I've been wanting to try Lucy Blue for the longest time. So glad that they opened one up near our area because I don't go downtown too often. Lucy blue is New York Style pizza. Their menu has a lot to offer. Sandwiches, Hoagies, Salads. Appetizers, build your own pizza, gourmet pizzas and desserts. The place inside is small however they are few seats if you want to dine in. We got our pizza to go. For 16" cheese pizza, you can't beat the price! We just got the standard red sauce. Sometimes simple is good! When we got home the pizza was still hot and the crust was amazing! Love their signature sauce. I can say we are going to be back and I want to try other items on the menu. First time trying. They have a Monday and Tuesday special where you buy 1 large pizza, and you get a free 1 item medium. I ordered it and got it to go. When I picked it up, it was nice and warm. The thai pizza was interesting. It wasn't as spicy as expected, which made me happy. It was interesting looking. Both pizzas had a unique crust that seemed different eventhough I think they only had 1 crust. The pizzas were enjoyable. Customer service was excellent. It beats the chain pizzas. They had cookies and brownies for sale as well. Will try different pizzas in the future. read more

Cincinnati is an interesting pizza town. Our claim to fame, as it were, is regional chain LaRosa's. Its success cannot be denied, but surf any Reddit thread or Facebook thread discussing Cincinnati pizza, and you'll find a particular disdain for our hometown pizzeria, with most negative comments saying it's overrated, the sauce is too sweet, or it smells of feet/vomit. Yes really. Our other regional chain with some notoriety is Dewey's, a more "upscale" style pizza joint that appeals to hipsters and families.  The seasonal Tito Santana taco pizza is a revelation. Dewey's also has its detractors citing price as the main complaint. The rest of the scene is local chains like Angilos and Grammas serving serviceable "homestyle" pizzas and steak hoagies, a handful of wood-fired pizza places, and an even smaller handful of New York-style pie places. And of course national chains like Domino's and Pizza Hut. Among the crowded scene is Lucy Blue. A local micro chain with two locations serving something between Angilo's and Dewey's. Lucy Blue built it reputation with pizza windows in downtown and Mt. Lookout. More recently, their two locations are in the suburbs of Anderson Township and in the always-happening Over the Rhine area in the urban basin. Lucy Blue's menu skews more toward Dewey's than Gramma's. Just two pages featuring standard pizzas and expected toppings, fresh salads, a few sandwiches including the requisite steak hoagie and a few appetizers. Missing is the litany of fried items that crowd Angilo's and Grammas menus. The focus here is on freshness and simplicity. And fresh is what you get--in spades. Every item we've tried has been fresh and high-quality. The crust is bready and structurally sound. The sauce is fresh and tomatoey. The cheese has a bite and pull that you'd expect from higher-quality pizza kitchens. Toppings like pepperoni, sausage, and veggies all seem high-quality and tasty. The steak hoagie is much better than the sloppy, buttery messes you get at most places. The meat was tasty, and the toppings were crisp and plentiful. The breadsticks were very good. They were short but heavy and flavorful, and the sauce accompanying them was chunky and flavorful. The salad was bright, green, and fresh! There is a tiny spicy bite to everything, including the delicious ranch dressing. Overall, Lucy Blue is an excellent option among Cincinnati's many pizza spots. My lady and I are always looking for new pizza spots to try out. Recently, I remembered that this location was about to open just before that dreaded COVID-19 hit, so of course, that opening was delayed a little. Still, since it's open now, we thought we'd give it a try, and we're glad we did. Great pizza at great prices! Who doesn't love that? We decided to get a 16" classic cheese pizza to go before the Lions/49ers game. Their menu has lots of pizza options as well as hoagies, salads, and desserts. Calling in to order was super easy and the employee I spoke to was very helpful. He said it'd be about 20 minutes, so not long at all. When I got there, the place itself wasn't big at all, with only five tables and short bar seating. They also serve beer and wine. When my order was ready, I could smell it through the pizza box, and it smelled delicious. And when my lady and I tried it at home, we were instant fans. The sauce has lots of garlic in it which is always good to me. Plus it was loaded with cheesy goodness (almost as much as my sense of humor). We definitely devoured that pizza! Excellent pizza spot and one with great prices. Our pizza was only $15.95. I think we might try their hoagies next time or get a different kind of pizza. First time stopping in after discovering them at Eastside Pride. The shop is small, with just a two or three tables and a large counter. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. I did have a little order issue, but it was quickly resolved by the manager (owner?). I ordered a 16" two topping (pepperoni and sausage) pizza and two brownies. I did not order ahead, but my order took only about 15 minutes. It was nicely packaged and cut fairly evenly. The thin crust was crispy and had a nice chew and the toppings were just enough to satisfy. The overall flavor was a bit too spicy for me (full disclosure, I prefer mild and not a fan of spice) and my husband, but it was tasty. The brownies were great; moist and chocolatey. Customer service is 100% here, really great. This location has barely been open a week but they're so friendly, open to recommendations and delicious. They're still building up their aesthetics so I'm excited to come back and see some advertisements or many local sports memorabilia; Turpin and Anderson. There's a handful of tables to eat at and a small bar. Not bad for a couple of buddies. Pizza itself was great, hubs and I easily split a 12in with an extra slice to go. We went with the mild fresh sauce, which I prefer. The traditional spicy sauce does have a kick and I know my kiddo would not like it. Glad they let us sample and glad they created the mild sauce! I do like my cheese just a bit more caramelized but I know they're working with new to them equipment. A few more minutes in the oven would've been great as the inside sauce wasn't super warm. I'm looking forward to trying LB again once they're established because they're doing good things so far! Also keeping an eye out for gluten free crust in the future! If you're GF, please recommend! Ordered a pizza online and when I went to pick it up, they had no record of the order. I had the confirmation email showing it was ordered for the correct store. The manager wasn't there and there were two young employees working. They told me the online order system has had some errors since they changed over to the new system. I ended up having to wait 30 mins for the pizza. The pizza is good, but it's frustrating to spend as much as I did on the pizza only to find out the order didn't go through. I got charged for the pizza and was able to show the credit card confirmation. I left feedback via the email confirmation and expected to hear from the manager, but never did. The employees said they also reached out to the manager, but didn't hear back while I was still at the store. I'll think twice before ordering from there again. It's not worth the $$$ when your order isn't ready and you have to wait that long for the order. read more

