Simply the Best has the best blueberries and will text me when they come in. The rest of their fruit can be good too, but their blueberries are my favorites. I like that the store is close to my house and has easy parking. The cashiers are fast. All in all, it's a good store. read more

I went to Simply the Best today for the first time. I'm not sure if it was the manager or the owner; however, I did hear him ask one of the employees, who was stocking produce, if everything was going okay. He smiled and asked how I was doing and I returned the greeting. A few minutes later, the same man walked by me in such a small space and rubbed up again my butt with the side of his body; he didn't say excuse me, and didn't make a gesture that he needed to get past me. Since he stayed so close to me, I had to walk the opposite direction towards the other employee and around the other produce to get what I needed. There were just the three of us in that area of the produce section, so it wasn't crowded. I will not be returning, please beware. read more

My brother and I stopped here on Mother's Day to pick out flowers for mom's garden. The service was great, selection was good and prices were reasonable. The employee even helped us with the plants into the car and laid down plastic so my car would not get dirty. He even suggested we purchased the flowers in flats, otherwise it would have been more expensive individually and for less plants. We normally go to Home Depot for plants, but we will most certainly be back due to the great customer service and to support this local business! read more

From my wife: The store posted 5 signs that said "hanging baskets $18.99" and no visible signs showing any other price for hanging baskets. I took 3 to the cashier who rung them up for $24.99 each. I told her that she was not correct because the signs said $18.99. She said that the multi-colored baskets were more, to which I replied that the posted signs made no such distinction and the store should honor posted prices. She called over the manager (owner?) who insisted that the price was $24.99. When I told him about the signs, he expressed doubt (I do not believe him) so I took him out to see the signs. "What signs?" he asked though they were in front of his face. I pointed. "Well, what do want them to say?" I said, how about "FROM 18.99" or note a price range. He then angrily ripped down the signs (asking not the cashier to add the word "from") and berated me for complaining. I had been a regular customer for 20 years, but will never return to a place so disdainful of its customers. So I have been going there since I moved here and they were fairly new. Every time I have gone its been an absolute pleasure shopping. The staff is always welcoming, the produce and everything else is excellent. The prices are fair. The nursery plants are always top quality. If you call ahead they will set plants aside for you to pick from. All around a solid place to shop. Its nice to shop local. They know what they are doing. Sure you may get a bad pepper once a year, but understand they deal with perishable goods. Its not like they do it on purpose.... This is not their first rodeo. They been in business longer than i been alive at other locations. Its our go to place! read more

This review is for firewood only. I bought a face cord of firewood from Simply the Best 2 times in the last 18 months. The first time, the man at the counter told me it was unseasoned wood and gave me a discount. That was fine. The second time Was just a month ago. I specifically asked if it was seasoned, and he said yes, twice. It was terrible wood. Unseasoned, water logged, muddy, irregular shapes. It's not burning well at all. It's a mess to handle. I will have a hard time going back to them for firewood. read more

Best place for produce and daily essentials. Family like environment.

This is the best place in the area for produce although you still do have to be careful as sometimes they leave out stuff that is past its prime. Prices are excellent - better than the supermarkets and much less than ridiculous Cherry Lawn down the road They often have less common stuff ; some examples- fresh tumeric root, purple potatoes, Asian white sweet potatoes; smoked garlic from France. Also have some dairy - good quality eggs but cheese more expensive than I expect. I won't comment on the garden stuff because I don't shop for that but they do seem to do a brisk business in plants and trees or whatever. read more

Simply the best is simply the best! The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The fruit and vegetables are great and well priced. The tree service is great, on time, and clean up is excellent They have been a lifesaver during the coronavirus with their curbside pickup. What else can I say except that they are the best! read more

We have been going here for years to get fresh reasonably priced produce, flowers and shrubs. Never disappoints ! The 80's music, happy "quirky" in a good way employees always make us feel welcome. I've been shopping here weekly for my produce, milk and eggs for years. I find the staff helpful and friendly. As with any produce, you occasionally get a "bad apple", but on the whole, I find the fruits and vegetables of good quality and excellent value compared to the grocery stores. Grocery stores may have occasional specials on one thing or another, but then everything else is too expensive or poor quality. At Simply the Best, the quality and prices are more even, that is, the quality of everything is pretty good and the prices are more even. Nothing is overwhelmingly cheap, but nothing is crazy expensive either. I can just shop here weekly, and get what I need without worrying. read more

Nice produce and pretty cheap prices. They even sell flowers, vegetable plants, trees and some kosher products! Most everything is fresh. Except for the Persian cucumbers were soft. Good service. Hummus and juice seltzer and pita. Try it to multitask for plantings and labor and foods at the same place! read more

Great produce at a reasonable price! The lady cashier in the front is beautiful, and i go in just to see her. The owner is not nice, and disrespects his employees in front of customers, and i find that unprofessional, and his son is equally as rude. If this place was ran by better businessmen, than maybe it would expand to become a bigger store. The location is great, but i feel that they do a poor job at maximizing their profits. read more

We have been shopping here for nearly ten years. Increasingly the produce is poor - or even "off". They sell sour milk and produce which is bad when you get it home (heavily wrapped so hard to tell in the shop whether it's OK or not). They then insult you when you return it later in the day. Throughly disagreeable people, running a sorry business. Such a shame as it could be great. A shop like this wouldn't last a minute in France or Italy, or even New York City. And the lady cashier - rude and a misery! Does the owner know how crummy it is? I wonder. read more

i shopped in this store regularly until a few days ago when the store was crowded and i asked a store employee to pass me a package of eggs . the store employee checked the eggs first and then passed to me. after i paid and returned home. i found 2 of the 12 eggs were broken. it is not possible for the store employee to not discover the eggs were broken when he checked them. This morning i returned to the store and told the store employee this. he said I broke the eggs. I was very upset and told the employee that he was very mean and evil in saying those things and intentionally passed a package of eggs to customers knowing there were broken ones inside. the store manager overheard our conversation and told me that i shouldn't complain over 2 broken eggs and shouldn't call his employee evil even if his employee passed the broken eggs to me. then the store manager told me to never shop there again. the store manager said that i shouldn't care about 2 broken eggs because he could give me a dollar as a refund, which he never did, and also because he could even give me a package of eggs as a refund, which he also never did. Just as another reviewer said, this place only wants your money and cared absolutely nothing about customer satisfaction. if you complained about inferior products, they will not only not give refund but also insult you.
