I typically favor Lowe's over Home Depot but Lowe's is generally much further away from me, less convenient. This Lowe's has always been clean and well stocked and the employees have been helpful. Even though it seems like Lowe's is slimming down their merchandise selection, I can find what I needed. Not as many employees available for questions as before, but they are, at least, nice. I needed a door installed. They waived the $35 consultation fee when I set up the appointment at the store. Appointment time comes, nobody contacts me and nobody shows up. I call the store, what a nightmare that was. On hold forever, transferred to multiple people. I finally speak to my contact and she says it wasn't on her calendar and tells me I need to go back to the store to pay the $35 fee I was told was waived. Truly awful. read more

Absolute worst, my senior citizen parents purchased carpet from this location on September 15th and it has been a nightmare for them. The past 2 months we have went back and forth with Rocco and the sales Manager David with no help and a ton of run around. Let me start by talking about how many times they scheduled a install and not shown up. Holding my parents captive at home not able to complete their everyday routine. This happened about 3 times where they had a date picked and NO CALL NO SHOW. 3 TIMES! Once they finally decided to show up they installed the they left the master bedroom undone. They claimed they ran out of carpet. (The carpet we have paid for in advance). For the last month we have been getting kicked around with excuses and no accountability. I spoke to David myself and he claimed he is taking care of it. (3 weeks ago). Clearly no one is. Still no carpet install. I called store multiple times asking for regional manager only to keep getting transfered to the same guys who can't get me any results. I asked them to keep me in touch and to no longer deal with my parents as they are too old for this. No word was kept.If I can give a negative star review I would. For the price paid here you would expect alot better from a reputable company like lowes. I was made to stand at customer service, ignored, while many other customers were allowed to pass me. Customer service desk made the request for a product I wanted seem like a burden: ditto for the employees when I was standing in a designated location waiting for someone to help me. (No one ever came). Several employees passed with without offering help. When I finally asked for help from an employee, I was likewise made to feel like a burden. Stay away from this store if you don't want to waste your time and get aggravated. I ordered (3) screen doors, the installer came to the house to do the measurements. Once that was done, the next step is to go to the store to pick the doors that fit the measurement and pay. Well, that is where the drama began. I was first met with Rocco Fabrizio who started the process, about 45 minutes into it; he tells me he has an appointment with another customer and for me not to worry because he will call me later on to finish the sale. WHAT!!! Are you kidding me? After my yelling, he decides to continue with my order. About five minutes later he says, I will be right back I want to tell my other customer that I'm going to finish with you before starting with her. OK, sounds good......right? He never comes back. UGH! I start looking for him. I see he is now in the flooring dept. with this customer. I ask another sales person for the manager. He hears my complaint and directs me to Yourie who is also working in the door dept. OK, I sit down with him and tell him Rocco already started the paperwork. He tells me he has to start the whole thing again, because Rocco did not save his work. WHAT!! I get up and start leaving. I run into Craig who is the store manager. I tell him my complaint and he says he will help me. He starts the paperwork again with some smooth talk on how he loves to help his customers. About twenty minutes later he gets stuck and does not know how to finish. He directs me back to Yourie. Well you can see how this is going. Three hours later and three different sales personnel and to this day I still never got the screen doors. They are all incompetent in different ways. Ordered flooring to get installed took two weeks for someone to reach out to install it. Than you have to Pay in full to install it my window for them dropping off the parts was today between 12:30 and 4:30 well guess what wasted my whole day bc they decide to come at 5:30! With no call I had to call them to get the time frame. Absolutely crazy. I had thought Lowe's had a department in which installs but it's three different companies. Order from Lowe's... then xpo delivers product and b and m flooring from New Jersey comes to install it! I live in Yonkers NY. I'm sure they won't be here until 9pm to install it ether. I was buying paint and the person there was friendly and knowledgeable. Purchasing the products was a completely different story. I went to self-checkout line and half of them are broken and the one that I had used tweaked out and needed assistance. I stood there as the machine screeched out HELP NEEDED FOR THIS ITEM as solid 15 minutes went by there were people just standing around looking at everywhere but my register. It wasn't until I started voicing my frustrations did one of the employees sucking her teeth hands waving and head bobbing finally trundled over and corrected it. Yes, the store is cleaner and better in appearance than Home Depot, but as soon as you start interacting with associates, that is where Home Depot becomes the clear winner. The associates at Lowe's are extremely lazy and unhelpful. They are more interested in playing with their phones, taking personal phone calls, and just shooting the breeze with their fellow associates than helping out the customer. If you ordered anything online to have delivered to the store, then you just paid Lowe's to send your goods into some black hole, never to be found again. We've been waiting for a refrigerator for almost a month now every single day the guy in the