Now I need to set expectations this place is colorful and the service may come with a little attitude But.... The food is good and affordable! My husband enjoyed everything, the fries to the burger. I have always loved this place. The burgers are affordable and taste delicious. But, lately they have not been as accurate as they once were. Had issues the last 2 out of 2 trips. I went yesterday around lunch time and grabbed our usual a little over 35. bucks worth of food and didn't even get a thank you. Really, in this economy for a 1 income family 35. bucks is a lot of money. I feel like we should have gotten a simple thank you and some flippin' drinking straws. Instead of the drive thru window slammed in our faces. New people, not the usual kind people that used to work there or i have been missing them, idk. But, at this point I feel like some customer service training would be warranted. read more

This place is always CLEAN. The bathroom is CLEAN. Now on to the food. Ask for a grilled bun when you order burger. If your fries aren't hot, they will replace them. Love this Griff's read more

This is truly a burger heaven joint! It's not the nicest place but it's so delicious. The burgers are so flavorful and amazing, one bite is seriously not enough. They get a nice sear on them! I thought I could share my burger but no, I couldn't , it was that good! The fries are also delicious! And they give you plenty. Also tried the fried steak fingers and they are also delicious , they come with fries and toast for $6 The staff is friendly, we always use the drive thru , it's not the nicest place to eat in, but it's seriously delicious! There's some parking also there's a lot of food options to order from. But order a burger, you'll be glad you did. I always make it a point to come and treat myself to this burger when I visit. I just wished they had yellow peppers . They don't have them and I love peppers with my burgers. read more

People love to hype up places that have been around for yrs, but that doesn't mean the food & service is the same. The meals at Griffs where prepared 100% times better back in the day. The manager and the employees were very nice but my overall meal was disappointing. I ordered the combo #5, asked for mayo, mustard, and extra onions. I saw no sign of extra onions or mayo. The combo #5 comes with a hamburger with 2 meat patties, lg fries & drink. The meat patties were thinner than I remember. I haven't been to Whataburger in yrs but I felt like the meat was similar. The onion rings were good and came out hot. I asked for no ice with my soda and guess what they gave me ICE. The strawberry shake and fries were decent. I wouldn't order the apple pie, it wasn't good. I heard 2 people complain to the manager that their fries were cold. My fries were a little warm but not hot like other fast-food burger joints. I overheard people mention that their orders were wrong, but I didn't say anything. However, I still can't believe they got my order wrong the cashier repeated my order back to me several times smh. So would I go here again? No, there are too many burger places that are better. The establishment looks really nice after the remodel. But, I really can't deal with the thin meat patties and employees not getting orders correct. Hopefully they make changes after my review, but I doubt it because people continue to hype the place up regardless of many mistakes being made. read more

Griff's is the stuff of legends. My mom's softball team was sponsored by Griff's in the 70s (true story). My dad's school used to have hamburger day and they ordered from Griff's - also in the 70s. Students and teachers at my school both come back late from lunch quite frequently because they just had to get some Griff's. So now that I work in the neighborhood, I knew that I HAD to try Griff's out to see what all the hype was about. Just know that if you are going to Griff's you need to clear your calendar for the next 45 minutes to an hour. That drive-thru line is long and the inside is packed with folks. Come hungry but not ravenous. If you wait until your stomach is growling, you're in trouble. Luckily for me when I visited, my calendar was clear for the remainder of the day so I had time to sit and wait in line (about 20 minutes) and get my food. But boy was Griff's worth the wait. My burger was so juicy, flavorful, and fresh. The fries were deliciously salty and they're crinkle fries to boot. I will definitely be back to get a nice burger meal when I need a long lunch that I am perfectly content spending in my car. read more

Gosh, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. Right?* I remember the first time I took my family here. It was the early 2000's and my second son, Edgarfunkel, was born. I drove by this place in my old jeep and told my wife, hey let's go over there. We ate there, and we liked it, and Edgar also had a good time there. Now it has been 20 years later, and he still likes it. I got my usual, a double cheeseburger with onion rings. Edgarfunkel got a single meat with cheese since he is on a diet. The burgers were just as good as they used to be. The meat was seared good and tasted good. The fries are not too salty and were hot. I really liked the onion rings too, they were munchy and tasted delicious. Edgarfunkel really liked his food, and still dips his burger in ketchup liked when he was little. They remodeled the building so it looks a bit newer. The place was clean and there was plenty of helpful staff around. We definitely recommend this place and the other Griffs to everybody. This happened on yesterday 6/20/22. I hate to post a negative review but i care enough about others to inform especially with a franchise that I love. However this location was the worst I've experienced with Griffs. With a reputation as great in the past growing up, they should look into better management. My family arrived at 9:08pm and tried dining in but was closed so we got into the drive-thru. We waited and got to 2nd speaker but no one said anything for 4 minutes or so. We decided to drive forward and arrived to the 2nd window at 10:02pm ish. We waited at the window for about 4 minutes and the key opened the window to ask if we placed an order and we said "no one said anything". She responded " that's because we're closed". I looked at her with my mouth open in shock and asked "why didn't someone tell us since the line is wrapped around the building?". She said "someone is going around now"...I just said ok since there was nothing I could do about it. I've never been to this location and wanted to show my family what type of burger I was raised on. To my disappointment my family was pretty surprised and saddened by how this all went down. Please believe the reviews that mentions how bad this location is. I just went through the drive-thru & ordered a giant 2 patty hamburger, no cheese, pickles or onions. Got home only had 1 meat (not 2) 1 small tomato slice, & I couldn't even find the onion. What happened? This was my favorite place. Very disappointed. read more

