Came from LA to Ventura for the day for work and decided to come here for a quick lunch bite and enjoyed it a lot! I ordered the BLAT. The ingredients tasted so fresh and the focaccia bread was delicious! This is definitely in my top 3 simple sandwich places. The staff was super friendly too. I would come back!

3.75 stars, rounded up to 4. It's pricey, and I don't mind that if the food is terrific, but some things didn't quite hit that bar. The brisket melt (special of the month for April) was disappointing. The meat was tough and chewy. I'm sure it was a case of ordering the wrong thing. Unfortunately, I was the April fool that ordered it. My daughter ordered the Italian, no tomato or mayo. Overall, the sandwich didn't have a lot of flavor. The lettuce should have been dressed with oil, vinegar and salt. Yes, it's a low-brow Jersey Mike's move, but it works every time. The chickpea salad sandwich was the surprise winner. We also had the "umami chips", which taste like every other bag of seasoned chips, and the cucumber salad was refreshing. The dining area was spotless and the service was friendly.

Absolutely delicious! The sandwiches are definitely pricey but each half could be it's own meal portion because these are thick boys. The ingredients definitely taste high quality. Loved the sides, tried all three: House Chips, Cucumber Salad and Zaatar Roasted Carrots. The only two sandwiches I have tried so far are the Roast Beef (which was amazing day of) and the Not-A-Cheesesteak which was awesome! Parking lot is very small and is shared with other businesses. There is a line out the door sometimes and they do sell out. Bathroom was clean and the seating area has always felt really clean. Really friendly employees who make you feel welcome.

A well deserved five star rating when you can heat up the other half of the sandwich the next day and it tastes just as good upon ordering it! My fellow yelpers in Ventura had me drooling over their sandwich pictures, so naturally I had to stop by. I ordered the Italian sandwich; which is made with house made focaccia. Add layers of Italian meats like prosciutto, salami, and fresh veggies and you have a delicious tasting sandwich. First bite was like whoa! The bread was so soft, and spongy. It's the perfect Italian sandwich to order on a hot day and take it to the beach or park. I was full from one half of the sandwich and brought the other half home. I honestly thought it wouldn't be as good the next day, but it was! I heated it up in my air fryer and to my surprise the bread didn't get hard. It was just as soft as when I ordered it. It's always a disappointment when your left overs don't heat up very well the next day and you have to toss it. Not this sandwich! Customer service here was friendly and my order didn't take long. There is a decent amount of seating inside, but no outdoor seating available. I came on a hot day, so that was fine by me. I enjoyed my sandwich indoors. Overall, a great place for a sandwich and hopefully I can try more on the menu next time.

Good sandwich spot! Busy busy busy though. I was in town for the afternoon so I wanted to find a good meal for lunch. This place kept coming up as having good reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I popped in during peak lunch hour (12:30ish) and ordered the club sandwich to go. I got it without cheese as I'm dairy-free. It took quite a while until it was ready, 30 minutes. It's a BIG sandwich, I only ate half and that filled me up. Good for sharing or if you have a big appetite, maybe you can have a whole one. It's not insanely pricey, $16 for the club, but also pretty reasonably priced especially given its size. Is it the best sandwich I've ever had? No. But I'd recommend it if you're in the area. Here's what I loved about it. I loved that there was a good amount of meat in there. It was a good ratio of ingredients. I loved the other veggies like the sprouts, the tomato, the avocado. It made the sandwich taste fresh. Overall the flavor was really tasty, the chipotle mayo gives it a nice spice and creaminess. The focaccia was a little meh to me, I'd prefer it if the edges were crispy, instead, all of it is pretty soft. All in all, it's a pretty darn good sandwich though.

Had to do an update as I made it to the shop! Cute spot inside with decent amount of seating. Got there at 11:50am and it was buzzing. The parking lot is very small, I got lucky with one spot open. Went with the Italian sandwich, ooooooo this hit the spot! I was only able to eat one half, these sandwiches are shareable size. They still had their cucumber salad in stock. I see why it's popular and runs out quickly, the Korean dressing they make/use is bomb. I learned they have a kids club sandwich (Forgot to get a picture whoops), thinly sliced chicken, cheese, and mayo. My child is picky and loved this!! Kept saying "mom this bread is so good". Whoever makes their bread is amazing.

Luke's might be my new favorite lunch spot in Ventura, considering I've been here 4 times in like 3 weeks. The sandwiches are literally to die for. So far I have tried the BLAT, club, Italian, and romesco chicken and there are no flops, my favorite so far being the club. They make their bread in house and it is genuinely the best bread I have ever had. Each sandwich is so unique and flavorful, you are bound to find something you love. Everyone who works here is so kind and friendly and always makes sure you have the best experience possible. The inside is very modern, clean, bright, and feels very chill. They even have some cute merch! This spot is a must to check out!

