Pretty solid bagel shop offering several lox and other loaded sandwich options. 10+ bagel types available including the standards but also some harder to find flavors like nori-sesame. The bagels were good, chewy and crispy. Priced around $3 per bagel. The sandwich options are numerous with different fish types. I opted for the Brooklyn which was loaded. The Brooklyn comes with an everything bagel as the standard, but next time I'll swap it out for something more neutral. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is bright, with seating available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was ok, ordering happens through a self serve kiosk. Every sandwich order is made fresh, so there may be a wait (unless you get a bagel only). Location is near the Beacon Hill light rail station, but hard to find as it is away from core foot traffic. Street parking in a residential area. Loxsmith bagels is definitely a gem to have in south seattle. I hope they continue to get more customers!

    Yummy 12 bagels

Bagels were fresh and yummy and staff was so kind and talkative!! Definitely will be coming back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The little store has so much life and the tables with little drawings is so adorable[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]! COME GET FOOD HERE ITS FIRE!

Update: the owner called me and we discussed how there are different styles of bagels and bialys, and he was sorry we didn't like his. He also said the link for ordering online through Doordash is new, and they have kinks to workout. He offered to provide a refund. I think he tried to provide good customer service and appreciated that. This place is not going to make it. I heard they have bialys, which are hard to find here. I called and was advised to get a dozen I'd better order online to ensure they have them. I now see why. I went in to pickup my order and they had hardly any available bagels to buy, except a large basket of day old bagels. They didn't even have a plain. So I got an everything bagel and my other tried an egg bagel, and I got my dozen bialy. The bagels had a nice crust, but we're just big heavy rolls. The everything bagel was overloaded with "everything", which is normally a good thing. However, this mix had sooo much burned garlic in the mix it was all I could taste and it was really unpleasant. In the picture you can see it - AFTER I brushed off such as I could. Nothing special about the egg bagel at all. Other than the color. The bialys, the reason we came, were the biggest disappointment. Huge bready rolls. The only way they resembled a bialy was the big wad of onion in the middle. And the kicker? Because I ordered from the link on the website, I was charged $32 for the dozen instead of $28. When I complained I was told "I only work here" and if I wanted to discuss with a manager I could try calling or emailing. I do not recommend this place for bagels, bialys or customer service.

Long-time regular, both Delridge and Beacon Hill. I always get the Loxsmith. Stellar lox, chewy and crisp bagel, perfect schmear. It's a true treat. Seeing some of these other reviews, I'm surprised. Running a business is never easy, and people are only human, but I've never had anything less than a 5-star experience in my mouth. Facts.

The bakery and sales area take uo the entire ground floor of an unassuming house in a residential neighborhood. Clean, light and airy atmosphere with plenty of room to work. The metal shelves were superbly organized and packed full of bagels. Easy to get to by bus from downtown. Charming and cheerful staff. I went on a Saturday morning around 1030 and there was only a small line, which moved very quickly. This is not a cafe - you are here to buy bagels and the fixings. Okay, they also sell coffee and tea, muffins, and a yummy chocolate chip cookie. (Had to try one if I'm coming all the way from downtown!) Bagels were baked perfectly. Each one looks as if it was made individually- the level of detail of the flavors, rhe color, the texture. Nice chewy crust with a light interior. They toast up beautifully (at home - no slicing or roasting at the bakery). This is a bagel that says "hey, have another one" rather than the kind which lay in your stomach. I didn't try the spreads, but have absolute confidence that they would be marvelous. Worth every second of the 30-minute bus ride. Heck. Go out of your way to come here!

I tried the plain, sea salt, sesame, and poppy bagels with scallion cream cheese. The bagels themselves are okay. The plain was my favorite, and the sea salt bagel was too salty for my preference. The chocolate chip cookie was absolutely incredible. It is definitely among the best in Seattle. The cookie had the perfect amount of sweetness, salt, and chocolate. It's definitely worth trying.

Infact their staff also plays tricks, - especially one of their girls. Once I asked her if they are getting more of fresh bagels, she said no and gave me the bagels from the shelf. While giving me a bag, a new batch came out from the back, and so then she changed just 2 of the bagels, not all. Since this was my first time, I didn't really think much about this. For next few weeks I again went couple of times , some other people person were on the counter, who was gracious enough to always tell me that yes a new batch is coming up but I might have to wait for 10-15mins. I waited and every-time got warm bagels. After few weeks I again went, and the same first girl was there and I asked her the same question , she again said no, so I insisted if she can go back and check (it was just 9am only), she said it more firmly to me - "I am telling you there is no more fresh bagels coming in". So I took whatever she gave me from the shelf. While walking out , from the window I saw a big tray of fresh bagels came out. But since the line was long, I didn't want to get into the conversation with that girl, so I ignored it. This happened one more time recently as well. So not sure if that one particular girl didn't want to give me fresh ones or maybe she wants older bagels to sell before giving out fresher one, but since this happened 3 times, I am not impressed. I had also bought their bagels once from their pop-up market and it was also not that fresh. By the way, their small cafe has good ambiance if you want to sit there and enjoy their bagels and coffee right there. Whatever I write above, I will still keep coming back since they are my 2nd fav bagel shop in Seattle area.

On my most recent visit, I also tried the black sesame bagel with butter. They share a great outdoor seating area with Sea Wolf Bakers and also have a small amount of indoor seating. There's usually a line on weekday mornings and a longer one on weekends, but it moves surprisingly quickly, so the wait has never felt unreasonable. A few things to consider: I've never had a bagel on its own here, only a bagel sandwich. So I don't feel as though I can give an expert opinion on the bagels. However, they do work very well for the sandwiches. The everything bagel is absolutely loaded with seasoning, and has an incredible saltiness (I'm a salty man, so this is a good thing). I feel as though this elevates the eggs to a new level. I was immediately drawn to a pastrami breakfast sandwich, because it's a top tier meat. This will feel more like you're eating thin roast beef because of the color, but it's still pretty good. I do think that this sandwich needs some acidity to balance out all of the fat, so grab some hot sauce at the counter. Overall this was a great sandwich, and I would get it again. That being said, I feel like the bagels are lacking due to a fault in a core ingredient. They all come with potatoes, and I think that they're either boiled or not quite roasted enough. Having to deal with undercooked potatoes dispersed throughout a mondo burrito is a battle that I'm unwilling to wage - but people seem to love 'em. The other ingredients and overall flavor is nice, though. Rachel's is a fun place with good coffee, too. And they let me bring my dog in which is dope.
