However I just had a very disappointing experience with them and will no longer be a customer. I went to Michael's about a month ago and was helped by a young man who I told EXACTLY what I needed: a) a bush for PRIVACY that b) could GROW IN A POT that would c) NOT BLOW OVER in wind. I explained in careful detail how I lived by the Hudson River where it could get windy, and how I was not allowed to plant anything IN the soil around my patio, but my homeowner's association would allow potted plants. The young man assured me that the skip laurel I chose was a sturdy choice, and would be perfect in the large pot he helped me select, suggesting that Michael's put gravel in the pot before they added fertilizer and topsoil. I paid for the plant, pot and soil and had it delivered to my home. In total this cost me hundreds of dollars. I water it per instructions, even sent a photo to Sarah to make sure the plant was doing well, and was assured it was. Last night it fell over in the wind, twice. Some of the leaves are turning yellow. This morning I called Michael's and spoke to someone named Casey who brusquely told me all sales are final and there are no warranties. Needless to say I am unhappy, feel ripped off, and I think VERY differently about Michael's than I used to. I am hoping this review will prompt them to come and help me (do I need a bigger, heavier pot? did I buy the wrong kind of plant?) and make good on Michael's claims, but I am not holding my breath.
