I went to Lugos for lunch today. I have heard wonderful things but it was my first visit. The chicken salad wrap was delicious and the plantain chips were crunchy and satisfying. Service was friendly. I will definitely return and will try dinner, as well! Highly recommend. read more

What a wonderful place for an exquisite dining experience! Following up a recommendation from some folks from Dickson we met recently, we made a reservation at Lugos. Their bar knows how to make a classic Cosmopolitan and Old Fashioned, both of which we enjoyed. We ordered a delicious clams casino dish for appetizer. Then came orders for a lasagna entree and chicken cordon bleu. Both were made to perfection and really remarkable. We capped off with an express martini. Service was prompt and attentive. During casual conversation with our sever, we learned how much she enjoyed working for the husband and wife team that owns Lugos. Wow! You know how sometimes you have really high expectations when trying a restaurant that comes highly recommended - and they can almost never be met? Well, that was not my experience at Lugo's last night. Every single bite was delicious. We started with the plantain chips, and a lasagna filled empanada - and a house salad with a citrus dressing that was amazing. I ordered the salmon entree and my husband had the lasagna- both were incredible. We ended with the house made tiramisu--- which was beyond yummy! The atmosphere was nice- I love that the kitchen is open and you see all the food coming out. Service was great as well. I highly recommend a visit to Lugo's - my new favorite for a Saturday night date night. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious EVERY part of my meal was while at Lugo's! I started with the lasagna empanada which had the most perfect crust and filling! I am from NY and love authentic Puerto Rican empanadas so I was only sad that there wasn't a traditional empanada available on the menu. Maybe next time! For my main course I had salmon that was cooked to perfection topped with a cranberry chutney and plated over spinach and a potato coconut cake. I am sure I am not describing it as beautifully as the menu did--but what's important here is that every ingredient was amazing! I was too full for dessert but am certain I would not have been disappointed. The chef was also very friendly and came over to check in on how we were enjoying our meal. Phenomenal! Biscuits brought to the table were fluffy and melted in your mouth, no butter needed. Ceasar salad was fresh the onto the Trout and Salmon that was fresh, flavors blended well together and paired with the right vegetables and sweet potato cake. Found this place on Yelp... and like always, Yelpers never disappoint. This place was on point! I ordered the calamari and the homemade Marinera was delicious. The breading on it isn't like breading I've ever had before on calamari. It's more like cornmeal consistency. It wasn't bad, but was a little more gritty than I like. However, it was fresh and tasted good. My husband ordered the salmon and oh my god. I have to say, it was the best salmon I'd ever tried. It was cooked perfectly. Not too raw but not over cooked. The outside was seared to perfection. It was so crispy and sweet. The sweet potato coconut cake underneath was also phenomenal. The dessert list looked ok, but nothing really that struck me as something I had to have. It's a little pricy for Dickson standards, but it's truly worth every penny. I will definitely be back. Visited Lugo's on a Friday evening with a larger group. We did have reservations which is a good idea, particularly on weekends or with large parties. Situated in downtown Dickson, easy parking. Staff welcomed us warmly and we were seated when we arrived. Our server was very friendly, patiently answering all our questions regarding menu options and specials. Several in the party ordered salads, wedge, Caesar and spinach. All were very well executed. I'm not a personal fan of the wedge salad, but I have to admit these looked great! Entrees all sounded good. I landed on the lamb Meatballs (at the recommendation of our server, thank you!) and they were excellent. Very tender, great flavor and served with sautéed mushrooms, green beans and corn in a red sauce. Just wishing I had a nice piece of bread to soak up that last bit of sauce on my plate! Tasted the Sherry chicken pasta also and it was very well done. The meal does take time so plan accordingly. It makes a nice place for an evening vs. a quick meal before you head somewhere else. A pleasant surprise for dinner while in the area. This is a gem! I was excited to see the daily specials included a wide range of options and went for the lamb rack. It was very well prepared, great flavor and a respectable portion size for the price. I was skeptical of the empanadas on the menu since in my mind it didn't fit with my expectations of what would be served here but they were excellent! I had one of the maritini's and likely should have stuck to the large wine selection. If I lived in Dickson, this would definitely be one of my regular spots for excellent food. Glad to have stopped by for dinner and hope to return soon. The service is excellent and so is the ambience. read more

Appears Lugo's is struggling these days. Was looking forward to a visit today and we stopped in only to be told they were full. Only two tables were seated out of 20. More staff then patrons. Not very friendly or welcoming. We stopped by across the street at House of Wine and they were so nice. I think we will have to update our favorite stops. read more
