I have been a customer of Michael's Nursery for over 40 years, and have loved them and their plants…read moreand their staff all this time. However I just had a very disappointing experience with them and will no longer be a customer. I went to Michael's about a month ago and was helped by a young man who I told EXACTLY what I needed: a) a bush for PRIVACY that b) could GROW IN A POT that would c) NOT BLOW OVER in wind. I explained in careful detail how I lived by the Hudson River where it could get windy, and how I was not allowed to plant anything IN the soil around my patio, but my homeowner's association would allow potted plants. The young man assured me that the skip laurel I chose was a sturdy choice, and would be perfect in the large pot he helped me select, suggesting that Michael's put gravel in the pot before they added fertilizer and topsoil. I paid for the plant, pot and soil and had it delivered to my home. In total this cost me hundreds of dollars. I water it per instructions, even sent a photo to Sarah to make sure the plant was doing well, and was assured it was. Last night it fell over in the wind, twice. Some of the leaves are turning yellow. This morning I called Michael's and spoke to someone named Casey who brusquely told me all sales are final and there are no warranties. Needless to say I am unhappy, feel ripped off, and I think VERY differently about Michael's than I used to. I am hoping this review will prompt them to come and help me (do I need a bigger, heavier pot? did I buy the wrong kind of plant?) and make good on Michael's claims, but I am not holding my breath.

Yes, they have great plants and produce…read more I come here for the apple pies. The best crust, like grandma or great grandma made. Better than Briermere. Yes I said it. Very flaky. Flavor. And the bonus? Most of the time they are still warm on the bottom. Just the apple. The other flavors must be made elsewhere because the crust is not the same. No, I'm not a fan of that other place, just not impressed. More impressed with a place way further up county but it doesn't matter. Westchester Greenhouse makes the best Apple Pie. Yes, I have busted into this pie in the car many times. Forks ready. The pie is still hot, folks. Seasonally, the apple cider donuts are the best anywhere. Yes, better than That place. And that other one up there with the mazes, and bouncy houses and things you don't want or need or have to pay extra to walk on their property. Donuts. That's what that line is about. It moves fast. They hand you the box in the line, they are hot. And with more apple cider taste than those other places too. Apple pie and apple cider donuts. Oh and Wave Hill breads if you can't make it to the farmers markets. Everything else is a plus. Plants. Produce. Wreaths. It's all good. I should buy raspberries from them and tell them to make be a custom raspberry pie with that crust they have on their Apple.

It wasn't until I read through the entire ingredients of the product I consumed where I saw "macadamia nut" listed in the mix of all the other ingredients in the products & it wasn't in bold. As someone with a severe nut allergy, this could be dangerous. The donuts are great though.
