My husband called them today looking for a certain shrub, the guy on the phone put him on hold for a few minutes then came back and said that they had between 6 and 8 of the shrubs in stock.. We show up and 2 different guys had to help us and finally was told they don't have any in stock and haven't even gotten any this summer. A waste of an hour of our time and gas. read more

Four days ago I went to Lowe's in Ware. I've had previous minor issues with customer service previously but, nothing that would deter me from returning until now. I didn't plan on buying peel and stick wallpaper but did find an amazing deal on a print I really like. It was marked for clearance and was a great price. I grabbed two rolls and brought it to the register to double check the price and purchase. The next day I wallpapered the wall with all I had but due to having to line up the print needed more. I returned to Lowe's to buy more. The clearance sticker was gone but thought it had fallen. I grabbed three more rolls. Brought to the register and they rang up double the price. Someone called for a manager because I questioned it. No one showed up so went to customer service. She verified it was full price I said I know I'd like a manager. She called three different times no one. She grabbed someone walking by. This person proceeded to tell me "just because it was marked for clearance doesn't mean it stays on clearance ". Then told me it was a mistake because someone mismarked it. Not my problem, but don't lie to my face repeatedly to try to cover your mistakes. Should have been rectified. Paid 6k for sliding patio door and install. Salesman and installer measured existing door. Door came in wrong after 8 week's. Ordered new door, took another 8 weeks. Installer removed and cut our door alarm and never said a word. I complained to corporate, They said installer not liable for electrical work. Said hire an electrician. Within the past year, I have had a plethora of issues with the Ware Lowe's. The employees act like they don't care and come off as rude and inept. Returning a product is the most painful thing of all, the new Lowe's return policy is absolutely atrocious and does not cater to the customer in any way, shape or form. My most recent experience at the customer service counter was the most painful one yet. I was attempting to exchange a defective set of drillbits (Spyder Mach-blue) which were purchased the same day, probably 4 hours prior. The shank on one of the drillbits broke off while using it, the drill bit tip was still in perfect condition, however was unusable due to the defect to the shank. I was advised by a woman at the counter, named Sue that the product was opened, and she would be refusing the return. After explaining the product was purchased the same day and of course had to be opened to be used, and that the drill bit's tip condition was perfect, it clearly was a manufacturing issue. Sue advised me again the product was opened and she "could refuse return of any item for any reason". A completely asinine response, I was simply looking to just exchange the product for the same exact one. Her extremely inappropriate and condescending manner was like nothing I've ever seen within a retail store. Out of frustration I left the store and came back no more than 5 mins later and was able to successfully return the item and repurchase (another ridiculous, newly enacted Lowes policy) I was simply just looking to exchange the item for another. Additionally , Lowe's updated policy on the military discounts is extremely unfortunate, Lowe's has sold themselves out instead of properly provide to their military service member and family (like Home depot still does). I spend thousands of dollars every year with Lowe's, however, each negative experience I continue to have has made me resent the company and further solidified my decision to bring my business else where. read more

Beyond disappointed, I Ordered a gas range, Lowe's delivery skipped out despite myself already paying for install and delivery. On the day of delivery the installer backed out despite saying he was in his way with the stove, when installer did not call back I went to the store. I continued to try and reach out for three days between installer, Lowe's number, and received no reply until I went to the store. Service was extremely helpful at the store by two female staff and a younger gentleman named Ryan. They even offered to call me back immediately the next day with more info or another lead. I was extremely pleased and impressed despite my displeasure in not having a stove. This was until a non uniformed older male employee over took the conversation as he was supposedly checking out a different customer. Mind you, I had not spoken to this person at all about the situation. As he showed up, he began to bark and argue about my own personal experience with Lowe's thus far all while having no uniform or name tag on. None of the other employees spoke up to him as he continued to argue. I was very disheartened and have choosen to go elsewhere. Lowe's needs to do a better job ensuring ALL staff want to help customers. read more

I purchased a refrigerator on 9/19/22. Lee the young associate did a great job. I was to receive the on 9/21/22. I got a phone call on the 9/20/22 that it would be delivered between 1PM and 5PM. it was not delivered. I called Lowe's they said it was delivered. I was told to call the delivery company (XPO) I called they said it was delivered. I called XPO a second time and they said it was damaged. I did not get a call about the delivery being late or changed to a another day. I spoke to Lowe's again and could not get a delivery until Friday at the earliest. I told Lowe's that I was going to cancel the order, they said I could not get my money back until they see the damaged goods. Going back to Lowe's again is not something i have planned for the future. read more

