Wow this place is absolutely fabulous! I would definitely recommend for breakfast/brunch with a party of about 2-4 people!! Since it's very small, I wouldn't recommend for groups due to the speed of the kitchen and the small space. With this being said, you will definitely need to expect a bit of a wait time for food and possibly to be seated but it is WELLL worth the wait!!! The pricing is also amazing (pretty cheap) and you definitely get amazing food for the price! I will definitely be back!! read more

Very disappointed with my experience here, waited over 30 minutes for breakfast that I didnt get to enjoy. But from the looks of the food that was delivered around me we didnt miss much. I live in the community and can say that I will not be checking out this place again. read more

Great place for vegetarians! I came here for brunch with a friend who is vegan because she is easily able to find options here. I got the pesto and sun dried tomato scramble and it was tasty and a good sized portion. The staff was very friendly and answered our questions and was attentive throughout the meal. It's a good place to go for brunch without having to wait hours on the weekend. read more

Decided to spend the afternoon in Roscoe Village, and decided to stop in here for lunch since one of our friend's vegan. The ambiance was cute, they had plenty of great food options, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. We shared vegan pancakes which was surprisingly good and tasted like any other pancake I've had. I got a wrap that was very flavorful, filling, and was very delicious. I'll definitely come back here and try a few other items that looked really good. read more

Food was really good, and the cafe itself is decorated so cute. It seemed quite busy with indoor and outdoor customers and only ONE server! I felt so bad for her but she did her best to keep up. One big complaint is the bathroom. It really needs to be DEEP cleaned from corner to corner and I don't understand why a note is taped to the wall above the toilet that says keep the toilet seat up. HUH?? why ? Reminded of my X telling me to put the seat up for him after I used the bathroom. read more

Hands down the best brunch we've had in a long time. We had a big group of 11 with a lot of needs (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc.) and all of us unanimously agree that it was delicious! Every order came out right and the service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back read more

honestly, really just a-ok... their breakfast is where they shine. but lunch - needs a bit of work. "chicken" is just tofu cut differently. their wraps - everything is mushy and doused in sauce; they aren't consistent with their description either. please serve a cold wrap - lettuce shouldn't be warm :( read more

This is a cute little spot in Roscoe Village. They have vegan options which is really convenient. I ordered the raspberry pancakes (recommended by a Yelper ) and they were delicious! My only lack of a star was it took a half hour for the waitress to come over and take our order. We were one of the first groups to arrive before the rush and she took everyone else's orders that came in after us before taking ours. (Huge Pet Peeve of mine) I know all the restaurants are short staffed, so I was trying to be patient, but that's just Table Waiting 101. Other than that, great place, great food. read more

Nice little place in Roscoe Village. Vegan and vegetarian choices, the "chicken" I had tasted like the real thing with an incredible amount of flavor. Friendly staff. Service was good. Food preparation time seemed a little long for the number of patrons in the restaurant but it wasn't awful in anyway. I'd go back without hesitation. read more

Nice little cozy spot. The owner is super friendly and even recommended a few things off the menu. We started with chai tea. It was an amazing cup of tea. My partner said it was the best chai she ever had. She also had the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was spot on. Her only complaint was the eggs were not poached. She was looking for the runny yolk but it was hard. Other than that, she was in heaven. I had the ultimate combo meal. Everything was good. Pancake was delicious. We also had the French toast flight. The toast was nice and thick and not smothered in toppings. However, I thought it could've used a bit more topping. I don't like it smothered but I would like more than 2 blueberries or raspberries. They were ok. To me they lacked something I just can put my finger on it. Overall we were satisfied and we're definitely going back to try more stuff. read more

Simply put, the food here is clean and delicious. We had the Southwest Scramble and Banana Walnut pancakes both prepared vegan. They carry vegan cheeses, meatless options, sauces and salad dressings. Most of the French toast and pancakes on the menu can be prepared vegan. And they have several options to satisfy everyone in your group no matter what their food preferences are. The friendly and prompt service was just the icing on the cake! read more

This place is amazing. 100% vegetarian with an extensive vegan menu as well, but they're not big-box style. It's still a sit-down restaurant. Their food is the opposite of bland - Everything is spiced to perfection. Their vegan French toast is some of the best French toast I've ever had in my life, vegan or not. This is one of the only places around here that gets me excited about returning to again and again. Can't wait until it's patio weather, again. The only thing that would make it better is if they had longer hours and a dinner menu. read more

I absolutely love Lucy's. Bright and inviting dining room. Delicious food. I miss the 'neat loaf' they had as Victory's Banner... but still find great dishes on the menu. read more

