I wish more people talked about this place. Creamy spinach, sweet corn, filet mignon, ny strip, asparagus, fried calamari, and fresh bread was what we ordered. THEN THEIR BIRTHDAY DESSERT PLATTER?!?! WHAAAAT?! I want to become a member here if I could, I will be back. Can't forget the strong drinks! Yes, yes must try!

The place has a nice ambiance and the staff are very kind. Not sure if we went on an off day, but all the food just didn't taste good. Might come back in the future to give it another try.

Delicious! Seated right away with a reservation on a weekday evening. Dishes were delicious and were comfort food driven...service was excellent. Extensive list of wines by the glass. Food portions were generous, we went home with leftovers. Glad I tried it and will def be back! Thank you Lucky's :-)

Very disappointed, first time coming here to eat a burger. Burger was dry with very old lettuce and pickles.

    Disappointed face

It took way too long for the food to arrive, and it wasn't worth the wait. There were only three other tables with customers, and no one came by to check on us. We love the Montecito location, as it delivers on all fronts every time we visit. Something as basic as the burger was overcooked, and the ingredients did not taste fresh. We won't be going to the Malibu location again.

Lucky's Malibu is definitely a high-end American restaurant, and it lives up to its reputation in terms of elegant interior and overall classy atmosphere. The food itself was excellent, and the service was friendly when we did get to interact with our server. However, there were some things that took away from the experience. We had to wait quite a while before being seated, and after all that waiting, we were placed in a very awkward spot--almost like a side alley where servers were constantly passing by but not really able to stop at our table easily. Because of that, we often couldn't get proper attention (couldn't get water refill because nobody is coming) from our server, and it was hard to even make eye contact when we needed something. Even though our server was polite when present, the overall service felt lacking given the level of the restaurant. On top of that, the expectation for tipping felt a bit excessive, which left us with mixed feelings. That being said, the food was still very satisfying, and I can see why this place is popular. But for the price point and reputation, I had hoped for a smoother dining experience.

Lucky's is a steakhouse in a lovely area in Malibu. We stopped in for lunch while shopping. The staff was friendly and welcoming, so we stayed a little longer than we had planned to. This establishment offered you indoor and outdoor options to dine. We choose indoors because we wanted to view the interior ambiance. The interior displayed a classic look of a steakhouse with an impressive wine display.

Ribeye 8.56/10- got it with peppercorn sauce, it was good but it wasn't amazing. The ribeye wasn't as tender as it normally is but it was buttery. I can't really describe it but something was just missing compared to other ribeyes I've had here before. The peppercorn sauce was tasty, but it didn't have that wow factor I was expecting. Crab Cocktail 7.25/10- I liked that they gave pretty big lumps of crab but they put so much lettuce in it which they didn't do before, so they've definitely made the portion smaller. I wish that the cocktail sauce was on the side instead of mixed in because I prefer to control how much I use. The crab itself was fresh but the presentation wasn't as good as usual. Calamari 10/10- this was absolutely perfect! The calamari was so tender and not chewy at all, which is exactly what you want. The breading was crispy and light, and the marinara sauce was delicious. This is consistently one of my favorite appetizers here and they nailed it again. Fries 7.86/10- these were good but honestly I feel like their other sides are better. They were crispy and seasoned well, but nothing special. If you're going to get a side here, I'd definitely recommend trying something else. Hash Brown Potatoes with Gruyere Cheese 9.26/10- these were incredible! The potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, and the Gruyere cheese was melted perfectly throughout. Such a rich and delicious side that paired amazingly with everything else. French Onion Soup 9.85/10- this was so good! The broth was rich and flavorful with perfectly caramelized onions. The cheese on top was bubbly and golden, and the bread was perfectly toasted. This is comfort food at its finest. Mr Lucky Cocktail 10/10- made with Casamigos Blanco Tequila, a splash of St. Germain Liqueur, fresh squeezed lime juice, and a dash of sea salt, served up. This cocktail was absolutely incredible! The tequila was smooth, the St. Germain added perfect floral sweetness, and the lime and salt balanced everything beautifully. This is my go-to drink here for a reason. Espresso Martini 10/10- this was perfection! The coffee flavor was rich and bold, and it was perfectly balanced with the vodka. Not too sweet but had that perfect coffee kick. It was served at the perfect temperature and had great presentation. Chocolate Cake 9.66/10- this was so decadent and rich! The cake was moist and the chocolate flavor was intense in the best way. Apple Crumble 8.54/10- this was really good! The apples were tender and perfectly spiced, and the crumble topping was crispy and buttery. It was warm and comforting, though not quite as amazing as some of the other desserts. Cheesecake 8.82/10- this was delicious! The cheesecake was creamy and rich with that perfect tangy flavor. The crust was crispy and the texture was spot on. A classic dessert done really well. Overall this place continues to be one of my favorites, even though some dishes weren't quite up to their usual standards tonight. The cocktails and certain dishes like the calamari and hash browns were absolutely incredible as always! I do prefer the Montecito location though as I think the food is better and more consistent. It reminds me more of a New York steakhouse, and they have certain items only at that location like their soufflé which is amazing. Instagram: @hungrytamale

