Our experience at this Luby's was the most pleasant after a long day at the Dr's office! The employees in the dining area, especially Essence, had the most friendly and charming personality! Was about to order and saw a Mexican lady in the kitchen digging big ol wet buggers out her nose, in the back. And to make it worse, she still had her food prep gloves on. I lost my appetite, told the manager, and left. You supposed to do that in the bathroom then wash your hands with hot water and soap. Not on the kitchen floor and keep working and or serving people. Eric has been there for what feels like the entire 20+ years I've been coming, and he's consistently friendly, helpful, and genuinely seems to enjoy taking care of customers. I decided to drive after church service to pick up two meals . One was for Thanksgiving. Upon my arrival the line was out the door for the to go meals. I quickly left the line and went inside . This is my first visit . The line was long also for those planning to eat inside but they also allowed to go orders . The line steadily moved but took over 20 minutes before I reached the counter to make my request for my to go meals . First plate order was roast chicken leg and thigh with mashed potatoes and broccoli rice casserole. I forgot to ask for gravy on the side . My Thanksgiving meal was a few thick slices of turkey that were moist thankfully since I totally forgot about gravy mashed potatoes, black eye peas and cornbread dressing. The food was decent and lasted for about two meals each. I also picked sweet tea for my beverage . It was too sweet which I didn't enjoy had to toss it down the disposal when I returned home safely. Used to come to this location as a kid. I was expecting good food but was extremely disappointed. Ordered liver and they were out, then got told there was no more fish. The employees behind the counter were being loud, they were on their phones and not paying attention when my family and I were ordering. My son had to say what he wanted three times before the young lady even looked up at him. I got macaroni and that wasn't even warm, it was cold... the one good thing was the lady behind the counter was nice. Seems like this location has gone downhill. read more

I stopped at this location on my way home, and I have to say that the food was not only fresh and delicious, but the customer service from one particular employee, Roselle, was outstanding. She was warm and inviting, making me feel like part of the family. Roselle was extremely helpful, and I noticed how well she interacted with other customers; you could tell they were regulars who loved her. This location is getting worse, I decided to go in and grab some sides to go and was charged $54.00 for (2) of the large white containers. (1) with cabbage and (1) with red potatoes. Noticing now that I should have just went with the court containers and left with half of the disbelief. I should have known when the customer in front of me was charged $13-15 for a quart of soup. But being a customer I paid for it, definitely not valued. So I spoke to the individual that was told by another individual the pricing for what I ordered Also noticing that the receipt was very light on the top where the pricing was but clear near the bottom where I had to pay. I didn't have high expectations for this place because the yelp reviews are mediocre at best, but I was highly pleased with my experience at this location. We got very large portions of food for a very reasonable price. We dined in and the waitress was very attentive and kind. (I didn't even know they had waitresses at Luby's...) She packed us large to-go drinks without us even having to ask. The only reason for taking off a star is because they're didn't have and cornbread dressing prepared to go with my turkey and they didn't have any dark meat for my mom when she ordered the baked chicken dinner. I don't think I'd been to Lubys in like 13 years but my friend wanted it. We go early on a Tuesday, like 10:30. This location opens early. I get 2 pieces of fish, a sausage, roll, corn and rice with white gravy. The fish tasted good, I'd get it again, I really liked the pork sausage, the corn was okay, really liked the roll and the rice and gravy was good. I tried some Mac and cheese and liked it. The service was good and they were all nice. It's different then what I'm used to and I'd definitely go back. Was clean inside and food was good. read more

I oddly like Luby's. This locations food quality is no different from any other... bland, cafeteria/nursing home food. As long as you add a little salt, pepper and hot sauce, it'll definitely get you through an evening when you really don't want to cook but you want a 'real meal'. Their meats are usually seasoned fairly. Cornbread and dinner rolls are always a hit too! It's only their side dishes and desserts that are tasteless. Service here is usually a miss. The to-go section is always closed and most of the staff seem as though they absolutely dread their jobs. My last visit I had to continuously ask what things were because labels were missing. I was obviously annoying a particular employee because she stated, at a comfortably audible level, that I was asking too many questions. All I could do was laugh out loud and bite my tongue. She was also old and bitter.. that's really why I gave her a pass. Lol I rarely dine-in, unless I'm starving. But the times that I have, the waiters were actually decent and kind. My advice, if you've never had Luby's try them at least once. But you've been warned... their food is nothing to write home about!!! read more

The grilled pork steak was absolutely disgusting And very tough. It was so tough I could not eat it. The dressing had no flavor whatsoever and the cornbread was as dry as the Sahara desert. Normally the food is good, however the last three time I was there problems. I always like to the Fan Favorite, with Kale greens. Man, the last three times the greens were very, very salty. The help seems not to care, just throw the food on the plate/ to go box and push you down the line.
