We drove from Rhome, Texas today to have a late lunch. It was packed and people practically were lined out the door. The food looked delicious and had a HUGE Selection. We opted for the fried fish. I got the SWAI, a type of white fish and my sister ordered the Cod. She absolutely loved it and that's saying a lot since she isn't a huge Seafood/fish lover. Mine was good. Loved the light batter. I also got the pea salad, beets, cabbage, Fried tatters, and a side of the chicken spaghetti to go. Pea salad was delicious as usual and of course I just loved the beets. The cabbage was seasoned with the right amount of bacon. The taters were ok, but of course I tried some of the chicken spaghetti and it was to die for...one of my favorites. My sis had mashed potatoes and white cream gravy and lived it. She also had their corn and was very happy. We both had dessert, cheese cake and Coconut cream. Both were delicious. We had plenty of left overs. Service is great and everyone there is super friendly. read more

I'm so glad there are a few of these cafeterias left. This one is outside of Fort Worth and we stopped by today for lunch. What was once in many local towns is now only found in a few Texas cities. We enjoyed the senior platter today (no one asked if we were seniors - wonder how they knew?!?!?) are we seniors? In an oddity I knew would come at some point - it seems we are eligible for senior discounts and kids discounts at the same time! Wild ! lol Delicious food and comfortable environment with fast and friendly service. They carried the kids trays for us which was quite nice! read more

My Dad passed away. His favorite place to eat was Luby's. So, after his Funeral a close friend of mine and I came her to celebrate my Dad. My friend has been wanting to come here too. This location is the only one open my friend said, it was a real treat to come here and ordered a Key Lime Pie that was picture perfect! I ordered a Texas Size Chicken Fried Steak and a DP. The Steak was so big, I couldn't finish it! There was hardly any people in line but, a lot of people we're already sitting down eating. I was also able to find a parking spot quick. I'll never forget the times I ate here with my Dad. Luby's hardly ever disappointed him. I can see why. The tasty food and Desserts are bomb! Service is quick and parking is always available. Great experience and delicious food!!! There should be more cafeterias in Fort Worth!

It has been many years since I have eaten at a Lubys. Sorry that the Plano location closed. The Midway cafeteria is a bit of a drive from my home. Had the rectangular fried fish which tasted just as I remembered. Vegetable soup was too salty, carrot and raisin salad was good as was the jalapeno cornbread. Service from the dining room attendant was pleasant I left her a reasonable tip. I would however question why the cashier apparently expected a gratuity. That was offensive. Times change I suppose. Sadly Lubys standards seem to have declined a bit. Where else can I find carrot and raisin salad these days? That one item will probably get me to return next time I am in the area. Went with the family today for dinner. We had attitude from the first person serving food to the last person checking us out. We felt unwelcome at this place. After we sat down to eat our food, it was cold. First and last time going to this place. If you want to avoid an unpleasant experience stay far away from this place. Been going to Luby's for years. Sadly, many locations have closed. Service is always good, and the establishment is kept clean. They have the best liver and onions and fresh food items. Everything including the cake was well prepared. Hope this is one location that stays open. read more

Yesterday 7/27/2025 was awful..the lemon ice box pie had an extra layer of sugar under the gram cracker crust, which made it way too sweet and the strawberry shortcake was very stale, the strawberries were bitter and the filling tasted like it had sweet n low in it. I had not been to Luby's in years. It was much better than I remembered. They had a very large selection! I had the chicken fried steak that was larger than the plate. It was fork tender and the cream gravy was great. I ate every bite. The mashed potato, red beans and roll was excellent. Had coconut pie for desert that was made from scratch. Only negative is the line was long being it was Sunday but it was worth the wait. The service was top notch as well. The waitress checked on us several times. ALWAYS go inside to get your food.. The drive thru is horrible.. they are intentionally rude and if the order is wrong they give you bad food intentionally... Inside I have never had bad customer service or food. But that drive you get bad customer service and food. read more

Stopped to have dinner on my way home from Arlington. Had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, black eyed peas, extra gravy, salad and pecan pie. Everything was very good except the steak, which was overcooked and had too much breading. Returned the steak and mashed potatoes and got turkey and dressing. I'll keep being a regular diner at Luby's but no more chicken fried steak for me. read more

Worse meal ever .. got a Salmon that was raw and the manager had the audacity to tell me that it was cooked. His name is Mr Hallaway or Holloway.. This manager has no customer service skills whatsoever. He needs to learn that the customer is always right.. Be more pleasant and more approachable to hearing legitimate complaints. ... he did not handle our complaint properly like a manager should. At first when we asked the employees in the food line for a manager they came back and passed a message to our table about how the salmon was cooked properly instead of getting us a manager.. Then we had to ask them again to pls send the manager to our table. I have never heard of a manager unwilling to come out and speak to a customer who has a legit complaint! The manager did not claim any responsibility for poor product or food delivered and this is unacceptable. I used to be a manager and if that was me I would immediately apologize for what happened and then ask if I can comp their meal. We almost had to beg for a refund which is not right. There are no excuses for selling raw food. Bottom line is I have pictures to show you how raw this fish was .. so pls you be the judge. Upper management or corporate you may want to look into the cooking of your meals because someone can get food poisoning from eating raw food. I came to your establishment for cooked food. I had a very unpleasant visit and this being my first time here I will never return and I advice anyone who wants to come here to be aware of raw food. If you are looking for sushi then you in the right place.. But for those of you who want cooked fish and good customer service please go somewhere else. They are thieves! They took our order, $45 in food. Then when we showed up to pick up, they did not have an item, but advised that they can not refund because they don't know how to do a credit. They forced me to choose another item which I did not want! So they did not credit my card for the charge of the item they did not have. I intend to contact my bank about this. I will also forward a formal complaint with the Texas Attorney General's Office! They are thieves! Stay away! read more

Every time I visit this location it's always hot, fresh and ready! Even the drive thru. The cucumber salad always on point. Fried fish excellent, Mac & cheese great, the cabbage is excellent as well. Luby's never fails me, glad they are still around. The employees at this location are always so helpful and nice always smiling, which makes for a better dining experience. read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had at Luby's. I have always loved lubys as a kid. I convinced my boyfriend to try it today and it was horrible. The portions were ridiculous, I got okra and literally get 8 okras. My boyfriend got a steak and it was so small. We ended up going elsewhere for more cause we were still very hungry. I understand they were busy but we felt robbed. Waste of money!!!! read more

I went to this location yesterday and I got take out. I orders a 4 veggie plate with cabbage, 2x macaroni, and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. When I got home they did not give me my roll nor plastic ware which was annoying. Also the macaroni was extremely salty and so was the gravy! I was unable to eat it and the mashed potatoes were THICK! I ended up just eating the cabbage from my 4 veggie plate. I MISS LUBY'S FROM HULEN!!!
