Good place for something different than the same ole same ole. Kinda boojie for my taste. I got the Caesar salad with chicken. I wanted the lamb meatballs with a side salad because of dietary concerns but they don't do substitutions so I just went with the salad. We went in thinking this was a Italian Restaurant. It not he did have couple of pasta dishes on his menu. It not steak house also. It is Lugo's menu and it is very nice place to have a special date or to take special guest. It is on the $$$ side. Your meal for 2 is going to be $70 to $100 before tip. The food was worth it. Lugo is very much in control of the food coming out of the kitchen. Only down side is if they have large tables it is little slow on getting food out. We had 6 people and there was plenty of 4 person tables right next to each other and other tables that seat more yet they told us we weren't allowed to eat there. Can't say enough good things about my dinner. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had the Salmon. Both dishes were cooked to perfection. The fish had wonderful texture and flavor. Lugos is an absolute gem. Our go to restaurant for any special occasion dinner. I often choose lugos for lunch dates as well as for pick up. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is always perfect. Dickson is lucky to have such a wonderful high brow restaurant. My favorite lunch is the meatball sub. Favorite dinner is the salmon. Hands down a great experience. I love downtown Dickson; it's such a quaint and humbling town. From store fronts to southern hospitality; it is truly a great spot for small business owners. I had heard great things from one of my former employees. I just hadn't had the time to make it down there. We went last week and oh, my, gosh was it worth every penny. Upon walking in, I immediately loved the open environment. You see the kitchen and your food being made. We got sat and my eyes started to wander around the space. The walls are decorated by local artist paintings, which are for sale. The tables are set in a formal manner. We had never been so I let our server know. She explained how everything on the menu is scratch made and made fresh every day. The food itself is bought from local farmers to give it that extra fresh taste. The dinner feature each day is picked that afternoon, where victor (the owner/chef) comes up with it. I love the touch of local businesses helping each other out. We ordered the cilantro lime dip with plantain chips. I normally don't like white sauces because of their bases, but this sauce was delicious. You could taste the fresh ingredients. For our entrees, I got the lamb meatballs and my date got the ground sirloin lasagna. The plate presentation of each plate was magnificent. The lasagna itself was a HUGE portion. Both entrees were delicious. Owner victor mingled amongst the guests as well as prepared food. He came to check on us and got us some more bread. Even the bread tasted amazing and fresh; likely from local bakery in town. Seriously great food and experience. I kept repeating how much I liked everything. Definitely worth stopping in. Absolutely delicious! The calamari in cornmeal was wonderful and different. We ate it with the aioli a treat we learned in Dubrovnik. The special was a Jambalaya that I have never had it's' equal. The broth was bursting with flavor that did not overwhelm the meats which were a smoked pork chop, PEI Mussels, and shrimp. My husband had the filet which he said was divine as the shrimp scampi another guest ordered. I had the grilled salmon on a sweet potato coconut cake and bed of spinach! Need I say more. The chef cane out to greet us and check on things. The urban chic decor is reminiscent of a restaurant in NYC or Kansas City! A true gem! read more

I'm honestly not sure which was better: the food or the people. The food was great. I had lasagna and it was a huge portion. My wife had the salmon and she loved the combination with the cranberries and sweet potatoes. And the bread. Oh my. Not quite a biscuit but it was nearly perfect with the herbed butter. Wow...I hate that we waited so long to come here but it was so worth it when we finally did! They are only open for limited hours during certain days of the week/weekend so plan ahead. Laura was our server and was great! Very attentive and kind. We started with the pork wontons with bbq flare. Think pull pork BBQ Sandwich with crunchy coleslaw and put it in a crispy wonton...yum! We both got starter salads, the house and the wedge and both were fantastic and topped with homemade dressings that I wish I could of bought to use at home. For dinner we got the Lasagne and the Chicken Cordon Bleu. Outstanding! I ate way more than I should because I didn't want to stop. The Owner/Chef stopped by twice to see how things were and we gave him our praises for sure! Thank you for a wonderful dining and customer service experience! read more

Lugo's came highly recommended, so glad to finally give it a try. First off, the cocktails were excellent! Pear martini and peach tea. It was fun to watch them being made. Wish we could have sampled more of them. BBQ empanada with BBQ dipping sauce were our appetizers. Beautiful crust and shredded meat interior. They were good. The biscuits were outstanding, hat's off to the baker. Entrée was Sherry Chicken Pasta and Shrimp & Grits. The pasta dish was very good. Plenty of chicken in the dish. The accompanying bread was non-descript. We wanted more biscuits. The shrimp dish was good. Not the usual style I have been used to, this was more savory with cooked onions and bell peppers, and a small portion of grits. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, but one still had a pretty good piece of shell on it. No big deal. My only criticism was the server. She was not engaged, appeared distracted. Mentioned the daily fish special as an afterthought. Another server at an adjacent table really explained the menu, wine list, favorite dishes and described the trout. Being first timers, unlike most everyone else in the restaurant, this would have been very helpful. A definite "date night" restaurant and we'll give it another try. read more

The service was great, the drinks were good and the food was excellent! I ordered the sherry chicken pasta and would go back to Dickson just for that meal again.
