If u go a newbie / beginner/ amateur when it comes down to Bering handy, ask for John in the morning shift or ask for Louis In The evening shift. They are knowledgeable , any questions you have they will answer for. They will assist you and inform you on their sales and help you save in your wallet. They have a huge selection on hand held tools. It's a hardware store so lowes carry alot of goods. read more

Staff was super friendly. First one sent me to where I thought item. Should be. Second one said no clear on other side of store. Third one said no, looks like out of stock but was so gracious to go all the way back across the store to check with receiving. Online said 200 in stock otherwise I wouldn't have come in. What is the point of box stores again? Too late to go in person to Home Depot but ended up coming home and ordered online. Lowe's was a week away from delivering and wanted 70 bucks for delivery. As a homeowner, my husband and I have shopped in both Lowe's and Home Depot for over 20 years. We have spent an extraordinary amount of money in both of these stores. We rarely need to make returns, but we just had a recent instance of having to return 5 bags of polymeric sand because we decided to have the job done by a contractor. I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience to learn that there is a 90 day window on returns (with receipt) and NO EXCEPTIONS ARE GRANTED FOR A RESELLABLE ITEM such as polymeric sand! Needless to say, we have made our LAST purchase at Lowes and I will be sharing this VERY NEGATIVE experience EVERYWHERE I can. read more

Waited over a half hour for a manager to come help me resolve a return issue. She never came out. From customer service representatives of the phone to store employees.Nobody could give accurate information regarding their return policy.Nor was anybody willing to help. They have a ridiculous forty eight hour return policy for appliances, dealing with a contractor to purchase.And install does not happen within forty eight hours.And they don't want to hear nothing other than this is our policy.There's nothing we could do.Absolutely.Horrible customer service, nobody willing to help the customer. Lowe's is a deceptive company. My 90 year old mother went to purchase a refrigerator CASH at the Yonkers store. My sister accompanied her and they chose a particular refrigerator. When delivery was attempted, they brought the wrong one - which is essentially fraud. That is called 'bait and switch'. They did not take possession of the refrigerator and the men returned with it. My sister jumped in her vehicle and went back to the store. They told her she would have to wait for 24 hours on an email for a refund. It is now going on 72 hours and we have not seen any email. I tried calling the store after 7:00 p.m. last night and I got AI responses that could not handle the call. NO HUMAN. This morning I spoke to 6 people in 5calls - Javier, Petagaye (who transferred me to Nina at a Kentucky location who could not assist), Chris, Robert (who hung up the telephone on me when he overheard me talking with ABC news and asked if that was what I was doing and then said he would not speak to me anymore because it was now a 'legal' matter before hanging up). The last person with whom I spoke, Emilio, was the most understanding representative who handled my frustration professionally, took time out to read the notes and to listen to me. I am hoping that the matter is resolved TODAY before I have to take any further action against Lowe's. I will NEVER EVER recommend or try to purchase anything from Lowe's. read more