OMG - this place is a dream come true. I'm vegan, but still want some of those breakfast/brunch meals like I had in my non-vegan days. I found them here. I got the Ultimate Combo: comes with eggs or tofu, pancakes or French toast, and veggie sausage or bacon. It was divine! Want to see a picture? Well, this skank ate it too quickly and didn't get one The staff was amazing and the location so adorable. We will definitely be back. read more

I LOVE breakfast and this place is the place to go for a great breakfast. Vegan or plant based, it's got it all for a great price. You won't leave hungry read more

Honestly, the french toast here might be the best french toast I've ever had. The faux-sausage and gouda omelette is also killer. The staff is always super friendly and are really sweet to my 5 year-old daughter. The cafe itself is clean and really nice. I really love eating here. If this spot was in my neighborhood, I'd probably be here every weekend for breakfast. read more

Wow you must try their Blueberry French Toast is is amazing. The owners created a great atmosphere and decor for their cafe Highly recommend

Everything was good. Order came as expected. Delivery was speedy. But the menu was very confusing and VERY unclear. It needs a lot of updating and clarification. Spoke with the owner and was told our issues had happened before but he never said anything about making menu adjustments. Ordered a combo that came with real egg/cheese but came with vegan bacon but wasn't labeled as vegan on the menu online; also ordered the Sowthwest skillet which is labeled 'Vegan. Gluten free' AFTER the description but comes with real egg/cheese/Mayo as the default but doesn't say that this NEEDS to be altered to be vegan. The descriptions and it's vegan labeling for vegan options and menu items on multiple platforms need to updating and clarification. Uploaded photo of the skillet option online for reference. The fruit salad was on point and French toast (made vegan by clarification and given the option was really good. read more

The French toast is also amazing. read more

My husband and I had been going to Victory's Banner for years, so we were quite concerned when we learned several years ago that it had been sold and had new owners. I'm happy to report that it is still a wonderful place to eat! For a long time I ordered the soup and salad combo because the soups are always really good and I like their salads. One day I decided on a whim to order the coconut-peanut wrap. It is soooooo good that I now order it almost every time I go, even though I tell myself beforehand that I should really enjoy some of the other dishes. The vegan chocolate muffins, which are now made in-house, are also exceptional. Lucy and Martin, the new owners, are lovely people and clearly care a great deal about the quality of the food and the entire dining experience. They totally understand what it means to eat a plant based diet, and will modify whenever possible, and it's almost always possible. I'm very glad that Lucy's Cafe has carried on many of the Victory's Banner traditions, and equally glad that they have made the restaurant their own. Can't wait for my next coconut-peanut wrap! read more

Think of the worst service you've ever had, multiply it by 10000, and it's this place. If you're not willing to wait 2 hours for food that tastes like it's been sitting out for hours and HORRIBLE service, do not waste your time coming here. My boyfriend and I visited for a the first time this past Saturday very excited to try. We were sat right away and then sat for 30 minutes before someone ever came up to our table. Our server was very unhelpful and was not apologetic in any way. We put our orders in right away and then waited an 1+ for our food to come out. During that time, our server never came up to our table to refill water or see how we were doing. After our food came out, the cheese on the Southwest Skillet was not even melted and the vegan meat tasted like dog food. My boyfriends order was 3 eggs and a side of potatoes and somehow took 20 minutes longer to come out? We were so frustrated with the service, food, and experience that we just wanted to leave and go somewhere else that was atleast pleasant as we were starving at this point. It took us 15 minutes to get the servers attention to please cash us out. We were clearly upset and had not touched our food and our server did not ask us how our experience was, how the food was, or how she could make it better. She simply dropped the check and walked away. I am so disappointed with this as it was something I was really looking forward to. Needless to say, do NOT come here. P.s. the experience was so bad that I downloaded this app and made my first review ever... it was THAT bad read more

Vegan pancakes are such a rare find. Amazing vegan pancakes are even more so. My tween daughter's new favorite place.

This Place is incredible. It is one of my favorites. I have eaten here multiple days in a row many times and the cravings continue. The French toast is top notch. Salads are super Fresh. And the omelets are quite large and delicious. On the Veggie side.... my all time favorites are the Eggless Wonder #1 and #2. The pesto in #2 is the winning combo. I add black beans to both those dishes and Nirvana is attained. read more

Go on a weekday for breakfast. Popular with the hipster neighborhood, prepare for a good wait if you want a breakfast better than you can cook yourself on the weekend. Visiting from out of town and came here for lunch. Food was great - waiter recommended their blackened "chicken" wrap and it was delicious. Love how they had some kids books on hand to keep my kids busy. Only reason for 4 stars is the buser was hovering and clearing the table while we were still visiting-- and there was no one in the restaurant so it was strange that they were trying to usher us out. Other than that, a really good experience read more

I would rate Lucy's as the best breakfast restaurant ever. The staff is so friendly and the food is fabulous. Check out the menu online. Many great choices.
