Jiffy Lube was being non-responsive re refunding my mom's oil change. My mom reported it to her credit card and the credit card asked for a letter from Papi explaining what he found. Papi signed a letter for the credit card company the same day I asked him. Incredible service, incredible work. He's our mechanic for life.

Taking that seriously, I arranged for a rental vehicle for a week while waiting for his next available appointment. The night before the scheduled repair, I messaged David to confirm our appointment. He read the message but never responded. The following day, which was the day he was supposed to show up, came and went, still no word from him. This situation ended up costing me not only the $50 fee, but also over $300 in rental fees, not to mention the inconvenience of rearranging my schedule. Overall, the lack of communication and professionalism was incredibly disappointing. EDITED/UPDATED my review to include proof of payment that he is calming he never got. However, I didn't experience any of that here at a "A lot of cars". First, I never felt hassled. I found the car I liked through my banking app that uses truecar car buying app which automatically sent my contact info to the owner when I clicked to see the exact pricing. The owner called and I told him I'm just browsing. That was not a problem, he was quick to offer a text with the car info and that he would leave me be and to reach out to him if I wanted to look at the car or any others. I really appreciated that, especially after getting harassed by other dealerships that will continue to call and text you. Second, we showed up and were treated like VIPs, we were quickly able to checkout the vehicle we wanted and it was completely detailed and ready to go. We got to test drive it where ever in the area to ensure we got to see the handling of it. Third, the vehicle condition! I was a little concerned with the miles as I usually never purchase a vehicle With over a 100k but you could tell they took the time to ensure the car was looked over, lots of new parts, and it drove and still runs flawlessly. Fourth, the trade in and payment process was so easy and streamlined. Worked with the owner from start to finish and it took us about 45 mins tops! Part of it was my fault with recently getting married and half of my information I had changed my name but the other half didn't. It led to some confusion. Bonus! the website is kept up to date. When I showed up the car I wanted was there and every vehicle online was there. At the end of the day I was happy with the process and have even referred family.

I first met Rob after a failed smog check, I drove from car shop to car shop looking for estimates and i was getting discouraged and frustrated. I know I must have looked pathetic when I walked into his door .. exasperated and desperate. This is perfect opportunity to take advantage of a woman driving a car, but he did not! Rob listened to my problem and asked me to pop the hood. I began to panic about prices because of my last 4 stops before him with upwards near 80-200 to simply look at my car. Rob said just pop the hood. He looked for a moment said wait a minute... left and came back. He wiped his hands off and said you are good to go.. I said.. what do I owe you? He said come back when you need your car repaired. No charge. What other shops were trying to charge me for was a blown fuse that was preventing my car from passing emissions. My next visit to R & L ended after a frantic phone call. I was on my way to pick my daughter up from school, I was in tears. My car stopped over in Scottsdale for no apparent reason, and No, it wasn't out of gas. I struggled with a tow fee to Rob's way on the other side of town or a free tow to somewhere local. I called Rob, I told him I needed my car in the worst way for daily trips to and from school and that I wasn't sure if I should have it towed there or locally... he said send it over, he'd work with me.. He fixed my car. I gave him what I could on the bill and he wished me well. Next visit was about a year later.. I needed to get my brakes and several other things done. I told Rob I had $1000.00 to work with and I know in my heart of hearts it was a whole lot more that was done to my car but my bill was only $990.00 I gave him a 100.00 Tip for not dragging me through the ringer... I saw him knock money off my bill and cut corners where possible. My next trip was after my car's radiator exploded alongside the road. For 2 weeks, my car was overheating. I was not financially able to do much about the situation. I stopped by autozone and bought this copper stuff that expanded and filled holes in the radiator. It didn't work at all my car was still overheating terribly bad and it was to the point where I was driving about 30 seconds, and waiting for 2 hours for my car to cool... this went on the whole day one day... I just watched my car billow smoke and I drove. I called Rob. He said get it towed don't drive it. I had it towed to his place. I had been driving on a cracked radiator for several days possibly those 2 weeks. He also found my radiator cap between my radiator and my fan. Rob replaced my radiator inexpensively and again got me back on the road asking me to call him and not make my own solutions to these problems. **I can be difficult** I recently needed to see Rob again regarding my emissions testing. It was again a quick fix - I'm hard on fuses - I told Rob when I can afford to get my air conditioner fixed I'll be by to see him again. He has my business. I have used this shop exclusively for 20+ years, since the days of ADS owned by Greg LaFontsee…read more Never had a reason not to go back. Now I have good reasons to abandon this loyalty. When Greg retired and sold ADS to TGK, the changes were subtle but not necessarily for the better. Personnel changes, operational changes etc. made me somewhat suspicious. I used to know who was the manager shop, who the service writers were, even the names of the certified techs who did the work. Then TGK, through a series of ownership changes became part of Sun Auto, a huge faceless corporation that emphasizes tire sales as opposed to automotive diagnostics. You can't go online anymore and directly communicate with anyone. All you can do is go through a chatbot, and the website no longer features bios of people that might be involved in maintaining your automobile. On my last visit in September 2025, it was recommended that the engine air filter be changed. I declined this and other recommended services. Recently I encountered a P0101 code indicating that either the MAF sensor needed maintenance or the air filter was dirty. In examining these components, I discovered that the last time the car was serviced, the air filter box was damaged and reinstalled carelessly without any mention of damage on the invoice. Missing screw, parts of air filter housing damaged, loose connections were discovered. I keep meticulous maintenance records, and no one other than TGK has ever done any work related to the air filter since 2016. I think the transformation from a small, performance-centric shop (ADS) to a large corporate tire seller (Sun Auto TGK) that does auto repair on the side is enough to make me start looking elsewhere for a reliable shop to perform diagnostics without harming my vehicles.

Our car was in show like condition when it entered their facility. When we picked up it it was filthy with chipped paint on 2 panels. The white interior on driver and pax side was grey and carpets discolored. Wilhelm's auto wiped out inside for us. We contacted corporate to get our car fixed as neither Wilhelms nor TGK seemed concerned. The car was towed back to TGK in Chandler. Ryan is passing the blame on the person who originally painted the car in Oct '23. He's also saying a rock chipped the paint to metal on hood. That isn't true. We have before and after shots to prove the condition of the car. It's unacceptable that Ryan at TGK will not take responsibility or get the car back to the way it was when received. We're not asking for anything for free. Ryan lacks character to take responsibility for his actions or his workers. The radiator and radio work fantastically. For that we are pleased but the condition of the vehicle after the work is very disappointing. I would never recommend TGK or Wilhelms in Carefree. Corporate does seem to care but we have come to an impasse with this shop.
