I ordered a sandwich and the bacon was served raw. When I asked them to remake the sandwich, the bacon was raw again. When I asked for a refund I was directed to the owner who was extremely difficult to deal with, unkind and disrespectful. I've never been treated this way by any restaurant especially the owner of one. I would absolutely never go back here for a multitude of reasons. The poor quality of food and the behavior and response from the owner. THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER IS A LIE. Why would I ask for a refund and then refuse one. I was calm and he attacked me and called me names... as he is doing here. He should be banned from this platform for using it to harass innocent people. Loxsmith has one of the best bagels in Seattle, however, stick to the bagels! I usually just pick up a half dozen of assorted bagels for home, but I decided to try a pork roll, egg and cheese for breakfast on a weekend morning. If you grew up in the NJ/Philly/NYC area, you may have fond memories of this breakfast combo (some folks call it Taylor ham, I am not one of them). It feels like a special treat to see it on a PNW menu, so I ordered it. Beware, this pork roll is NOT correct. I honestly don't know what they did to it. Fried and then microwaved? Not fresh? It smelled weird and tasted worse, which is sad because their portion was generous (trying to get rid of it?). I pulled it off my sandwich immediately due to taste, and frankly, worry. Loxsmith, if you are reading this, consider removing this sandwich if you can't cook it properly. This was not a cheap sandwich at $16. Bagel sando was okay, nothing profound. I would make this a regular stop spot because it's in my neighborhood, however the actual "Lox Smith" dude at the counter gives off the most rude nonchalant energy in the world. I'm talking about the Beacon Hill location by the light rail. Big chested white guy with a hat... mean scowl... you can't miss him Why would I wanna spend $25 here when u can't even greet me when I walk in the door? Or even acknowledge me when I've been standing in your establish for 2 mins and you've walked by me 4 times lol The place isn't that big, it isn't impossible to say "hello" , "good morning" , "I'll be with you in one second", "you can place your order using the screen" ... not to mention it wasn't even busy I was 1/3 people in there, including Mr. Lox mannnn I've been twice, & received the same standoff-ish attitude from the guy both times. The first time I visited, I placed an online order and he "forgot" about it? Or didn't see it?? He had to make the bagel sandwiches after I had already arrived, after the website said they would be ready by then. I didn't pitch a fit, I just patiently waited outside. It was a nice day so I went for a spontaneous walk... but I've never had that happen before when I order food from a spot. Looking back, it didn't seem very professional and he wasn't even apologetic about. Even with his attitude and forgetting my order, it wasn't a dealbreaker for me. I still wanted to give the spot a second try!!! That 2nd try was today, 06.13.2025. I was having a great morning and wanted to get that bagel sando from that one spot again ! I open the door, we make direct eye contact, and without saying anything he looks back down at the screen or whatever he's doing. I immediately feel awkward as hell now! like does he not want me here??? Now I'm standing here overthinking, he walked by me 4 times, I recalled my last experience , and my anxiety won. It's hard to determine what I miss most about living in NYC, but bagels definitely make the top 5. This place is a pop up inside another restaurant, so occasionally the restaurant is closed while this pop up is open. It's a bit confusing but don't be deterred by the "closed" sign outside! If Loxsmith is open, just open the door and walk in. We got the loxsmith bagel for $17. The bagel was a bit small for the price, but I did love that they used the "top" (seed-dense) side for each side of the sandwich (very important!) and slathered the heck out of my bagel with cream cheese. Maybe even too much cream cheese (didn't think that was possible). Anyhow, I'm just looking for things to nitpick because this is the closest-to-NYC lox bagel I've had in Seattle! i've heard a lot of people rave about this place, both in its current location at the commissary kitchen on delridge and the former harried and hungry spot in georgetown so i finally decided to place an order. i don't usually eat meat but every once in a while i have a hankering for bacon. i asked that the bacon be extra crispy and in no one's world would i say that what was on my sandwich was anything close. there were two other things i'm going to be critical of: i chose an onion bagel and it didn't have any onion aroma or standout onion flavor to speak of. if i closed my eyes, i wouldn't have known i was eating an onion bagel at all which to me borders on problematic. i have no idea if this is indicative of all the bagel flavors they offer but onion bagels should clearly smell and taste: ONION-Y! the cheese oozed out of what would essentially have been hot egg and bacon slices placed atop before closing the sandwich and then when i picked it up and went to eat it, easily more than half of it was glued to the paper wrapped around the sandwich so note to self: why bother ordering anything with cheese if you're not going to get the bulk of it on the sandwich you've ordered? all told, it was $19, including a $2 tip for not nearly as much flavor as i would have hoped for. i appreciate all the effort and want to support new, local businesses (i support two others at this same location with great enthusiasm and frequency!) but this was sadly an underwhelming experience which i probably won't give another go. live and learn. read more