morning would call say that the delivery is on its way we wouldn't get it, at night we would go back to Lowe's in Yonkers talk to the manager ,he would say I don't know why it's in the truck .we spoke to the store managerWho is also useless. Something is going on in the store that is not right. Definitely do not buy any appliance from This store... I wanted to purchased a storm door and after speaking to" Youly" who is in charge of the clsd dept (which he was very pleasant and helpful with infor needed). However, I told him I will call back after I speak to my husband. Well folks that's when the problem started , I called no one picked up. I did this 5 or 6 times letting it ring and ring and ring hoping beyond hope someone pick up so I can speak to Youly. There were times I notice someone picked up not say anything and hung up or transfer my call to another dept which again it rang no pick up. I gave up and said forget it, the next day after seeing the terrible rating and reading the reviews I was lucky not to do business with this Lowe's in Yonkers. Lord knows why this was happening to me and the reason behind it which I don't need no added "STRESS IN MY LIFE". Awful. Buy from Amazon, Best Buy, Wayfair, or local alternatives instead. This place is like a Bermuda's Triangle of awful -- entering this store will make you into a less sympathetic, more aggressive person. I've spent $3-4k here, but my partner and I have made a pact to not spend a dollar more after our last bad experience. It's a shame because we have a floor to gut renovate and a garage to rebuild and it would be helpful to have a one-stop store available. There are a number of employees that are able and willing to do their jobs (Lowes "corporate" reader: Jessica is helpful, nice, and hard-working. Give her a raise and make her a manager. I'd say the issues with the staff are a mixture of a lack of training, a general apathy, and a lack of motivation. The customers tend to be more well-mannered, upstanding people than at the god-awful local Home Depot, but the staff and experience at this Lowes is just as terrible. Do not buy large items for delivery from Lowe's of Yonkers. It is a false bargain. I have been waiting for this Lowes to process a return for over a month (I was going to exchange two large appliances for others, but decided to just take my business elsewhere after the terrible experience I've had). It has taken over a half dozen calls and multiple store visits to try to sort this out, and each time, I have to start from scratch trying to help the customer service department staff understand the issue as they can't seem to find a record of this ordeal ("Here is my receipt and all documentation. No, I am not trying to return a refrigerator that was delivered. No, not that other item. I am trying to return an item that was never delivered"). Anything other than taking a small item to the self-checkout (when those machines are working) will require multiple Lowes employees and far more time than it should. The delivery company, XPO Logistics, that Lowe's of Yonkers uses is a godawful company that will cancel scheduled deliveries and pickups without warning. I had their staff at my house twice: First time: - The guys were top notch. They showed up on time, prepared, and were careful not to damage my home. Unfortunately, it started raining and they could not complete the haul away of the refrigerator (my driveway is on an incline and it would not have been safe). I am not upset about the last part as this was clearly XPO's A-Team and you can't have them getting injured. Second time: After more than a dozen (not hyperbole) calls to both XPO and Lowes to haul away this refrigerator (a service for which I had already been charged), the guys that showed up: - did so without basic supplies needed to do the job (a wrench, a screw driver, and measuring tape would probably do the trick for most of their day) - broke a piece of wood molding (that I was very obviously making given half a second of thinking) by grabbing it to try to break off the door of the refrigerator for haul away. Thanks guys for ruining 20 minutes of work; no need to ask if it's okay to grab a piece of material off a work surface. I lent a hammer as clearly the effort to do it correctly wasn't going to happen. - scratched and dented the heck out of my back deck. - argued and cursed at each other the entire time. To be fair, one of the guys was going about task in a way that would have hurt one or both of them. - left trash behind on my back porch - left pieces of the refrigerator behind in my driveway and on the street I'd complain to XPO, but their response would be to show up on the wrong day, carelessly break something I like or need, and then back into my neighbor's car while driving away. read more

Yelly and Michael in the Appliance section of the RidgeHill/Yonkers store both displayed extra, above the ordinary customer service. My mother and I were there one afternoon last week and there were at least three customers being helped before us. Yelly and Michael were juggling tasks and everyone's needs so well and thoroughly that I felt I had to submit a review. As a matter of fact, Michael was running to get help and find answers to questions. I have never seen such a sense of urgency by an associate in any store ever. In addition, Yelly was able to make a call for me while multitasking for another customer. I was impressed and you should be too! read more

I went to the store to make a purchase in the bathroom design department and it was a great experience that I have to write a review about Ken in that department. He was great. He was attentive, responsive and took his time no matter that others were waiting. I hope someone from that store will read this review. As I waited for his assistance and watched how he helped the customer before me - I knew that this was going to be a good experience. He was the best - it was my first time at the store and I would go back based on my experience with Ken. He answered all questions, provided suggestions and he knows the merchandise and the products. It was refreshing and reassuring. He went above and beyond and I just had to write a review about someone that made such an impression on me. I was not the only one in the store that felt that way - two others were talking to me about how pleasurable it was to have him as the associate to answer your questions. I recommend Ken to anyone who is in that department and wants good customer service, great knowledge of the products and able to put it all together - HE is great. read more