This particular Lowe's has shown us- for the second time mind you- that location, location, location plays a significant role in the type and lack of service they deliver. We noticed water damage in our kitchen laminate floor then hubs began ripping DIY-style. But while doing that, we figured we might as well get rid of our 20+ year old cabinets and get on board with a sleeker design. We visited the Kitchen Dept. here in late April '21 in hopes of solidifying a deal. Sergey delivered outstanding kitchen cabinetry expertise the day we met him, gave him a scope of our kitchen and in turn, he detailed how he was going to execute our job like a drill sergeant- which I almost liked. We had some measurement homework to do and emailed him those along with photos 3 days after meeting him. Email glitch delayed our communication and we re-sent our photographs. We anxiously waited for Sergey's word on how he was going to tackle our job but between emailing him and phoning the Kitchen Dept, everyone was MIA until someone told us Sergey was sick. Hubs made yet another appointment for a 3:30 with someone else. Seems odd that when hubs came here for his appt, this second guy, was cackling with a couple like there's no tomorrow and basically told my husband to come back in "20-30 minutes". That never happened. Let me be clear- I understand that COVID is to blame for labor shortages which makes home improvements way more difficult to acquire these days. But the dismissive and lack of customer service at THIS location, is proof that management and its employees do not put customers first and THAT- has NOTHING to do with COVID. My unfortunate experience began in June, with the Lowes Ridgehill location in Yonkers NY, where I consulted a very competent kitchen designer about replacing cabinets. Everything went downhill after that! 1)The original kitchen designer left the state 2)The next designer started my order then left the store 3) No one answered my inquiry emails 4) Managers were dismissive and rude on the phone, telling me they had to check with the cabinet maker and then not calling or emailing me 5) The cabinet maker repeatedly texted, emailed and called trying to schedule a delivery of the order that was incomplete 6) My finalized design could not be processed because there were no designers left in the store and no one could access the plans 7) Rather than transfer the order to another store, a manager suggested that I receive the incorrect cabinet order and send back the trim that I did not want, and pay for the trim I wanted 7) I emailed a cancellation request and received no response Needless to say, I cancelled my order and the credit card! Stopped here after Home Depot and I must say the experience IS "different". I usually go to Home Depot because, well I forget about Lowes. Lowes is like the prettier, understated albeit forgettable little sister of the wildly popular Prom Queen slash Cheer Captain slash Mean Girl that is Home Depot. If you are accustomed to the Home Depot layout, a visit to THIS Lowe's will feel really different, but in a good way. This Lowe's feels geared for the retail sect. The soccer mom who fancies herself brave enough to install her own tile or the corporate dad who is a weekend contractor will find this Lowe's to be perfectly set up for their needs. There is a definitive retail feel here, not a place I'd expect to see many construction people. The aisles are neat, the store is well lit and the staff is friendly, when you can find one. So here I am again. I took an assertive pill and set to go inside and stand my ground if the piped in music fell short of pleasant crooning and amounted to cacophonous noise pollution. Well, it was Bob Denver?!? So, I was dispirited but not upset. The isles are impeccably clean and the various items organized and everything was in its place in every place had its things. There was ample staff happy to answer my questions and direct me to exactly where I needed to go. Their super clearance items were on a special cart and I scored myself a Halloween ghoul projector for about $14. My main gripes with this place is the loud and and obnoxious music, sometimes haplessly diffident staff, and the absence of a food truck-- let's face it, if you're busy outside working hard all day these three things are the despair trifecta. Today I had delivered and installed an electric dryer. Needless to say the scheduled delivery was within 40 hours of my purchase. Want to write that both the salesman (Mike) at the store and the two delivery gentlemen that both installed the new machine and hauled away the old unit optimized professionalism. The two delivery men's entire process to bring into my home and install took less then twenty minutes. They were thorough and knew exactly what had to be done. I had the unfortunate experience of encountering a stalker employee at the Yonkers Lowes at Ridge Hill NY. This employee is named Heather (either working in customer service and/or the gardening department), who made a false claim about a unattended shopping cart hitting her car, which I was nowhere near, and flew away due to the wind. I was surprised to hear this accusation as she approached since I was nowhere near the cart and did not witness this event. However, the wind apparently blew the unattended cart away, which is out of my control (meaning I did not have any intent of doing such a thing), and the shopping cart is owned by Lowes, so therefore, I would not be held responsible for this occurrence but rather the Lowes facility. The situation escalated EXTREMELY as Heather became increasingly aggressive and demanding. She began to follow me around the store until I was finished shopping and while at check out. Despite there being no evidence of any contact between the cart and her vehicle, I then agreed to go to with her to her car to look at the "damage" (which had already a lot of previous damage, and the mark she was pointing out did not seem like it was caused by the cart). After looking with her and explaining how a shopping cart could not have made the large mark she claims it made, then, I asked her how she wished to proceed, by which she then said nothing. BUT THEN! Heather follows me to my vehicle and starts taking pictures of my car, my daughter, and I. I found the entire ordeal to be incredibly unprofessional and very unsettling. To be accused of something I didn't do since it was out of my control and then be harassed by an employee was unacceptable. Disturbed, I called Lowes to speak about this situation, it took 15-20 minutes to finally reach a supervisor/manager, yet nothing has been resolved. I STRONGLY URGER others to be wary of this particular employee and their behavior at this Lowes location. It's clear of the extreme unprofessionalism occurring at the store. As for the false claim about the shopping cart hitting her car, I can only assume that it was an attempt to get money from me to pay for her pre-existing damage. Love this place, specially when you compare to the orange alternative. I found the employees nicer, more willing to help, more knowledgeable both in general home improvement matters and in store products and there are more of them so easier to get help when you need it. They seem more connected to the store. Probably because they get treated better. Vs the alternative just down the road where they generally don't give two s**ts. Basically I don't understand the bad reviews. Probably from people who don't do a lot of projects and their expectations are a bit too unrealistic. read more