I LOVE a good sandwich and in my personal opinion, a sandwich on Focaccia or croissant elevates it to the next level, so seeing all their sandwiches made on focaccia made me super excited! I had trouble deciding between the roast beef and romesco chicken but opted for the roast beef based on some recommendations from other yelpers and will try the romesco chicken next time! There was a bit of a wait (20 minutes) and some after me were quoted at 30-40 minutes for their orders but this was at peak lunch time on a week day and being that they just opened, it is a very popular spot! Parking is limited but I was able to grab a spot on the street nearby. Everybody was super friendly and it was clear they were working as fast as they could to get orders out while still ensuring everything was made right. The space itself is large with many tables (though most were full when I left) and an energetic vibe. The roast beef sandwich itself was fantastic and an absolute beast lol I ate half for lunch and had the other half later for dinner. It was a bit messy with all the toppings and sauce so make sure to grab some extra napkins! All the ingredients were super fresh and I cannot wait to go back! Also excited to see they are next to Buena Bodega, which I also plan to give a try next time!

I got the club sandwich with an Arnold Palmer. The sandwich is HUGE and was tasted very fresh. I like how when they give you a drink they don't put ice in it, I promise it's still cold, and you can add in the ice if you want. Makes me feel like I'm getting a bit more even if it's just an ounce or two. Service was really fast and very nice. I will definitely be back to try other sandwiches and their salads.

This sandwich shop is Main Street's newest addition and it came to town making more friends every day! Folks working here are super friendly, helpful and very nice, the menu included sandwiches, a salad, house made chips and their rendition of rice crispy treats. I chose the chickpea Sammy on house made focaccia with alfalfa sprouts, sliced radish, chickpea salad and romesco sauce. It was unique and absolutely delicious! My friends chose the chicken club. The club is also on house made focaccia, house roasted chicken, alfalfa sprouts, heirloom tomatoes, bacon, Muenster cheese, and chipotle aioli. We were there close to 2 and the line out the door extended into the parking lot. It's worth the wait! There's inside seating and it was packed today. Music was playing loudly, so enjoy your food, not the time for intimate conversation. Parking is available in the small lot out front as well as on Main Street. Give it a go, it's delicious!

Luke's is Midtown's newest sandwich spot and it already feels like it belongs. The space is clean and simple, with an open kitchen layout and a menu posted outside so you can check things out before stepping in. Counter service, straightforward ordering, a water station, and plenty of indoor seating if you're eating in (also very easy to grab and go). The menu keeps it tight: eight sandwiches total, including one veg and one vegan option. No decision fatigue. We ordered the club and the Italian and both were generous and filling. Took half home and still felt satisfied. The house-made focaccia isn't trying to steal the show, but it definitely elevates the sandwich. You can tell it's made in-house and adds that extra something without overpowering everything else. One of the owners was there and checked in to see how everything was, which is always a good sign. Thoughtful and welcoming. Bonus: it's right next door to Buena Bodega, making this little Midtown corner feel extra dialed in. Simple, satisfying, and doing exactly what a solid neighborhood sandwich spot should. I'll be back.

Holy sh*t. Ventura has been BLESSED. If you're wondering what to eat in this city, look NO further. This is the place to be. Ample indoor seating - cute and clean. Love the bar seating facing the window. I had the club and oh my goddddddddd. Literal perfection. Perfect focaccia. Perfect combination of ingredients. Chipotle aioli was liquid gold. Picked up a roast beef and an Italian, the cucumber salad and the chips to split with my husband. Had half of the roast beef and I'm FULL. So delicious, all of the toppings meld so well together. I don't know what they do to the onions to make them taste so amazing, but never stop doing that! I've seen so many people talking about the sandwiches but no mention of the sides. The chips - can't get enough! So good, fresh, crispy, delicious. The cucumber salad I could eat daily, it's so packed with flavor and a little kick that doesn't linger (lucky for me ) Saving my half of the Italian for dinner, but from the looks alone, I KNOW it's going to be just as good, if not better than the roast beef! As a person not big on sandwiches, I will be returning here. Got the Roast Beef sandwich and the side of carrots and cucumbers. -the sandwich is big! Good enough to share between two people. But as much as it is big I don't find it to be overstuffed where the filling is spilling out when you eat. Love that -I would have liked the carrots to be crispier (like air fried) but if that's how it's supposed to be it is still very good and just my own preference -love the cucumbers!! To be honest, the sandwiches were pretty good and hearty in size but on the expensive side. The real issue was the wait time. I waited 40 minutes total for two sandwiches. The first came out 25 minutes after I ordered and the second one took another 15 minutes. I ordered them at the same time and when I asked I was told they come out in the order they were ordered, apparently not. Several folks also ordered well after me and ate there or took their orders to go well before my sandwiches came out. No explanation from the owner/ manager. His response was somewhat of an oh well. read more

we had the Roast beef and tritip sandwiches it was okay so much oil so soggy falling apart hard to eat had to get a folk was over it after I ate a 1/4 of it . we just weren't fans the customer service was nice but if you have a 30 min lunch it takes a very long time to make 2 sandwiches. Also we asked to substitute a cheese( one for another ) not more cheese , and was added a 4.00 charge .The acoustic are loud you will have to speak loudly. also there meat to bread ratio on the tri-tip sandwich seems off . read more

