Most recently, these guys had my car for over 2 weeks for a noise I was hearing. First they misdiagnosed it. Then they told me it was the transmission and had the car torn apart. Then they had no mechanic in the shop at all for a few days. Then they hired someone who said the noise was the rear struts, fixed those, but left the battery dead. During all of this time, they never called me one time with an update. Not once. They didn't tell me the misdiagnosis until way after. They didn't ask me if they could tear the car apart. They didn't tell me they had no mechanic to put it back together. I had to call myself and pester them to find out what was going on. Worse yet, the noise came back less than 2 weeks later. Take your car somewhere else.

The car began to lose power even as the engine revved higher. I just was barely able to limp home at 20 mph . After discovering the leak, and fixing it, I added trans fluid to the fill line and the car seemed to drive normally. However, I couldn't be sure whether damage had occurred to the transmission. I called several transmission repair facilities and picked AC Transmissions on Federal Blvd. I spoke with Chris S., one of the shop owners. He was an excellent source of information and courtesy. The AC shop provided an inspection of the transmission free of charge, then told me that they found no damage and that the car's transmission was fine. There was absolutely no charge. Based on my interaction with AC Transmissions, I believe them to be honest and fair. As I understand it, two of the repair technicians have each at least 35 years of experience repairing transmissions. Thank you, AC Transmissions ! I would recommend these guys any day of the year. Excellent service.

Some bitter woman at the front desk swore she'd email it "immediately." 48 hours later -- still nothing. Called again and got the owner, Tim Tapper. He played stupid for a minute, then muttered, "Well, it takes me a long time to fill those out." You could hear him sounding out words like a slow child while he talked. They never filled the warranty out. Not a single word of it.
