We stumbled upon this gorgeous cafe early in the morning while we were waiting for a clinic to open. Luigi greeted us at the door and was very warm and kind, particularly so to my elderly and disabled mother. People who treat the disabled and the elderly with respect and warmth always win brownie points with me. So many folk do their best to ignore them entirely. So I was immediately very impressed with Luigi. He introduced us to the barrista, Chloe, who served us with equal warmth and friendliness, and told us to take a seat as she'd bring out our order and we shouldn't worry about a thing. Service was fast and efficient, the coffees were hot and fresh and tasted delicious. Additionally, the zeppole that I bought was amazing, and reminded me a lot of my late father's much-missed beignets. It was warmed through, and very moreish, though I managed to resist the temptation to buy a second one! A friendly farewell saw us off for the clinic we had an appointment at, and we were both very impressed with Luigi, his staff, the service, food, coffee and cafe. We'll definitely be back to try the lunch menu and we look forward to it very much.

And so on our rare day off together I dragged my partner off to one of my Yelp " bookmarks". A previous review hit the spot & I decided it was worth a visit. The location isn't great, on Flinders (151) just off the busy Pulteney corner, and they kind of share the space with a business entrance at 149. If you're driving, all the nearby parking is at the excruciating Adelaide Council rates. There's no proper shelter for the outside seating so sunshine is welcome and we did get a few minutes worth. We had a quick look inside and were instantly greeted by the charming owner Luigi who established what we were after, asked us to take a seat and came out quickly to, at length and much salivating by my partner, explain their breakfasts. I think they do overlap with the lunch menu but we were sold on his gorgeous descriptions and ordered two poached egg dishes, one with a mozzarella and blue cheese sauce with baked beetroot, onion jam, and bacon on toasted ciabatta (or very similar) dressed with olive oil and pepitas and the other their 'Vesuvius' special with eggs atop 3 stacks of hash browns with spinach, onion jam, ham, toasted sesame seeds and dressed with olive oil and maybe a balsamic reduction. Both plates were beautiful to look at but more importantly everything on the plate was cooked right and tasted great. The coffee was very good but could have been a little stronger, for my taste anyway. The menu wasn't too extensive, which in my experience is good because it means what they do provide they do very well, but with dishes like rigatoni with three meat ragu, spaghetti with crab or octopus, and mussels in a Napoli sauce etc, we had already made return plans. Luigi is a lovely personable and likeable human being and will make you feel welcome. He explained to us he imports his tinned tomatoes from a region in Italy where they're grown in top quality volcanic soil producing deep red/burgundy tomatoes bursting with flavour and it's what features in his menu. We took home a single zeppole as well which I halved and served to my kids as their after school snack, drizzled with some Lindt chocolate I melted for that purpose. My son often says no to such desserts but he couldn't say no this time. I guess it'll be two next time. His staff were lovely and polite as well and I can't recommend a visit highly enough.

My husband grew up in Detroit, Michigan, USA which has The largest Middle Eastern population,…read morespecifically Lebanese, outside of the Middle East. It was with him that I went to lunch a few days ago. We arrived just after noon on a Saturday and we're surprised to be the only patrons! We are seated, quickly given menus, water, and allowed adequate time to review the menu. Our server was the son of the proprietor and he was such a delight! You could tell how proud he is of his Lebanese heritage and regaled up with a few stories of Houda, his grandmother and the restaurant's namesake. In addition he helped guide some of our dining choices and we were not disappointed! Houda's serves up tasty, flavourful, and generous portions. We had so much food left over that we had another meal the next day!

Amazingly authentic Lebanese food, friendly staff and really nice restaurant. The only thing that…read morelet the place down was the speed of the service... The food wasn't too warm when it arrived at our table... Was really yummy though. The zaartar bread was to die for and the lahm (lamb on a stick) was yummmmm! Would have been a 5/5 if the food was hot! Great food tho would come back (hopefully next time the food comes out hot!) The atmosphere was nice too, they had Lebanese music playing in the background and it seemed like an environment that would be child friendly. Nice and quiet too so you can have a conversation without having to yell.
