We ordered the shrimp and mushrooms, the Carne Asada and the fresh guacamole. This is our second time here and it has been superb every time . Our server was attentive, and give great advice on food . I highly suggest ordering both these items and the flan churros are awesome.. This is a hidden gem , if they can keep up the food, quality and service there will be a line rapped around the block. I have had very few restaurants that I would give an absolute five star, but this was amazing. Was here at lunch today. The best Carne Asada I have ever had. The best description I could get it would be as good or better than a Churrasco steak at the name brand restaurant in Houston for about half the price. I have tried Lozano's twice on a recommendation from a friend. First time we had fajitas for 2 and just last night had the cheese enchiladas. Food is made very fresh and folks here are extra nice. Almost too nice as they really come by your table to many times to ask how you are doing. Queso with meet is very good. Cheese enchiladas to me were good but nothing special. I prefer Ray's fir cheese enchiladas. Fajitas had large flour tortillas that are made fresh. Fajitas meat was good but nothing special. I still prefer Lupe Tortillas for this. I also tried one Chicken Flautas and it was good but small in comparison to other places. Green sauce is good. I prefer Victoria's green sauce. Red sauce I did not like. I really wanted to like this place. The ambience is really nice and they have a huge bar. Prices are a little higher as compared to other Mexican restaurants. Overall I give them 3.5 stars. I like more spice and taste in my food so I don't believe I will be back. read more

Okay. A little late to the party but we did it! We tried Lozano's tonight. Omg. The best margaritas. We tried the top shelf and the house. We both actually preferred the house margarita. And took a gallon to go! Jose Lozano is an impeccable host. We took our food to go. That ceviche is EVERYTHING! And yummy salsa too. Hubby had enchiladas and said they were great. And the best refined beans he's ever had. And he hates beans. We are so proud of Jose for opening. We knew him from Alicias. And Lozano food and service tops every other Mexican place we've been to. Service is horrible, food is horrible, and to top it off expensive!!!! They decide to close early and we got kicked out when we were watching the football game. We called in advance if they where going to have the Super Bowl on and they said yes just to get kicked out on the third quarter because they decide to close early. This was our first visit. We recently moved to Katy. My husband is hispanic, so he is very fussy about Mexican cuisine. Both of us ordered the ground beef enchilada plate with rice and beans. We found the food very tasty. The chili sauce on the enchiladas was somewhat different than what I've had before. However, we loved it. Not as advertised for Latin food. The staff are friendly but since they were all young, they would be on their phones during service which is tacky. Food was delivered quick and overall ambiance was ok. I ordered the chicken kabobs... which I don't think I've ever ordered chicken kabobs at a standard Mexican restaurant till then. The chicken kabobs came out and they were not kabobs. They were not even on a stick. I was super confused. The chicken was a thin slice of chicken and it was lacking in seasoning. The one redemption is the hot sauce. The waiter had given me a "house made" habanero hot sauce and it was good. The restaurant seems to be having an identity crisis. I would recommend going if you're interested in an Americanized "latin" restaurant and do not want your food spicy at all. read more

Get the Beef Fajitas... super tender and flavorful. We also tried guacamole, was freshly prepared. We got the beef and chicken combination, both were good. Tortillas....... the flour tortillas were fresh, homemade, soft and yummy. The refried beans were not my favorite, they were okay. The rice was good. I always order Chiles Toreados which give you that extra kick in the face with each bite... lol Margaritas were strong as they should be. We tried the mango and strawberry, both were good. I am sorry but I do not understand the five star reviews. This is a late review as I visited Lozano's on December 16th but I had to come back and give my honest review. I specifically came to Lozano's because of the amazing reviews on Yelp, Google and Facebook. Our first impression was the over cooked and old tasting queso. It was terrible, tasted super burn like it was sitting over the heat all day. Then the entree... the cheese enchiladas were so SALTY! I had to have my friend try them because i thought something was wrong with my tastebuds. This is how I left my plate for the remainder of our stay and not once did the waitress stop by to ask how our meals tasted or if we needed anything else. The busboy was the only one to stop by and give us TWO refills during this whole time. We only saw the waitress when she came to hand us the bill. It was just a terrible first experience. read more

Started at Los Cucos and as soon as we sat down, we left because it smelled like mildew, it was hot, and nasty. We're in a pinch to find a New Mexican spot and found this one. We're a little skeptical because it was in a shopping center, but holy cow was the food good. Fresh salsa that was amazing, the meat was tender and the beef had some pink in it which I love. Yes, the rice/beans portions were "smaller" but it helps you not to over eat; so take it how you want it. Very clean and the service was amazing. This place is great. Real good quality food. I've been back several times the last month for the ground beef tacos and enchilada combo plate. They are so good. I wish I could have the tacos everyday. We also order the guacamole relish appetizers. It is flavorful and light. We have friends who come every week and have tried everything on the menu and says everything is great. Husband was in rare mood for Mexican food, and another local place that recently opened had an hour wait at 4:30 on a Saturday. Based on other foodies recommendation, we tried Lozano's and I'm so glad we did. We asked to sit at the bar and were immediately offered margaritas. I had been warned it only takes one and man, it only takes one. Guacamole worth the price for the serving size, and the salsa was super fresh. The manager offered us a sample of beef and it was soooooo tasty that we ordered the beef and chicken fajitas (normally order just the chicken). The beef is super tender, great marinade and grilled to just the right amount of medium with some charred bits. Flour tortillas are bigger than my face and remind me of the ones at Lupe Tortillas.
