This place has slowly gone down hill. This used to be our favorite restaurant. We have spent a lot of time and money here. They have fired all of our favorite people. The menu changed for the worse and the bar service is TERRIBLE. The prices have skyrocketed! The drinks / shots are basically non existent. The last straw for me today was when I ordered a mimosa and it was being made with ice. I asked for no ice and the response I got was "well it will be a-lot smaller then" AkA...So now they are adding ice to make the drink look it has more in it. So unless you'd like a glass of Oj on ice for $6.17 , DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! read more

Lucky's is a well-known local establishment that has a bit of an identity crisis. At times, it feels like a local watering hole, yet at others like it is trying to cater to higher-end dining folks. It's not a bad place, but they just don't do anything REALLY well. Just a lot of things decent. It's almost like a locally-owned version of Applebee's. Lucky's adds a 4.9% service premium to the prices on the menu. The excuse used by other restaurants is to cover Covid or inflationary costs without reprinting the menu. In Lucky's case, this charge is printed on the same new menu as their prices. Instead of add 4.9% to their prices, I can only assume they are trying to deceive their customers. Lucky's used to be one of our favorites, but about 18 months ago, their food quality deteriorated. This combined with with this sneaky practice has removed them from our go to list. read more

Witness the bartender scratching in HIS BEHIND!!! Like literally in his pants and start looking around to make sure nobody saw him. Like, duh, people are going to see you. The bar is right in the center of the restaurant dude, and you are too. And he serves people drinks with that hand of his. I didn't want to ever drink anything from him and make me think about how other employees are like. Are they dirty like that. Some are rude too, slam my drink on my table, and walk away. We were very impressed by food and service. After a long day at a tournament the team was wanting to eat together which is hard on a Friday night. Lucky's was packed and they managed to find space outside for a large group. Our waitress and the wait staff were great. Food and drinks came out quickly and was good. We ordered most of the menu items. Everything was great and a team of teenager boys were well fed. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped there for breakfast at the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the kitchen sink omelet. It was huge and covered in hollandaise sauce. It also came with some great hash browns. My only complaint would be the toast was not buttered, and I was only given 1 pat of butter for two thick slices. I would definitely go back. I was back a few weeks ago. No more hash browns. Just firs potatoes that were overly salted. Very disappointed. The omelet was still good though, but the potatoes ruined it for me. Hash Browns are back! All is right with the world again. read more

My wife and I were down in Bloomington to get an oil change. We walked a mile over to a place I have been wanting to visit for a year or so. Lucky 13! I ordered a tall Surly Furious when I got there. ($8.50, yikes!) I ordered the Inferno burger with a turkey patty instead of beef. I also subbed a side salad for $2.50 for the fries. Burger was super solid, with the perfect amount of heat and a crispy buttered bun. The side salad was pretty good for a couple of bucks, nothing special, but definitely not bad. Our server was a little slow, but nice. The place was PACKED by noon. They have some kind of BINGO game going on, but we were ready to leave. A fun sports bar, a bowl of popcorn when you walk in, and good bar food. 4 stars for sure. read more

I came here to eat on the outdoor patio. I had to try the famous tater tots. They were good but not as amazing as they're hyped up to be. They're huge! Not your average tater tot. They have cheese inside and comes with a sauce to dip in. Would I order it again? Probably not but I'm glad I tried them. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger which was okay. It had no sauce..no ketchup or anything, so it lacked flavor. The nice thing was that when I asked to share the burger with my mom, they cut the meal in half. We also ordered the Jalapeño margarita...spicy! Just one sip and you get a kick in your throat. Something strange was that our server didn't bring me the check. Instead she grabbed my card and brought back the final receipt for me to sign and tip. I wish I could have looked over the check before giving my card.. They don't have amber beers and their Old Fashions are awful. Their service was decent I guess. They told us which foods they wouldn't recommend, it was a contextually long list. If I could I would give the employees from the time I walked in to the waitress we had 5 stars. My husband and I split a brisket sandwich. It was the worst sandwich we've had in a long time. The meat was tough and full of fat and gristle. I would suggest if you are not going to cook brisket the right way so the fat burns down and the meat is tender. Don't offer it to the public. Ended up here last Friday night after playing darts AMF Southtown Lanes. Side note: please read my review for that. Ample parking. Walked in at 9PM to no waiting and a live band playing Weezer, Prince and more of the classics. I did not catch the name of the band but I heard that they have live music every Friday night. Awesome! We were seated and served promptly. Our waitress (I failed to catch her name) was quick with delivering the drinks and even gave us a free bowl of popcorn and welcomed us to grab as many refills as we liked. Score! If you have ever read any of my other reviews (if not, people recommend that you do) I judge an establishment on their Long Islands and their Rachels (turkey reubens for the common folk). This place passes the test on both. If you like Rachels and Long Islands you will be pleased with your order. Enough said. If you pay an additional $1.50 for their tots, however, you will NOT be pleased. While the tots are a bit larger and certainly tasty, getting only THREE for an additional buck and a half seems a tad ridiculous to me. Come on, Lucky's 13. Throw me at least a few more. Geez. I met friends here for dinner and we sat outside. It was super nice out and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the boneless wings with the hot honey sauce that the waitress promised I would love. I do not like spicy at all so I was not entirely sure if I would like it- LOVED them! They are the kind of boneless wings that is actually chunked breast meat, breaded and fried and to die for. I also ordered a side garden salad and it was huge. The menu is expansive, we all ordered different things and had no complaints food-wise. My friend who didn't eat was not a fan of the small glasses that her drinks were served in, and said they were weak... can't win them all! read more