Delicious! We ordered a supreme, buffalo chicken, and cheese with the custom dough as well as a gluten free pepperoni. Spouse and kids loved it! The unique spicy sauce and ingredients were flavorful, and I really liked how the pizza baked in their oven. I enjoyed the Lucy Salad as well. I don't usually order Buffalo Chicken pizza but this was the best I've had from anywhere! Friendly and courteous staff. Neighborhood feel to location. Unique all around! read more

This place has great reviews which makes me even more sad and confused. We just moved over here and were excited to try because it's so close to us. The pepperoni pizza was missing pepperoni on half. The Mexican pizza was burnt on the bottom. The cheese tasted sour and like it was old, not sure if they mix the mozzarella with blue cheese or something?? The crust also tasted like someone dumped way too much basil and herbs in it, it took a while to get rid of the after taste. I'm the type of person to say even bad pizza is good pizza, but this unfortunately I would not eat again, especially after paying so much money. I didn't call and try to get a new pizza because we just didn't want to eat any more of it sadly there was some young girls working so I'm not sure if we got the teenage girl special or what, but don't think we will be back even though it's so close read more

Every ingredient is flavorful and delicious! I ordered a pizza with Lucy Original sauce, sausage, mushrooms and goat cheese. The crust was chewy with a perfect bite and it had flavor instead of the usual flat flour taste. The house sauce was a spicy tomato blend that made a delicious taste and texture combination. (I'd recommend pairing with a Sangiovese or Rhône wine but beer would also be an excellent choice.) There is also a mild sauce and an olive oil based sauce but I am sold on this one. Each topping was excellent - even the mozzarella was more inviting than other pizzas. Caesar salad was really a meal in itself. Fresh lettuce, a few tomatoes, delicious and crunchy croutons, some grated parmesan and a fantastic dressing. Every ingredient was excellent! read more
