the great service and friendly folks. The food didn't hit it off for me. There were highs and not so highs. But the value and the experience kind of made up for it. I went with the classic 2 meat plate to try to sample my way around their menu. The main item was brisket. It looked fantastic, but there really wasn't any smoky flavor. It was well cooked and reasonably smooth, but I'm not sure what pit it came out of. I really should have tried some of the sauces because this is the reason that they are made. Good piece of meat, well cooked in need of a bit more flavor. The second meat was the sausage. I wasn't in for the kick so asked for the non-jalapeno version. Yes, I'm a heretic. But this was absolutely a fantastic sausage. If you are a sausage fan, you will love this. Crispy, savory, kick of meaty goodness. I really enjoyed it. The sides definitely had some love in them. I went with the slaw which, for this late, was pretty crispy. Nice crunch followed by that sweet slaw taste. Nice side action there. I also went with the pinto beans. At first I was a bit bored. I thought they were straight out of the can without a lot of flavor. Then the warm glow of a late kick started. Yep, those were fresh and good with a little extra in them. Definitely a good home town, BBQ join with great folks. Meat was hit or miss, but it could have been the lateness in the day.

Came by here and was a bit disappointed. Ordered one pound of brisket and specified moist, and it was far from it. The person who sliced the brisket in fact tossed out some of the fattier bits and the bark, leaving only dry, lean meat remaining. It lacked flavor and smokiness, but above all, it was very dry. The barbecue sauce was alright but in all honesty, I have never purchased brisket that was this lean when specifying moist. It probably was healthier at least. Also the bread they provided came in the package and was expired.

    Brisket, broccoli salad and coleslaw.

We walked into a time warp! 80s wrestling on tv, 50s and 60s music playing on the speakers, old Coke signs on the wall and a framed 8x10 of Kerry Von Erich w/ Iceman King Parsons at the register. They've got an entire back room that looks like someone's grandmas living room from 40 years ago. As cool and interesting as the ambience was, the food was just as amazing. As you might have guessed, it's a themed fancy hot dog restaurant. The dogs themselves are standard sized and delicious I ordered the "Hi Ho Silver" which is topped with cheese, ranch, jalapeño and bacon. My wife has the "Bandstand" which is a chili weiner. Both were served with home fries and both were $4.99. In addition to the weiners, they have burgers, sandwiches and salads. One kiddo ordered the "Wake Up Little Suzy" burger which includes hash browns and a fried egg ON the burger and the other ordered the "Lucy B" salad and they halved it with each other. The owners are a mother-daughter combo and when talking to them (they were very nice) we learned that the cupcakes and lemon bars were also made in house. We also found out why the place has such a goofy name. Seems there's a cartoon from the early 1900s about a "Gentleman Rabbit" called Uncle Wiggily. A relative suggested that as the name, they changed the spelling a little and... BobsYourUncle... restaurant named. I will say the same is perfect. The place is slightly odd, fantastically eccentric and a little goofy. And the food is priced great (family of 4 in and out for under $30) and is delicious. It's totally worth a trip from out of town to Luling just to eat here... and if you're driving through try and time your hunger right. You won't regret it.

Although I would suggest it is not a place you would necessarily want to come to relative to its ambience on the other hand you would miss a wonderful meal if you did not. The food was especially good with large portions and very reasonably priced. I understand there is a meat market next door (I assume the meat comes from there). My Philly Cheese Steak was excellent. The hamburgers are 1/2 pound (unless you want bigger) and very good. My wife had the BLT and was amazed at how much better than normal the bacon was. Our nephew, who is a big eater, couldn't even finish his chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and country gravy and said he's never had better. We all had fries and they were fresh, house-made, and delicious. None of us could finish them all. We pass through Gonzales maybe a dozen times a year and since this place is a couple of block west of where we join Hwy 90A, we've never seen it. Other reviewers mentioned that it seems to be a favorite of the locals and now it one of ours too. The tables fill the room and if there were more I'm sure they would fill them, though that might mean the fast service could suffer, so to me it's fine as is. We will return and will start planning our trips to include lunch here. They close at 2 pm so will leave home with that in mind.