My husband and I cam here for our Anniversary Dinner tonight. Usually we go to the Montecito location, but we wanted to try this newer location out. It did not disappoint. The service was amazing, the staff was so kind and friendly. Our waiter Dan, made wonderful recommendations. The seared scallops were one of the best things I have eaten all year! They came with this delightful apricot chutney sauce. We almost ordered a second round. The drinks and our main course were very well executed. The ambiance was perfect. The chef Jonathan stopped by our table. Turns out he used to be a chef for the dodgers. I can definitely see why the food was so well prepared. Thank you for making our evening so memorable. Our dinner was fantastic and we will be back!

Steak night at Lucky's Malibu! Perfect filet, classic sides... we basically cleaned the plate. Came hungry, left very happy. Lucky's never misses. PS: My potato couldn't fit in the photo- it had its own ZIP code. Special thanks to Dominic, who always goes above and beyond for guests.

    I like the embroidered napkins.

I just happened to be in the area when I stumbled upon this restaurant. It was around 6pm on a Friday evening and this place was quite popular. I sat at the bar and Anthony took very good care of me. I had a drink and an appetizer, which was the fried calamari, which is a bit on the bready side, but still crispy and tasty. Anthony suggested the featured dessert which was a slice of cherry pie. This tasted like summer. It was a la mode, of course. This was a nice place to sit and have a drink. I'd love to come back for some steak.

Lucky Burger with sweet potato fries

Such a lovely evening! Loved the dining experience at Lucky's! Our waitress was excellent. Great service all around. I can't say enough about the service when it is very hard to find these days. 5 star service!! Another huge plus was that it was not loud at all. The ambience is bright and welcoming versus a dark steakhouse. We had a burger, ribs and salad. The portions are really large. Everything was delicious. I'll be back.

It's a it of a drive from Long Beach, but for a special occasion, well worth it! If you live or are visiting locally (Malibu or Santa Monica), easy and pretty drive North on PCH. Our adult son made our reservation in Open Table and noted it was for a special occasion, a Birthday (mine). Nowadays, that note is rarely recognized by restaurants and most use Open Table for their reservations! Upon arrival at the hostess station, we were asked who's birthday and said Happy Birthday, and again by the Hostess that brought us to our table, and then by our sever. I felt so special and acknowledged! It's these small gestures that truly make the difference and a very lasting impression! Casey was our server and he was excellent. Helped to make suggestions and answer questions. Checked back often with each course to make sure everything was as expected. The other staff helping to serve and bus, very friendly and helpful. For drinks, I ordered a Mimosa and my husband and son both ordeted cappuccino, all excellent. They have an excellent cocktail and wine menu. Rolls came out piping hot, nice touch! For appetizers, we started with Crab Cakes and Heirloom Tomatoes with Burrata. Burrata is house made and it shows! Both were so good and I would highly recommend ordering. They have many great options for starters! For entrees, I ordered the Chocolate Chip Challah French Toast. It came with Chicken Sausage and Frsh Fruit. Too much to eat after appetizers (generous portions) but happily took some home. The chicken sausage was very good. First time I have had chicken sausage and liked it! Our son ordered The Eggs Benedict (with prosciutto). He lived the Hollandaise saucen had a kick. I tried his potaoes, red roasted and very good. He also had fresh fruit with his entree. It was the first time we had fruit in more than a week (the parasite scare!) and it was wonderful to have fruit one knew was freshly cut (rinds still attached) and tasted so wonderful, really missed it! My husband ordered the Hangar Steak and Eggs. He absolutely loved the steak and the accompanying Avocado Cilantro! There are so any great options for Brunch Entrees, hard to choose but think.we chose well. We had absolutely no room for dessertsn although the dessert menu looks wonderful! Birthday cake awaiting at home! Our server, Casey, brought out a scoop of Vanilla Bean, house made, with a candle. Again, very nice touch and another way to recognize my birthday! It was delicious! Dinner menu looks wonderful and they have a nice bar area. Wouldn't hesitate to stop by for a deink if I was in the area! The views are absolutely stunning. The restaurant opens up completely the outdoors (sliding glass doors) and has a spacious patio with lots of umbrellas to produce great shade! Parking is Valet, $15 added to your bill, very convenient. Valet waa very polite and friendly. Thank you Geoffrey's for a wonderful Brunch for my birthday!

After looking at pictures of it over the years and the cool interior, I was pretty disappointed to find out we couldn't sit inside, which was pretty much the main draw of why I wanted to go. It was outdoor seating only. Not only was it only outdoor seating, but there was no table service, which made the extremely high prices feel a bit unjustified. The giant portions kind of made up for the prices. The Cesar salad and ribeye were good. But again, the fact that they were served in to-go containers and with no table service made the prices feel like a bit much. The outdoor ambience was pretty nice until- the wasps! There were SO MANY WASPS. We moved tables literally three times and could not get away from them so we eventually to pack up our food and leave. I know there's not much they can do about the wasps but they should at least let people eat inside if the problem is that bad. Overall kinda bummed. Been waiting to go for years and it's like they're doing what they can to charge the most for doing the bare minimum. Wish I could say I'll come back some time when their indoor seating is open, but I really don't think the food is worth the price.