Stopped in for happy hour and the place was packed. We got lucky and table opened as we got there, zero chance of sitting at the bar. This was on a Thursday night so I figured this would be the case. When you sit down at the table they bring popcorn! Not your usual chips but popcorn and it is addicting. Bowl after bowl after bowl. All of us just ordered a couple beers and service was quick. We decided to order nachos and they were alright. Tons of toppings but surprisingly not enough chips! Usually it's the other way around. I still enjoyed them. I am thrilled to say that it has only gotten better over the last two years and it's clearly from great management and staff like Ben who does an amazing job of expediting great food while making the customer feel appreciated. Went there when it was very hot out, and it was almost as hot inside. Apparently their air conditioning needs adjustment or they need to turn it up to allow for being crowded. This place is just alright. I am content when I do eat here but not thrilled or overjoyed by any aspects. Being in the suburbs has a weird influence on restaurants a lot of the time due to the crowds that frequent them. I've had some bad experiences with service and some decent ones. If you go in with moderate expectations, then you'll be fine. It's typical American bar food for the most part with a large selection of burgers and sandwiches. I find the list to be a bit overwhelming but like having many options to choose from. I got the cajun chicken sandwich with fries. If you add sriracha to the sandwich, it improves the experience a little. Without it, there is barely any spiciness. Although "spicy" is never that spicy in Minnesota. The fries were a bit thicker than other restaurant fries but I enjoyed the cut. They had a lot of potato guts which was a plus. Although they were a bit bland and could have used some pepper or something to give them more oomph. If you're curious as to what it's like here, take a moment to picture "suburban bar restaurant" in your head...and now you know exactly what you're in for! read more

The cucumber basil cocktail is refreshing and delicious, however the food isn't worth it. Their crafted cocktails are usually pretty good, and have good specials on weekends. Be sure to know that the bar closes at 1AM so plan accordingly. They give you complimentary popcorn, nibble on that and save your money on the appetizers. I got the lunch combo and combined the reuben with the french onion soup. The soup tasted and looked like the 'crouton' had been sitting in their forever, and was separated and disintegrating in the soup. I am a girl who loves cheese, but I was gagging. The reuben was ALL meat, which would have been good if it was lean, but it was fatty. They also used cheddar cheese which I thought was weird. The sauerkraut just tasted like cold cabbage...weird. It seems as though Yelp has not updated or the restaurant hasnt updated their page on here that Burnsville Mall now has a Lucky 13 location. I took hubby and our girls out for lunch on Sunday for Father's Day. They were already hopping at 11:50am. I kind of assumed that would be the case. Two of our kids ordered a burger and loved them. One daughter ordered the turkey burger said it was yummy - hubby had the cuban but said that the bread was hard and the meat was dry. I had the Veggie Burger and added guac - it was delicious. I ordered the sweet potato fries, I do not ever use salt and they needed salt ALOT of salt and they were kind of hard - seems like they came out too early - not cold but too hard - does that make sense? All in all, service was good. Lots of staff moving around very fast and with it being so loud in there, it was not a place to have a relaxling Sunday lunch. Its also hard to tell who is staff and who is a customer. The place is just so busy and with no uniforms or T-shirts - random people come to clear your table and you dont know if its the guy at the next table grabbing for left overs or the manager. The staff made it seem more hectic than it was. With that, I would go back. Even though lunch with 3 kids and my husband with no alcohol was about $100.00 Seems like a spendy lunch at the mall. read more

Nice place to catch a meal. Do a happy hour and catch some nice music on the piped in music. If you get a chance order the tater tots. They are well seasoned with infused cheese of some sort. They serve the torta with a hollandaise sauce that is great. I ordered the szechuan shrimp stir fry. Nice portions and large delicious shrimp. It surprised a swamp rat like me from New Orleans. Lucky's is like a box of chocolates: You never know what you're going to get. These days I mostly go to Lucky's for happy hour drinks only because the food is really hit-or-miss. A lot of their appetizers and some of their main dishes come out dripping in grease and kind of soggy. It's not a great combination. The service is also hit-or-miss - sometimes you get a rockstar server who loves the lunch or after-work rush and other times you get a server that could not be more annoyed that you ended up in their section. The atmosphere of Lucky's is nice and I love this location for a big group of people because they can pretty easily accommodate that here. read more

This was our first visit to Lucky's. I would have given them at least 4 stars if we had had decent service. We sat at our table for over 15 minutes before our server showed up. The steak sandwiches we ordered were quite good, and we were going to order a dessert, but after waiting 30 minutes for our server to check on us, we decided not to get stuck there for another hour! I'd like to go back and try some of the other items on the menu; I would hope our bad service was an oddity, and not a regular occurrence. You probably wouldn't know it from my reviews here on Yelp, but I generally attempt to live a low-carb lifestyle. There are many restaurants where I do not even attempt to eat remotely healthy (think: dedicated burger joints, BBQ, pizza, etc.). But for a mid-week lunch at a spot like Luckys 13, I'm usually looking to dial it in with a salad. Because hey, The Wolfpack doesn't think me any less a man for ordering up a protein-packed salad. Heck, you think Gerard Butler became King Leonidas in 300 by housing burgers and pizza all week? No, he was eating protein and veggies like a freaking caveman. That rant was my way of arriving at a rating for the cobb salad I ate today at Luckys. Did it get the job done? Sure did. It was filling, yet light, and probably offered about 20-30 grams of protein. But...my homeboy got the fish tacos, and those looked A LOT more appetizing than my cob salad. All that to say, if you're hitting up Luckys 13, just breakdown and carb up.