For the first time, the delivery guys said that the icebreaker was broken then it was on the 5th fl and then they were not able to pass the fridge through the door. All of them is LIE. Lowes seriously messed up my lawnmower delivery in the past. They had the wrong date; they had the wrong time; they didn't tell us to measure; they gave me the wrong kind of mower; they didn't tell me what kind of mower it was. I was looking for electric they sold me a gas mower. I was looking for self-propelled; they sold me a non-self-propelled mower. It was a big mess up which is why they only get three stars, but many times I've gone to Lowe's and they've done a good job, so I don't think it's fair to give them just one star based on the experience of messing up a washer and dryer and a lawn mower. Maybe they can earn more by having better service, but so far they've been doing a good job especially the new one that's over by BJ's in Yorktown Heights. Only time will tell. read more

No one cares. I purchased wire by the foot one day. I went back the next day and apparently they no longer sell by the foot on the next day. They rather send me from person to person to talk me out of the fact that I need it then help me. They told me they didn't have the tools to cut the wire as he is holding a wire cutter in his hand. Someone phones to ask ( x fake choice), we reply we want to cancel order, they say it's cancelled. Next week, someone else phones to ask the same question. They say there is no cancellation recorded, but can do so now. The same scripted answers for solution that will happen in several days had been spoken by eight different people who had all spoken to their management teams. I really, really, want to like this store. It's the closest hardware store to the house and it's never crowded, even on a weekend. However, the repeated rejection of requests for assistance from multiple employees make it really difficult to want to come back here. I must admit they are very consistent in their dedication to not answering questions and not giving assistance in any department. It is pretty easy to understand why their nearest competitor, five minutes away, is packed. Lowes sold an extended warranty on a GE dryer- and when Assurant ( the extended warranty company that Lowes sold to me) wasn't working after 2 gas valve leaks within the dryer itself ( within 6 months)- they were rude. In particular Delio, the assistant manager, was MOST unhelpful and bordering completely rude. I went into the store after complete frustration after Assurant was not following through on their service end. They literally lied at least 4x and give you a no reply email so there isn't a paper trail. Wasted 10 hours in 5 weeks on the phone. Disgraceful. NEVER but extended warranty. They could care less if pits your family at risk with gas. Not caring AT ALL that family at risk from 2 gas leaks within 6 months , not caring that second time no dryer for 5 weeks and stating that Lowes had nothing to do with it now and it was a process. read more

They are understaffed and at least 1/3 of the staff that's working here do not wear masks covering both their nose in their mouth or they were no masks at all. Really the manager doesn't care about your life or anyone in your family's life. There's this thing called COVID-19 right now. And eventually you're not allowed to even enter the store without a mask with us and keep people from working here are not wearing masks - Or wearing them beneath her nose so in effect, they are not wearing Masks. We might as well put a bandanna around the top of her head and say they're complying with the New York State law. I hope the manager actually reads this. I hear some of the reviews here and gets some of them. Their customer's service need to improve. Just too many people are frustrated by it. Store itself is very good and you WILL save money here. But are you OK with waiting for so long for service? It is up to you. But when you do get help, they are great and they will make sure you will get what you came here for. Visited Lowe's on 6/7/20 to pick up a few plants to update my window boxes from spring to summer plants, and everywhere I looked, the plants were either dead, dying or headed on that direction. I have never had a worse retail experience in my life. Ordering a washer and dryer from them has been an absolute nightmare from delivery to installation. Had to wait 6 weeks for washer & dryer although they never updated us on the status of when the items come in. Finally they come, we pay for installation, they guys don't install the new exhaust hose for the dryer that we paid for. Unreal. I welcome the store manager to call me. In the paint section was an employee named Justin who was more than helpful .
