Part of their sales pitch is that they come out for emergency calls for their customers and how there's always someone available but if they can't even call me back to get a project started then why would I believe they'd actually show up when I needed a repair? Their quote was literally double the other quotes I had gotten and the markup on some items was ridiculous. The furnace model was listed on the quote so I looked it up and they were charging me nearly 5x what it cost. And it isn't like they were rolling in labor or other parts because everything was itemized. In the end, I went with a different company who did great work for half the price Halco wanted.

Appolo installed new furnace and central a/c unit in my home…read more At the time of the installation, the overflow preventer in the a/c unit was stuck, resulting in flooding my carpeted basement. The initial repair person who came to see what caused the flood was the one who told me that the overflow preventer install caused the flood yet Appolo refused to reimburse me for the insurance deductible. Two years later another (different) company came for routine maintenance and showed me that the original ductwork was poorly designed because there is a rule that there should be 24 inches between secondary ducts and the end of each main line; it is clear on most online descriptions that this is ideal for maximum air flow through the system. When Appoly did the original install I had them come back because the air flow felt insufficient and they told me it was by design because the goal is to run the unit for a long time at a lower air flow for consistent temperature!!

My goal was to have an initial conversation to see which properties might qualify before moving further. The representative said she could help, but the call focused on collecting detailed information to pass to a specialist rather than answering general questions. I was asked for my billing address and the exact addresses of all properties. When I asked why this was needed at such an early stage, she explained they use addresses to look up assessment values, square footage, and photos or details from sites like Zillow before an audit. I explained that online data often does not reflect conditions relevant to insulation needs, basement/attic size, etc and that I was happy to provide full details once we determined it made sense to proceed. I was told I likely would not receive a call back without providing addresses. After giving one address for a property we were open to getting a quote on, I was told a callback would take about four days. Five minutes later, I received another call saying they would not be able to help, without any explanation given. Overall, it appeared the priority was evaluating properties to decide business viability, instead of first discussing services or eligibility.

Mr Rooter was recommended to do our sewer pipes as tree roots were growing into the pipes causing…read moreback ups in my cellar. it required them to dig up the lawn which they did and they worked on it during the winter and were done in just a day or two which for obvious reasons was very helpful. my cellar had been a mess. they totally fixed the really bad problem with the backup onto the floor. I dealt with John Wayne for the pricing of the repair, and Josh, Scott and Dakota for the repair. John Wayne a very fair and honest guy who kept the quote as is, even though we hired them to fix the pipes months and months later. because of the digging during the winter, they had left 3 large mounds of dirt, which were unsightly, but necessary as the ground was all rock hard with snow and they would remove when the weather was better in the spring. months later now in April, Josh and Scott from Mr Rooter came back and did an absolutely excellent job fixing my lawn removing all the hard dirt and tilled so I can now get grass back in the spots. Mr Rooter from John Wayne to Scott and Josh and Dakota, to the office workers are all fantastic and very good at keeping the customer updated every step of the way. I totally recommend Mr Rooter! Tony