We also arrived early and confirmed our request with the hostess, making it clear that we were more than willing to wait for the next available table. Despite that, the hostess seated us anyway. After speaking with the manager, he and told us to enjoy a drink at the bar while we waited. A few minutes later, the hostess called us over again--only to seat us at a window table on the patio, surrounded by children, furthest away from the water, exactly the area we had said we didn't want. That second seating felt especially rude and almost intentional, as though we were being placed in the least desirable window table because we had spoken up. Whether that was the intent or not, that's how it came across. We were initially told the restaurant doesn't reserve window tables, which is why we arrived early and were happy to wait. The manager later contradicted that, saying window tables are reserved for guests who book months in advance and that, because we had only made our reservation a few days earlier, we were not prioritized. He then insisted my reservation didn't mention a window table or the main dining room, forcing me to pull up my OpenTable reservation to show him that it did. Ironically, we were seated only about 15 minutes after our reservation time. Waiting was never the issue--we simply didn't appreciate being seated twice after repeatedly saying we were happy to wait at the bar. The service itself was fine. However, our server introduced himself by saying he had been told we were "difficult," which was unnecessary. We also had to ask twice for him to confirm a food allergy, one of our drinks was forgotten, and we had to ask twice for the bread basket. Our server asked if we were celebrating anything, and we told him it was our anniversary. They didn't acknowledge it, which was completely fine--we weren't expecting anything special. It just made us wonder why they ask if they have no intention of acknowledging it. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. Poor communication, mishandling of a simple seating request, and inattentive service made what should have been a special anniversary dinner frustrating from start to finish.

The extra time is worth the scenery & serenity...! Valet is the only parking option; they accept credit cards for both the fee and tip. Ocean views from the restaurant are excellent and service has been consistently good on every visit. This visit I ordered the Macadamia-nut and herb crusted sea bass with low-carb sides. The accompanying slaw was surprisingly good. Duke's is a reliable mid-point stop when heading north on the PCH toward Ventura. Recommended.

Very sad Experience, so disappointed none photo was taken…read more We were excited to celebrate our 10th anniversary at Duke's Malibu and made a reservation requesting a window seat. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. Valet was inattentive, the host service felt dismissive, and ignoring our window-seat request, we were told it would be a 40-minute wait if we like to be by the window. Shortly after, another couple arrived and was seated at a window table at my eyes view, which made us feel uncomfortable and question whether we were being treated differently because of our race. Service was also slow and inconsistent. Other tables received menu introductions and specials, while no one explained anything to us. Overall Resturant was very loud ! For such a special occasion, we left very disappointed and very uncomfortable. JUST would not recommend.

I see this place has mixed reviews. I chose 5 stars based on total experience....food plus service…read more First off, the food. I would rate it as a strong 4 - 4.5ish. The elk was cooked perfectly, but needed a more acidic sauce....though tasty, the sauce was a little too sweet, taking away from the elk flavor. The Bison short rib was amazing in this game trip, with the quail, again....cooked well, but not the best flavor. My filet was perfect, and I loved the contrast of the wasabi mashed potatoes. Oh, and sorry...that picture came out blurry. My mom's choice couldn't be made, so the manager and chef accommodated her by altering a dish to something she thoroughly enjoyed. Very cool of them. Our server was attentive, and our water and soda glasses were constantly refilled without being asked. Service was incredible. Definitely a once in awhile/special occasions type place for us normal people...but would happily return

Mother's day brunch was a mess for $800…read more Entrees and service wasn't worth the units. For nearly $100 per person, rib steak that was sous vide to medium, then served nearly well done and completely undersalted is unacceptable for a restaurant asking for this much coin. The steak sandwich was completely reliant on the aoli sauce between the dry ciabatta bread, and again showcasing how underwhelming the steak was by being undersalted. One of our dishes was completely forgotten, and had to be followed up on. Surrounding tables had similar issues. Eggs benedict with smoked salmon was a hit The starter salads / french onion soup and desserts were tasty, with the banana / blueberry bread pudding and tres leches cake being the stars. Avoid this after-thought of a brunch if you can, stick to their dinner menu and enjoy the incredible ambiance that is Saddle Peak Lodge. What a disaster though! For $800, Fogo de Chao, Maestros, Flemmings, even a drive to Alexanders in Pasadena would of been memorable. Shoot, should of just gone to Lure for the 10,000th time, at least it would of offered the same boring consistency. Super disappointed in Saddle Peak Lodge, as my family and I come here 1-2 times a year for dinner. Sadly this experience sums up why their over-all Yelp score is 3.5 stars now, and I'm sadly adding fuel to the fire for what once was one of my favorite restaurants.