It's a FW institution! Love the burgers, small eating space there but we normally take ours to go. Drive through is VERY slow. I think they make them when you order so we try not to go at peak times. It's very close to us and convenient so none of the negatives put us off when we want a real burger (not fast food). read more

Sometimes you just want a greasy burger. And when you do, this is the place to be. This isn't like the upscale fast-casual burger shops popping up across the country. This is a small chain from up north that has been around for decades. Of course the decor and outside signage appear to be decades old as well.... Simple burgers, simple cheeseburgers and a few other items that you'd expect at a fast food place. For me, when I really want a greasy burger, and I'm in the Fort Worth area, this is as good a place to go. Which for me, that hunkering only comes once a year....but do go. After I got off work, I arrived at the drive thru around 10:30 (they close at 11). They told me "our system is down. We can't open the drawer." I said I was paying with a card, but they made a weird comment like "I have to get paid too." So I left and waited too long @ Whataburger's drive thru down the street. I grew up on Griff's. So when driving through Fort Worth, we had to stop. Griff's burgers are very similar to Whataburger. Thin patty, mustard, lettuce, onion, tomato. It's a Texas burger. Fries are good, prices are right, and my taste for nostalgia was satisfied. I remember my father bringing home bags of burgers. I'm not sure if they sell them by the bag still, but I can say that they haven't lost their charm. I don't know when I'll be in the area again, but if I am, you can find me at Griff's! read more

Great burgers at a decent price. The onion rings are also quite good. The fries are hit or miss (sometimes too greasy-soggy for my taste). The chicken on a stick (.99) is excellent and kids like the corn dogs (1.19) and these items are more affordable than the kids meals. Most of the other items are quite good as well. I am a native of Los Angeles so I know a good burger when ive had one, that being said, since moving to Texas in 2013, i have come to really enjoy the burgers here, Up until a few weeks ago when my Husband and I went in to get some food. i noticed then that the burgers did not taste like they use to,the meat had an old taste. Not many recent posts, so I thought I would give you a recent update. Went in Sunday 7/30; was craving a good burger & onion rings. The young man at the register seemed new & someone had to keep helping him. First, asked for no mustard on the burger, that I wanted only ketchup as the dressing. My burger had mustard on it & 4 packs of ketchup were on my tray. My onion rings were pretty good, just slightly overcooked; however for what I paid; I felt they could have fit a few more rings in the container. Chocolate shake was good. Now for the kicker, my son never got his order & had to wait by the counter to make sure they prepared it. It took 25 minutes & there was only 1 person in line when we got there; then it got busy. My son clearly had his receipt in his hand, but it was like it never made it from the register to the cook. They didn't seem to have any sense of urgency or care at all for providing a good experience. All they added to his order was a pie. Additionally, it was quite obvious that the drive thru customers were given priority; however, I could see out the window & the line moved like a snail. I was thinking that I would have gone to McDonald's instead because I wouldn't have wanted to wait so long in a drive-thru. I will NEVER go back to this location. read more

I got the chicken sandwich for lunch in the drive-thru to take home and eat it on my lunch break. It looked great on the outside. It was breaded and browned nicely. I took one bite and looked at the sandwich and the chicken was raw. I quickly spit it out and grabbed a knife, hoping it was just one bad spot on the chicken patty. Cut it in half and in several pieces and the entire chicken patty throughout was as raw as raw could be. Looked like they took a raw chicken breast and put cooked breading over it. There is no way this chicken was even cooked at all. I just tossed it in the trash. I didn't have time to take it back on my lunch break, but just beware if you order the chicken. Stick to the burgers. Could have been a fluke, but I won't be trying it again! Yuck! read more

You wouldn't think you'd find a burger this good on the East side, but you will at Griff's! It's a bonafide "Mama's Burger," but only if your Mama knows how to seriously cook a dang burger. The fries are legit, too. Everything tastes perfectly homemade. They don't use frozen crap or reheat stuff, either. So sometimes you'll wait a minute or so for your meal, but it's always worth it. Some days I want Ruth's Chris, and some days, I just want a quick, solid burger. When I crave the latter, Griff's is where I go! A fantastic, no frills, fresh-cooked burger! You can't go wrong, here. I always order a #1 with mayo, no onions, with a Dr. Pepper! (Side note: The ice here is GREAT! Only crushed ice enthusiast will appreciate this detail!).