Terrible experience. Husband and I purchased a refrigerator on Sunday and scheduled delivery for today, Tuesday. I got a call when the delivery was scheduled telling me that the fridge was not in stock. I tried calling and speaking to a manager with no luck. They just lost my patronage. I recommend if you purchase something and they tell you that it is in stock that you should ensure that they physically go there to see the item in the warehouse. Never ever come here. I ordered a door THREE MONTHS AGO and it is still not installed. The first contractor they sent measured wrong. Sent another contractor to measure. Then I couldn't get in touch with anyone in the store. I called 29 times (I counted) an NO ONE ANSWERED. Finally had to drive there. Got the door ordered. It's expensive, over $3,500. Takes 4 weeks to arrive. I'm told a contractor will call me. He does after 7 days. Makes an appointment. Doesn't show. I call, make another appointment. He doesn't show again! Then I had to call Lowe's again to get a new contractor. Got one. He's nice, show's up on time with the door. THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY THE WRONG SIZE. Door is measured for the THIRD TIME and reordered. I had about as poor of an experienced I ever had anywhere. I was in the market for an outdoor shed. After not being able to secure a delivery on line, I found that the Yonkers store had what I wanted in stock. I decided to drive there. Upon arriving there, I did not find the item on the shelves. I approached an associate, who promptly told me that there was nothing in the back of the store and everything was out. I advised him that their website showed that they had the item in the store and asked him to check. He was very unhappy to do what I asked but said he would check. I never saw the guy again. I approached another associate. He looked in the system and confirmed that indeed I was correct but that the system is typically wrong. He suggested another item that was slightly bigger than what I was looking for. After measuring, I felt it was an ok choice. I was so tired of the process, I gave in. After all the product was right there in front of me. We proceeded to the check out together. The associate handed the ticket to the cashier in customer service. The item was to big to fit into my car and I chose to have it delivered for the fee of $65. I was told that the best delivery available was on June 18th, which was in 6 days from the date of purchase. I agreed, paid, filled out forms and left. On the eve of the 17th, I received a call from the store, telling me that the item I purchased has not arrived at the store and delivery would be rescheduled for the 26th of June. I advised the young lady that the item was physically in there when I purchased it. She agreed to check and disappeared for 20 min, leaving me on hold. When she got back on the phone, she happily advised me that the item was indeed there and my delivery would be the next day as originally scheduled. Later that evening I got an automated call confirming my delivery would take place between 12-6pm on the 18th. I arranged for my handy man to come in and put it together. 18th came and went. I called the store 6 times and did not get anyone to answer the call. The next day, after trying to call a few times unsuccessfully, I drove to the store. There, customer service told me that the system said my delivery date was scheduled for the 26th. I had to tell the whole story from the beginning but was told that the item was not in the store and it was shipped from another store. I was quickly offered my money back if I was not happy with the delivery date. I decided to confirm the 26th. They said they would try to deliver sooner if they could. 26th came and went. No delivery, no call. I called many more times - no answer. I drove to the store again the next day. It was a Saturday and the store was mobbed. No one at the door, controlling the flow of people coming in. Customer service desk is located directly next to the main entrance. The area was packed with people. Anyone coming into the store, had to make their way through the crowd waiting in line, pushing and shoving, no social distancing of any sort. Many people did not have masks on or had them hanging of their ears. That included employees. 30 min later it was my turn. I immediately asked to see a manager. I was asked to step aside and wait. 10 min later, a gentleman appeared. He was visibly irritated listening to my story. I expected him to offer to look for my item, physically or in the computer system. Instead, he told me about how they just changed delivery managers and that should make everything better going forward. He asked me for my receipt, handed it to someone and told them to give me back my money. That was that. After getting home, I called the main office number. Automatic recorder told me that, due to COVID, approximate wait time was 3 hours! Needless to say, I will not shop at Lowe's again. Companies like these do not deserve to be in business. how being home during a pandemic has made me a handy person , well if buying plants and flowers at lowes makes me handy then i wear my handy badge with honor. at the ridge hill mall which is a ghost town with many stores closed . follow the rules via wearing a mask and keep your distanced , i notice some sections and aisles are closed but the main stuff folks need is available. i got some easy to maintain plants and a few flowers in dirt pots . i took a chance to see about getting a 5 cubic chest freezer but no good until august which by then will not be needed . not too many folks working the floors which is understandable and just enough cashiers working so lines dont form . i did snag some overrated bounty towels and hand sanitizer which is a bit overpriced . at the moment no home deliveries from lowes so if you want something now, call your local lowes for hours and walk in rules. read more