The bagels were very tasty, lots of cream cheese, which we love! They weren't toasted so I would ask for them to be toasted next time. It was kind of confusing on where the shop was. On yelp it showed a sit down area inside but we had to order from a window. The only reason I gave three stars was because the customer service was horrible. Which when I was looking at other reviews they all seemed to say the same thing. The man opened the window and said "do you know what you want?", no hello or how's your day? We ordered he handed me the card machine I gave it back and he shut the window. Which I understand it is cold outside but at least say you are gonna shut it instead of doing it so abruptly. I appreciated the chance to the try this bagel popup in Harried & Hungry. Because it was early on a weekend day, there was plenty of parking which is something I value highly. The bagels themselves were very dense and chewy which made the breakfast very filling. The cream cheese spread was also generously applied and the scallion in mine was fresh & green, providing a nice pop of color. One thing I wish there was more of is the lox itself, since it is a bit pricey for what it is. Something odd was that the cashier asked if we wanted hashbrowns in our bagels (it wasn't on the menu), we said yes but our bagels had no hashbrowns so I'm not sure if it was a case of mistaken add on or they just forgot the hashbrown. read more

Definitely agree with one of the previous reviews on here, the vibe is VERY relaxed. As a first timer coming in it was confusing on what they sold or where the menu was. Definitely not the place to go if you're expecting a lot of customer service it's very much what you would expect from a mom and pop shop. Spent 45$ on two bagel sandwiches with tip, pretty steep for the size of the bagels in my opinion. I guess this is what real NY bagels are suppose to taste like? Didn't really impress me that much to be honest. They're a bit dry and tough. Also they forgot a hash brown on one of the sandwiches and the lox bagel was mostly cream cheese and tomato. FOOD: Taking the obscene price aside, I'm offended by their lox-smith bagel. I got the lox bagel and there was 1... ONE slice of lox on the bagel. I feel like I got the LaCroix of lox. Lox essence if you will on a bagel. The fact that it was 17$ just makes it worse. On top of that, they placed a single sprig of dill and Tomato and onion on top of the SINGLE slice of lox so it was just falling off and a complete mess. CUSTOMER SERVICE: we got a "hi" AMBIANCE: In terms of ambiance, this place was kind of hard to find so just look for it on the side of the building they do have a sign. It's within an apartment complex. Also the music was BLASTING and with a TV playing at the same time it created what can only be described as an affront to the auditory senses. Now for the pros... the tomato was good and the cream cheese was fine NOTE: we went to the beacon hill location. Four stars for the food. One star for the experience. Loxsmith is good bagels, especially when grading on a Seattle curve. And I was very excited to see I could now get them in west Seattle. However, this is more of a wholesale spot, not retail. Which is also totally great with me - I came for a dozen bagels. It was unclear how or where to order. The guy who helped me instructed me to go back outside and order at the window (it was 30 degrees outside, so they didn't have the window open when I walked up). He gave me my dozen bagels and when i went to pay, he did the thing that happens everywhere now -- he flipped the device around for me to add a tip -- starting at 18%. Now, there had been maybe 15 seconds of service provided when he put my bagels in a bag. I felt like I was taking him away from his other responsibilities and felt a huge sense of rush. Instead of taking the extra steps to select "custom" and 0-ing out the tip -- or tipping a more reasonable 10% -- I just hit 18% and got it over with. