The Hubs and I traveled from Pearland to the Northside and it was indeed a great drive! The smell from the outside made you overlook the many people standing around and the long line to order. The line went fast with 2 cashiers. The smell in this restaurant was Amazing. We ordered 5 pounds of crawfish, 1 pound of shrimp, and the fried catfish with 4 shrimp basket with fries. OMGOODNESS the smell of this place. We decided to sit outside and eat. The crawfish was flavorful and seasoned oh so right. The shrimp was good too but the crawfish was waaaay better in my opinion. Food: 9/10 the regular spice is perfect because it's still spicy but if you're not super into spicy foods this is the perfect spice level, corn was super good and sweet especially with the seasoning 8.5/10, sausage was a 9/10, eggs were a 7/10 because of the color of the yolk but they were good. Twenty pounds of their classic spicy Cajun, along with the garlic butter. The family was split between picking their faves - half prefered garlic, the other half preferred classic. But we were all in agreement that the flavors were on point, the sizes were the largest all season (hands def hurt the next day), and the price was the best I've seen anywhere all season. It was less than $5/lb. I live in the city, and most places charge $8+ a pound and don't compare in size or taste. While I was picking up my takeout, I noticed the crab fried rice. But I was told it takes about 20-minutes for them to prep that order. Noted for next time. Bro when I tell you I never had crawfish taste like this. Crawfish was awesome with good size and all firm so no squishy crawfish and they are all fresh. The sauce was very unique and I can tell the crawfish was seasoned very well when you pull the crawfish out by itself you can still taste the seasoning without the sauce. I discovered LTK through a crawfish FB group and put them on my list of spots to try due to the number of people who recommended them. I've tried them twice now and here's what I have to say. From the outside, it really doesn't look like much and the same applies on the inside as well. It's a nicely spaced dining room, but it really doesn't give a super clean vibe for some reason. You order and pay first, then they bring the food to your table based on table number. Live crawfish is around $8.99 lb right now and pretty decent size. I get their Cajun garlic butter spicy and have also had it with a side of corn/sausage. They bag the sides separately but I'm not too picky about that. I think the spice level is just right with plenty of juice and garlic. I also applaud them for having a decent self serve condiment station set up offering ketchup, Mayo, butter, Cajun seasoning, etc. They definitely do sell out on crawfish and on my recent visit, the line was consistently out the door. They are BYOB as well which is always nice. Overall, I would come back and also recommend checking them out. Don't judge a book by its cover, because they actually serve pretty good food here. I've been supporting this place for a long time but today will probably be my last time coming here. The quality has gone down over the years, let's start with the prices, I remembered it being 5.99 a pound around this time & the crawfish was fresh. When the season was over they went down to 3.99-4.99, not anymore. For me I'm not concerned about the prices I just want my crawfish to be fresh & cooked correctly but unfortunately I was disappointed with the batch they gave me. Let me tell you why, the crawfish came out not even a minute later after I ordered which makes me wonder did they just reheated my s***. I got 5 pounds of the Cajun garlic butter, while the seasoning was on point the crawfish was extremely over cooked & had a mushy taste. In my opinion a perfect cooked crawfish has a soft but a good chew to it, this one had none at all & literally broke apart in my mouth without having to chew it. I don't want to make a judgement without seeing it myself but it could be frozen or I could be wrong, who knows. To add on to the disappointment some of the crawfish tasted dead which means they were already dead when they boiled it. My corn & potatoes were good but I ain't come here for corn & potatoes, I came here to enjoy their crawfish and sadly it was so disappointing. I paid 8.69 a pound to eat some over cooked mushed & when I could have just went to Chinatown & paid the same price for some fresh crawfish.