I went to this store to purchase a refrigerator. They keep one person in that Dept, no matter how many customers and even though I asked for more help from a manager that never came. I made my purchase, and asked for an ice maker to be added. I was told by their worker, Michael Knight, it was discontinued. After calling later and speaking with another worker, the part was not discontinued, but needed to be purchased and sent to their store. I was never told when my order would arrive. I called the store and waited almost 3 hours and was hung up on multiple times. They are super unprofessional and horrible. I should have read these reviews before I decided to purchase a new grill at this Lowe's...what a nightmare! Purchased the grill on 7/3. Free assembly and delivery...great! Earliest available delivery is 7/13 (I thought "10 days...really?!", but I didn't need it by the 4th, so ok. I get a call the night of the 12th CONFIRMING MY DELIVERY for the 13th between 7 and 11am. The grill doesn't come on the 13th. I call Lowe's and they told me "No one was here to assemble the grill so we couldn't deliver it". IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW THAT AHEAD OF TIME!! Why did they confirm the delivery?! Not even a heads-up on the 13th...they just didn't show up. When were they going to inform me the grill wasn't coming? So during my phone call they reschedule the delivery for the 16th...guess what?...the delivery was cancelled by Lowe's once again! Two weeks after the purchase of the grill, I still don't have it. I tried calling the "delivery department" multiple times, but no one picks up the phone...they just let it ring and ring and ring. That's not how you do business! I will never shop there again. I was very disappointed when I went today and asked 2 young men that work there to help me in the blinds section. They ignored me and were fooling around. I was appalled at their lack of professionalism. It must of shown in my face cause as I was going to ask them if they heard me, one said in a low voice, give me a minute. Then they continued joking around amongst themselves. I walked away and asked a lady worker there and I asked if she could help. She looked at the 2 cliowns doing nothing so I said, please don't ask those 2 lazy clowns, and I told her what happened. Buy Your Kitchen Counter Somewhere Else Based on other reviews, I should have known that this was going to be a bad experience. It took me two visits, waiting for more than an hour each time, to get to speak to a kitchen design salesperson. I told myself that this aggravation was worth it to save some money on Silestone counters. It wasn't. Things got much worse. We waited for four weeks after we paid in full, to get the counter installed. The day after installation, we saw that one slab was not glued down properly and was loose. A large gap appeared where the counter was seamed. The fabricator/installer used by Lowes, Stone Systems of NJ (a truly awful company with tons of lousy reviews online), tried to blame us! After many phone calls to the installer and to Lowes, they eventually agreed to make the repair - only to come to our home 3 weeks later and refuse to do it! Another appointment was made for a few days later and they didn't show up! We called Cosentino, the manufacturer of Silestone, for assistance, since Lowes did nothing to solve the problem. After disputing the credit card charge, only then did the installers come to correct the problem - 4 weeks after installation! For 4 weeks we could not use our kitchen and had to put our kitchen remodeling on hold. Lowes of Yonkers and their fabricator Stone Systems of NJ, truly deserve the many, many lousy reviews online. Their customer service is non-existent. What they put us through was unbelievable - and without a single apology for the endless inconvenience and aggravation they caused us. Avoid buying anything in this store. They have poor customer service, professionalism or even any compromise with good service. The employees are hard to find if you want to buy anything, they have an attitude towards customers that make you feel like they are working for free or making you a favor by selling you what you want to buy and pay for. I bought a gas range stove, with haul away and installation. After having problems with the delivery date and trying to talk with someone in the store for 3 days, my range was arranged to be delivered. When finally the product was delivered, the guys from the delivery company were unaware of the haul away and installation. I tried to call the store, but no one picked up the phone, and when someone did I was informed that the person that could help me was taking his lunch break and I had to wait. Of course, I had to refuse the delivery and sent it back...I also had a terrible time with the guys from the delivery company because they did not speak any English! WTH!!! Besides the incompetence and unprofessionalism of the Lowe`s store, I also had to deal with three guys that did not understand what I was saying and I couldn`t understand what they were saying as well....just ridiculous! I was frequenting this place for garden and small home items and never had a problem. Unfortunately, I'm giving them such a low rating because of how they are handling this pandemic. We were there Saturday and there were so many people in the store. Some not wearing masks or gloves, there were Senior Citizens, and no signs for social distancing or attempts to limit the number of people going in at a time. Lowe's Main website states all the steps they have taken, but unfortunately the Lowe's in our area have not taken the steps to protect it's customers. Go there at your own risk. Sadly, I won't be returning as a customer. Crossing my fingers that Home Depot has their act together. read more