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS LOCATION. Unless Loxsmith responds and lets me know they have fixed the tipping screen. Especially with Seattle minimum wage at nearly $21, which I expect is reflected in the prices, tipping for such an experience is ridiculous. Capitol Hill is lacking in great bagel places. Loxsmith Bagel is a new spot operating near the light rail from Nacho Barracho. Their menu is Korean inspired but also with tons of fish options. They are open Thursday - Friday 9AM - 2PM and Saturday - Sunday 10AM - 3PM. I've been twice this week and ordered veggie. The Pros: --Great bagels and spreads (I've tried the everything and jalapeño cheddar bagels and the plain and kimchi spreads) --Friendly service --Great location The Cons: --The service is slow when they are busy and they are still working out their process so they make errors. They are nice about fixing the errors! --They don't seems to have a way to just toast bagels. Overall, this is a place is definitely checking out just be prepared to be patient if they have a line! Upon entering this fancy looking modern bagel shop I figured it may be expensive but that was an understatement to say the least. I ended up paying over $20 for a bagel with sausage egg and cheese...would've been way more if I had gotten the actual lox sandwich as well. Not sure if they even have a toaster but he made my whole entire sandwich in the microwave start to finish. This made it very soft and not so tasty. :( As for the service there was one guy working who I assumed owned the place because he was on the phone the whole time we were in there trying to setup mobile orders or something. This would have been no issue at all if he had started our bagels right away but instead he was very slow and distracted by the call. Is this place expensive? Yes. Does it have good bagels? Yes. Are the bagel dressing options particularly exciting? No. The lox is salty and bitter (i.e., briny). The menu is difficult to follow and the venue is infested with flies. Other than that, the service is wonderful! The good: As a former New Yorker/born & raised Jersey girl, these bagels are *really good.* Among 3 or so vendors in town that pass muster for me. I love the flavors - sesame nori and zaatar are favorites. Cream cheese is tasty too. The addition of pork roll to the breakfast sammies? Heck yeah! The bad: Pricey - like painfully so. I get it that things everywhere cost more these days and people need to paid a living wage, but sheesh - $14 for BEC? Inconsistency - this is a big one. We've been ordering from the Delridge location from the beginning, and our orders used to always be correct, ready on time, etc. Then they shut down for a bit there to focus on getting the Beacon Hill location off the ground (cool). But sadly things have not been the same at Delridge since they re-opened. Pre-ordering is now totally pointless - what is listed as available on the online ordering portal is rarely accurate. What is the point of letting people pre-order if not being able to guarantee that people will get the things they want? Even if pre-ordering on the same day you want to get your food, the online ordering portal is wildly inaccurate - there are usually more things noted as "in stock" than are actually available. And if you pre-order and what you want isn't available? You just get whatever the person making up your gives you, and rarely receive an acknowledgement of what happened when you pick up your order. The really bad part is that you also don't automatically get a refund if the thing that gets substituted costs less than what you ordered - you have to be paying attention and you have to follow up and ask. That's just unethical, especially given the already high prices. Bagel sandwich quality is also inconsistent. I recently ordered a pork roll, egg and cheese sammy and the pork roll was so overcooked it was hard and crumbly and tasted like cardboard - a waste of $14. Previous times it was fine. I don't mind paying more for things at all, but if I'm spending the money, I expect to get what I paid for and I expect that it will be prepared appropriately (not burned, fresh ingredients, etc). And I expect that there will be a mechanism in place for rectifying any issues that come up - and there is none. It's really sad as I do love these bagels and try to support local businesses (the Delridge location is literally down the street from me). But I hate feeling like every order is going to be a dice roll :( read more

The product quality is always great. Beware the hours posted on Google maps and on the loxsmith website are incorrect! Arrived at delridge location to pick up my order, was told I had to go to beacon hill to get it. Arrived at beacon hill and they didn't have my order ready, had to take what they had on hand. They did refund my order as well as give me what they could, so they did as much as possible to make it right. I recommend caution when ordering ahead from them though. I was met with the rudest customer service whilst trying to find the bagel window. Of course, the canister was completely empty in addition to no cream or milk available either. My husband ordered 2 bagels and it took 40 mins. The Jersey didn't have ham showed on the menu. It was just your basic deli ham. He got the bacon egg cheese and it was fine. But nothing special. Growing up On the east coast, being raised by Jewish Brooklynites, it's odd you don't hear more talk about good/better/best lox as much as you hear about the bagels. Don't get me wrong it's always good. But it's always relatively the same, farmed Atlantic, or wild sockeye. Fast forward a lifetime.