AMAZING!!! I tried the Romesco and the "Not a Cheesesteak" - both SO good. Juicy bread, exciting flavors, fresh ingredients - you can really tell that everything is made from scratch. I can honestly say the Romesco (pictured) is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Also, don't miss the homemade lemonade, or the chips - they're umami, seasoned in-house... The interior is very chill and such a good vibe too. Employees are wonderful and the owners even work in the front and kitchen which is really cool. Today was my first time at Luke's and I really enjoyed my lunch there. I got the veggie cheesesteak and it was delicious. I noticed a lot of vegetarian and vegan options, including some appealing salads and drinks. my only complaint, and the reason I docked a star, is that the music was both extremely loud and extremely unpleasant. I just had the best sandwich I've had in such a long time. This place didn't miss. I ordered the Club sandwich and Umami chips. Let's start with the proportion, it was huge! The Focaccia bread was light and airy. It had the perfect ratio of meat and veggies. The chipotle aioli was the perfect sauce to tie it all together. Overall the sandwich was fresh, light and flavorful. Then there's the umami chips. WOW! They are packed with flavor! Perfect crunch. I asked one of the employees if they had anything spicy. She recommended the pickled, banana peppers. It was exactly what I was looking for. Everyone was so friendly. It's a clean and welcoming environment. I'll be back soon! Thank you guys. I tried Luke's Sandwich in Ventura and it was good, but honestly not worth the hype or the high prices. I ordered the Italian the bread was really good and fresh, but the coleslaw was overpowering and kind of took over the whole sandwich. It wasn't bad, just not balanced. There's another sandwich spot down the road with better options and better prices in my opinion. Probably wouldn't return. read more

Luke's is pretty new still to Ventura, but it's already fitting in super well. It's a great (pretty pricey) sandwich, but you just have to accept that living in Southern California nowadays. It's quality food, without a doubt. But it gets very busy very quickly, so best take it to go and head to a park or the beach. read more

I wanted to try somewhere I hadn't been yet and saw Luke's. The menu had promise, so I headed on over. I settled on the caprese because it is the safe option when trying a new sandwich shop, at its base level it is still generally good. This one isn't basic. Well balanced flavors and textures; the rich and creamy stracciatella, the arugula pesto, the sweet balsamic reduction and the soft, slightly chewy focaccia with a light crunch contrasting with the crisp tomato and soft spreads was fantastic. A lot of sandwiches kind of just meld their flavors, this one came in distinct layers, which is typical of a caprese, but here each layer hit so nicely. I'm coming back to try more, but it will be so hard not to get this one again. Luke's is a welcome addition to the local landscape. read more

Second time going to Luke's. This time got there when they opened so was only second in line! Super friendly service. Music choice is spot on. Everyone that works there seems to be friendly and like they really enjoy their job. You can tell through the quality and taste of the food. This time we got the NOT a cheesesteak and the Roast beef. The NOT a cheesesteak was super fresh hot off the grill. Very rich. We got the white American cheese so that might have certainly added to the richness. The addition of the oyster mushrooms give it a nice chewy bite. My only critique is the bread was nice and toasty on one side but the other side wasn't. Otherwise great sandwich very rich. The roast beef I think is my favorite I've had so far (the Italian at a close second). The roasted tomatoes and dressed pea sprouts add such a wonderful dynamic to the roast beef. Definitely one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had. Sadly the chips are still sold out but look forward to trying them! We also got the cucumber salad and that is definitely a must order. It hits the spot every time. We look forward to our next visit! Side note the water is great quality! Not sure if their machine is just so good at filtering it but it's honestly great water. A lot of restaurants have terrible water. I like that you're able to serve yourself too at their water and ice station! read more

I ordered the Caprese sandwich and was honestly shocked by how little was in it. There was no cheese, barely two thin slices of tomato, and just three tiny pieces of basil. That's it. For something advertised as a Caprese, this was completely unacceptable. It was skimpy, poorly made, and absolutely not worth the money. I feel ripped off and extremely disappointed. I would not recommend buying this sandwich to anyone. read more

Everything is absolutely excellent. An incredible new spot opened by lifetime locals. Luke's is by far the best sandwich spot in town and one of my favorite places to grab and bite and see familiar faces. My whole family has a different favorite sandwich, but my personal favorite is the chickpea salad. Their sides are well crafted as well, especially the spicy cucumbers. read more
