While…read moreinvestigating the matter, he discovered and fixed a hazardous situation that had nothing to do with the problems I'd asked him to fix (but which turns out to have been the cause of a problem in another unrelated circuit that had puzzled me for decades). I learned a lot from him. He let me tag along and even do some tasks so that the could focus on the work that requires expertise. He procured replacement parts for me and his markup was such that I paid only the same price I'd have paid at the store on my own. He was very amiable and provided clear answers to my many questions without seeming to become impatient with me. I'm glad he's the guy who showed up to help me out.

Ecker Electrical is a small electrical contractor from Trumansburg. He was extremely informed of code knowledge. He really helped navigate some of the issues that were very very concerning regarding my old house in my old old wiring. And on a serious note that I had a coworker who who died tragically in seemingly electrical fire recently so it made me extra paranoid, extra urgent. Like I said, Tim was great just giving us all the issues, risk factors, preventative measures we should take. Just seeing fires going around from old electrical work you know it made me feel very secure to have someone who is very very knowledgeable and can anticipate problems. he was great to work with. He actually had his truck breakdown and he came in like like a superhero on a motorcycle just kind of cool and you know you got everything done, coordination with other trades, he worked around every little hiccup, hit his deadlines even though he had a lot of challenges, so I really appreciate the work in the meeting those goal, especially coming from a small business, It could be extra challenging, logistically. Wes did a fantastic job on a service upgrade from 100A to 200Amps. A friend/contractor referred him…read moreto me, I called him, and he promptly called back. I requested that we use text messaging and so we communicated that way, which I prefer. He gave me a written quote and explained the process to me. When he said everything was included, I was skeptical. I asked if that included the outside wire, the charge from NYSEG for the upgrade, and a 3rd party inspector (required by NYSEG). He said yes. He explained it would take one day. We scheduled a WED and everything went well except for a minor snag. The electrical lineman from NYSEG was waiting for Wes to show up at 9am when Wes just wanted the service disconnected and he would be there an hour later. I called Wes and he explained to them that he just wanted a disconnect and then they should come back for the re-connect. Then Wes went to work, wired up the panel very cleanly, and got power back up by the end of the day. He didn't finish all the labeling (my panel was an ugly, unlabeled mess before), so he cae back a few days later to help with that. I really appreciated talking to the guy who would do the work; that way there wasn't much that would be lost in communication. Wes also told me his experience working at the Port Authority in New Jersey on giant cranes. So he has many many years of experience. You should also be prepared that Wes will recommend lots of upgrades because "things aren't done right". Like GFCI outlets in the kitchen where there is water. This is code today but wasn't code many years ago. So, take these recommendations seriously, but he's not trying to oversell you like a car salesman. I may be slightly biased because my structural contractor, whom I love, recommended Wes. But Wes did a great job and earns this 5-star recommendation. The price was roughly $1800 for the job. No hidden fees.
