I don't like going to buffets anymore since I had bariatric surgery. I can only eat 4 ounces at a time. I don't mind paying $8 for child's meal because they need to charge something. They can't do that anymore? But hey, got the senior discount.

Exactly how I remembered as a kid. The atmosphere and buffet is what makes this place a goodie!

    Old and dirty flags

I can't believe this place is still open. I remember going to a different location in Dallas growing up. It was decent back then. The food at the FTW location was bad.... Bland, poor quality, and some items that should have been hot were cold. The enchiladas feel apart as if they had been sitting all day, but they had just opened as we were there for lunch. There are two good items that I actually liked... the zucchini with tomatoes and the sopapillas of course. The food trays and the table flags look like the ones that were there when this establishment first opened. Filthy and old. I would never recommend anyone to eat here.

Horrible service, the food has no taste whatsoever, tastes like frozen food. Not much food options either, not even worth going.

We decided on a couple of flights to try a bit of everything. We ordered the bao bun flight and we loved it. Surprisingly the tofu one was good. I'm not vegetarian and honestly avoid tofu. The gentleman said try it. I was so happy I did. It was one of my favorites. We got the dumpling flight and we lovedd it as well. Only downside is there were so many of them I couldn't tell one for another. We also had their burger bao and my husband loved it as well. It definately is a huge twist on traditional food. We finished off with the cinnamon roll. Which we liked a lot We stepped over to grandmas bar and they delivered the food to us. The customer service and food is just what you want for a nice date

The elotes dumpling was good too, though I'm not convinced on the price ($3 for a single dumpling). Service was okay. I visited around 1:30pm on a weekday, so it was empty and I got my food relatively quick. There is indoor and outdoor seating available.

Visiting Texas for the first time and the amount of people walking around with brown paper bags…read morewith "potbelly" on them was a dead giveaway that I needed to check this place out. Like any typical counter service sub place, you tell the first person your order and style of bread, then move down the line to go over any toppings or modifications, and then by the time you hit the cashier, your food is pretty much done - talk about speedy service! They have a variety of designed options in hot and cold versions and then they have a list of basics for you to build your own. I chose the hot Mediterranean which was chicken, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, feta cheese, and spicy hummus. I love all of those ingredients so it was a no brainer that I needed to pick that option. The sub was a little soggy/sloppy towards the end since the peppers and artichoke hearts typically carry a lot of liquid, so this wouldn't be a sub I'd recommend to hold onto or save as leftovers. The mess on my hands and face was totally worth it - it was a delicious sandwich and so filling I didn't get hungry for many hours afterwards! Bummed they don't have a Potbelly in my hometown!

I thought it would only be the PBJ with a little fruit but it had the dipping sauce, pickles and the strawberry muffin. My plate (Garden sampler) was so filling I couldn't finish it all. I went with the cream of broccoli soup, he went with the vegetable beef soup and was raving about how hearty and flavorful the soup was. One of our daughters had the castle salad trio and loved everything and our other daughter had the Saint Matthews lasagna and was extremely pleased with it. We were so impressed with our orders, that we ended up trying each other's food and agreed that everything we ordered was fantastic. Everything was fresh, tasty, the right temperature, appealing to the eyes, etc. So glad we had lunch here. It made for a memorable day with our daughters.
