From my first time there to my most recent visit, the owner of the cafe has consistently come out to greet me and ask me how my day has been. This sort of pleasantry goes a long way and leaves a lasting impression ensuring the return of their customers. It's little things like small talk, wiping down your table and ensuring you have a clean ashtray that make the experience all the more enjoyable. The Deli is limited to breakfast and lunch meals, but do both extremely well with a huge variety of dishes to choose from. Their version of the B.L.T in a focaccia is my personal favourite, and the sizing doesn't leave you wanting more. The chicken schnitzel wrap is also a delectable choice. Coffee here is superb, and the fact that they offer large mugs is a bonus - the more the better! In addition to hot beverages, the cafe also makes smoothies on demand with your choice of ingredients. My girlfriend loves their freshly squeezed orange juice and carrot smoothies, and although the combination of the two may be off-putting, it's surprisingly good. The only criticism I can make of this place is that they don't stay open too long passed lunchtime and are closed on weekends, which is a downer if you're hoping to grab a late lunch or a weekend brunch.

There's a few tables if you've got time to sit down, and apparently they've got a wifi connection, but I'm not sure if it's free or not, as I didn't have the time to reconfigure my phone to check it out. I'll be going back again next time I'm nearby and in need of a hot drink.

If you love good quality food, you'll love Norwood Fine Foods…read more They stock really delicious small goods, pates, a huge array of cheese which can be cut to order and lots of other t'riffics - sweet and savoury. All the staff are passion foodies and will happily chat about different products on offer and let you try before you decide. They do an amazing trade at lunch time with their hugely popular baguettes. When I worked at Kent Town, I would drive past a dozen other sandwich places to buy my lunch here. There are 12 choices filled with all the yummy fillings you see in the display. They are made to order (they're pretty quick) so you can add or change any filling you like. Baguettes are around the $8 to $10 mark. Norwood Fine Foods is in the Norwood Mall next to Coles.

Stacked to the rafters with pantry delights (many of them local and South Australian), you'll spot olives, cheese cut to order, dips and so on, as well as gift packs for the food lovers in your life. Personally, I prefer to head down to the Central Markets for my small good needs (cheaper, more variety) but this place is a good second for a local option. They also yummy take away foods, like the baguettes that Rani mentioned. My hot tip: the kranskys here are GOOD. Yummy and made on the spot so they're fresh and good quality, though they don't offer a lot of toppings or chili sauce which makes me a little bit sad.

Back then Parkside was a bit dingy, a bit boho and very multicultural - Greek and Italian families predominated. Fast forward 25 years and Parkside has now been gentrified and and is a bit yuppiefied but blessedly Duthy St deli harks back to its deli origins and not just in name only. Vasili our host, has been smoothly operating a very successful cafe here for a number of years. Good service, well trained baristas, efficient chefing on view and a consistent, reliable extremely well presented selection of breakfast and lunch cold and hot items. Shrewdly but thankfully very competitively priced in a locale that could cough up more. Always good and always fresh -congratulations on maintaining the tradition in a slice of slightly out of the way suburbia. PS I do miss the Haigh's dark chocolate buttons though that used to accompany the coffee (I'd be prepared to pay a little more to have the chance to drop one in to create a gooey chocolaty melting moment on top of my latte/cappuccino froth). Ah - those were the days. Sigh!

Especially got a laugh from the visible work 'notice board' reminding wait staff to generally stop being idiots and stay off their phones during service piled amongst other threats. Does explain the faultless service on their part. Food is pricey but utterly amazing, the space is huge and the service is awesome so ruling with an iron fist must be working for them! Coffee was made by who I assume was the owner as he exuded the kind of confidence with a coffee machine only decades could foster. The eggs were perfect, my partners french toast and burger were beautiful and all up it was a great and riotous experience. Will be back!

The décor is groovy, the staff are simply lovely, and the atmosphere is just so inviting. What is on offer here? There is lots to choose from, but what grabs your attention first is the vibrant and colourful salads on display. Now, I am a lover of cafes that make an effort to make a hearty salad. And boy to they deliver; beans, quinoa, lentils... you name it! You can order a salad to be accompanied by stuffed mushrooms, lasagne, frittata, stuffed tomatoes, and just wow! They are not all about the salads though, they also offer some pretty amazing smelling soup, toasted Turkish bread sandwiches and wraps. I even got my hands on a healthy salted caramel slice. Now, the verdict: The salad was seasoned well and plentiful! And I mean plentiful! If you want a big lunch, stop here.
