People dont understand that being a plumber in this day and age is tough with material allocation being insane. Homeowners don't understand how hard these guys have to work and they do work hard. They are professional, trustworthy and honest. Unlike other plumbers when they cut holes out of your wall they make a nice clean cut for easy patching and always clean up after themselves. They use moving blankets to protect the area they are working in and make sure to discuss the job with you before they start working. If you need quality service work these are the guys you want at your disposal. They are locals and very tight nit with the Ithaca community. One minute they are changing out your shower diverter amd an hour later they are installing steam piping at breweries. These guys do ALOT pf different jobs big and small. Give them credit where the credit os due. I dont care how many times they have to go get parts. Things change in a split second and your old ass house is the problem not them 100% of the time.

The good news is that unlike many folks in Ithaca, these guys actually pick up the phone. The bad…read morenews is that the service leaves a lot to be desired. I had a plumber look at a water pressure issue (apparently nothing to be done about that, so no worries) and a dripping tap. The plumber disassembled the tap, told me they needed to order a part - as usual, these always require some brand specific cartridge - and they'd get back to me once they sourced it. He did not put the tap back together properly, so I had to figure out how to reassemble it myself, and Warden never called me back about the replacement part. Weeks later I still have a dripping tap. Would not call these folks again, guess I'll teach myself how to replace the cartridge on my own so I can be assured of a decent job.

The plumbers were on time, polite, explained things patiently (I know nothing), and got things up and running very quickly. Anyway, they'll get my next call for sure.

From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. Brian, the owner, came out personally to assess our home, explain our options, and prepare three clear proposals so we could choose the solution that best fit our needs and budget. He also walked us through the finished system after installation, taking time to explain how everything works and how to care for it going forward. The installation crew, Lee and Damian, were terrific throughout the installation. Each day they arrived on time, worked efficiently, and were clearly experienced at handling the kinds of site-specific challenges that come with a rural home. They communicated what they were doing, addressed every issue that came up without fuss, and kept the worksite very clean throughout the project. They also removed the old system safely and cleanly. It's clear that LaMorte Electric is a skilled, local, family-owned contractor that takes real pride in their work and customer service. We are extremely happy with our new system and highly recommend LaMorte Electric Heating and Cooling to anyone in the Ithaca area looking for heat pump or HVAC work.

He helped diagnose issues with our 27 year old system when a half dozen other companies (some of the big ones) turned us down, ghosted our calls, or one just refused to come back after visiting. Most all just wanted to replace the system, that was it. Not Jared-- he sleuthed the problems, promptly repaired them, and taught us about the type of system we had and how to best maintain it (we're new owners of the property last year). He also noted that no one told us about a second cover for another chamber that existed that the other company never pumped (wasn't on a riser, but he bothered to look and find out, not just pump and run). He didn't overcharge or up-sell anything. In fact, he saved us thousands of dollars. Trustworthy and very professional, also easy going and easy to talk to. A big plus. Needless to say, we switched our service to him over the other companies in the area. We suggest you give him a try for your septic needs. Highly recommended!

I was ghosted by this company. I called Donohue Havlerson for a leaky toilet. Two guys came out and replaced the ring - $233. It still leaked, so John from the company came out and replaced the PVC flange - no charge. It still leaked. He came back and said he would need to replace the PVC flange with a metal one. He said he would come back later in the week. Never heard from him again - he stopped answering my texts. I've called the office 5-6 times, with no reply. Same with email. Haven't heard from them for 2 weeks, so I assume they ain't coming back. So I'm out $233, with a toilet that still leaks. All interactions with the company were friendly and professional, so this is a mystery. Bottom line: maybe Donohue Halverson will finish your job, maybe they won't.