I ordered a dishwasher to replace one that died. Because I wanted a higher-end one, I looked online and found one I liked that was available at my local Lowe's. Instead of just ordering online, I called and spoke to the rep, Elmer. He pointed out that it was a special order item that would take a couple of weeks. Since my son was coming home from college (and I didn't want to wash all those dishes by hand), I asked him specifically when it would be delivered. He gave me a date a few days before (Wednesday). I ordered the unit based on that date. On Monday I got a call from Skip in shipping saying that it was expected to arrive on the Tuesday truck and he'd call me with a 2-hour window for Wednesday. On Tuesday afternoon he left a message that it wasn't on the truck and that he'd schedule delivery for next Monday, which is not only after my son is home, it's at a time when I am not around to accept it. I called Skip and his response was that there was nothing he could do, "It wasn't on the truck." When I pointed out that this was a big problem, he hung up on me. You could feel the "I don't care, this is just a job" in his voice, so that was no surprise. I called back and spoke to Veejay, the store manager. He was more professional but had the same "Nothing I can do" response. He did offer to substitute a lower-end in-stock model and refund the difference, but this wasn't what I was trying to do, so I cancelled the order. Now I have to start over and I WON'T be using one of these mega-retailers, I can assure you that. Maybe this should really be a criticism of the Lowe's delivery system rather than a specific store, but I really feel that both the promise and the communication should have been much better. I have bought several thousands of dollars of appliances and other home store products from this store, but they'll never get another penny from me or anyone I can share my story with. read more

Jerry has everything st up long before the kids show up. The entire store seems to run the same way. Very neat and very clean. Though I wasn't looking to purchase anything, it was a pleasure to walk around for a bit and check things out. I am a 74 year old veteran, 100 percent disabled from my three tours in Vietnam. Power outages are a problem for me and my wife so we decided to get a generator. We bought a generator from Lowes in October and we were told it would take would take 8 to 10 weeks. When the time was up we called and were told that was never the case that the salesman was wrong. We ordered in October so we would have it for this winter. In Jan we called to ask where the generator was and were told we wouldn't get it until Feb. I called and complained and was told to send an email. I did. We never got a answer from Lowes on the problems we talked about, and now we have further problems. The electrician came today 2/16. He did his part and told us the gas plumber would be here today. After a while I called the office he left the number to and was told the gas plumber would get here maybe next week on Monday. Then there would be further delays because they don't know when the inspector can be scheduled to inspect the work. Meantime, Lowes had no problem taking out money for the entire job. We have been lied to the whole way on this. I am going to put here the email I sent to Lowes last month, when we had been told this job would have been finished. By the way, we didn't get a ten percent discount. We didn't even get a call back 01/05/2021 Proposal and contract discrepancy Last October (10/2020) my wife and I began looking for a generator for our home in Holland Mass. We looked at different places and realized we needed someone to come out and help us decide which size generator we needed for our home. At the Lowe's store in Ware, Mass. we were told to get someone to come out and look at the size of the house to get an estimate of which generator we should buy. We chose Lowe's because it has a good reputation. A salesman came out on 10/27/2020. We asked him what size we would need, how much it would cost and when it could be installed. We let him know we wanted the generator for this winter. He wrote down a proposal that said we needed a 13 kw generator, it was going to cost $7,639, and that the installation would be completed within 8 to 10 weeks from the date of the order. We chose to go with that proposal, and paid him $2,546. When the 10 weeks were up (early January) and we had nothing, I called and got no call back. I called Keionya Bolar at Lowes and told her what had happened. She looked into it and found that the date had been changed to Feb. 15, 2021, and that it would likely be much later than that for the completion of the project. We went with the 8 to 10 week project completion on the proposal because we needed the generator for this winter. (We have already been without power once this year) Someone has been holding our $2,546 for months and will be holding it or at least another month, most likely more. I understand shortages. Maybe if Generac would hire some people they would have more production. If there is a backlog of orders they are swimming in money that is in the bank for many months and collecting interest. My main problem is your project representative lied to us with his written proposal. I am sure now he knew when he said "8 to 10 weeks" on the proposal that it was never going to happen. He said that because he knew we wanted the generator for this winter, not next spring. This is not the way to do business. What your representative has done could be called fraud (bait and switch) Please don't tell me he did not know Generac was having problems filling orders. People who ordered last June and July , I now find out, are waiting for their generators. Your company should do something to make this right.I was comparing companies and was given incorrect information, when your representative knew the information was incorrect, in order to get me to sign a contract. I believe a 10% discount off the current price is fair to both of us. That would mean $7,639 minus 10% equals $6,875.10. Minus the amount we have already paid ($2,546) equals $4,329.10 left to be paid. It appears to me that you may not be able to do anything about installing my generator by the date stipulated by your representative on the proposal (Jan 7 would be the tenth week) but I also know that a ten percent discount off the current price is fair. I had purchased fencing on fri jun 10 from the construction services area. I was told to wait outside and someone would help me. After waiting for 20 minutes, I went back inside to inform them no one had come out to unlock the padlock. The lady who rang me up looked over at a man behind the desk and asked him if he had a key. He said, "No, I don't have a key and I can't help them." She then made an announcement on the intercom for management to go to outdoor fencing. I waited for a half hour before I went back in and talked to her again -- she again made an announcement. I went back outside and waited for another half hour and no one came to unlock the panels for me. An employee had come outside and saw me waiting. I talked to him and he said the man at the desk with the blue hat has a key can help me. I went in AGAIN, and saw a new man with a blue hat at the counter. I talked with him and he looked back at the original guy and asked if he had a key. Then he help up his keys and handed them to him. He had the keys the whole time!! He lied because he was too LAZY to do his job. What's worse is that he was the only person with keys, he knew we needed them, but REFUSED to do anything but stare at some pieces of paper in front of him. After loading my panels and leaving the area, he's outside in the loading area having his smoke break. WHO HIRES LOSERS LIKE THIS????!!! read more

I purchase an extended warranty on a hot water heater. The heater came with a five year and i purchased the additional six year warranty from Lowe's. The water heat started leaking out the top 10 years later. Lowe's setup up a tech to look at the heater to see if it could be repaired(there is no repair when the tank is leaking) The tech never called or returned my calls water continued to leak on the floor. After two weeks Lowe's stated we do NOT have a service person in the area to repair or replace the tank. So we will give you back the money you paid ten years ago. I explained to them I had replacement cost on the water heater and they owed for the replacement and labor they said NO. So I am out the additional $125.00 for the cost of the new tank and the labor to replace. Use caution when they try and scam you into buying the extend warranty. SCAM They sell a warranty that they know they can't service. read more

Love this store. Always helpful. Have purchase so many things here. Refrigerator, stove, lovely quartz counter tops, lots of wood, lots of paint. The staff is always ready to put things in the car for me, trouble shoot problems, find parts, etc. Deliveries coordinated and communicated very well. Can't understand why anyone would complain. Maybe the complainers have too much of a "snap my fingers" attitude. I'm at this store so much that everyone recognizes me and smiles. "What project is she working on now". read more

One issue after another....We purchased a washer, dryer and dishwasher. First issue was dishwasher was rang in under floor model item number....refund re-ring 1. Then we realized they put the wrong model dishwasher....refund re-ring 2. In the meantime our washer and dryer are being delivered and the dryer came dented. So now we have a washing machine and no dryer but they offered us a loaner as it was the holidays and they had to transfer a new dryer from the Springfield store. When the loaner was delivered the delivery team gouged and scratched our washer. When our new dryer was suppose to be set up for delivery we were told it was sold out from underneath them and it was back ordered for two months. Now we had to pick a new washer and dryer....refund re-ring 3. Those get delivered and the delivery team wires the dryer wrong, snapped the terminal screw as they torqued/cross threaded it with a drill, and scratched the door putting it on the washer. We haven't even received a call on the dishwasher that was suppose to be in on Nov 18th. At this point I will buy the parts on Amazon just to be done with it. Save yourself the hassle and time and go someplace else. read more

Ok, so I am walking around my house in my underwear and a 30 year old t shirt full of holes. After a month of waiting for the washer I ordered from Lowe's, this is all I have that is clean. I am cold, and really mad. I can't go to the laundromat as my 86 year old husband has kidney stones and I can't leave him for more than a 15 minute med or grocery run. Yes, the washer was a special order. I ordered it on 12/21. I was told it would be delivered on 1/7. On 1/7, no washer arrived. When I called, I was assured it would be delivered on 1/14, which again came and went, and no washer. Last week I was told it was on the road from the manufacturer, and would be at the store any day. Apparently, any day was yesterday. I got a call and was told the washer was in, and would be delivered today. At noon today, I called again, just to check, and was assured that the washer was on the truck to be delivered. Today. At 8pm, no washer. I called AGAIN. I was told the manager hadn't been in today, so I talked to the next guy down the chain of command. He said he'd check it out, and call back in 10 minutes. it is now 10:37pm. No washer, no call. Lowe's is ok for maybe lightbulbs and Christmas decorations. Maybe building supplies, but I wouldn't know about that. What I DO know is that I would discourage anyone from buying a washer (or probably anything that needs to be delivered) from Lowe's. Unless you don't mind walking around in your underwear in the middle of winter. read more

Deliveries in general cant be handled properly or with any order. 1 day ur in paint, the next in garden. No skills involved and nobody there cares. ASM's mail it in and have no managerial skills either. They just give in. Its like high school there. A popularity contest. If ur liked and suck up, ur a star. Speak up, try to improve things, actually care, ur ostracized. Mgmt thinks theyre smarter and better than u. And political correctness abounds! If ur gay or a lesbian (Im fine with that no problem) ur bulletproof no matter if ur incompetent cuz they wanna look good by having u as an employee. Have never had any issues at this particular store. Store is nicely arranged and there is always someone who asks if you need any assistance. I have had to return some items on occasion and it was always easy to do. There are usually no long lines at checkout either, shoppers should keep their eyes opened for clearance and discontinued items. I have gotten some really deep discounts and saved lots money this way. read more
