Bought an Ariens platinum snowblower in October 2022, used only few times over the past winters, this year 2025 started it for the first snow, made 3-4 passes on the driveway and there was a loud noise and it stopped working, unable to start it back up. Called Taplin, they were able to pick it up the next day. Eric called after checking it out and the said the motor was blown. Of course was 2 months out of warranty, he said would call Ariens and see what he could do. Because of Eric's perseverance they replaced the motor, at no charge to us. I bought. Ferris Zero turn mower from Taplin 6 years ago. I runs awesome and they had the best price by far. My mower broke while I was mowing on a Saturday late afternoon so I called Monday morning when they opened and asked if they could pick it up and fix it I also asked if it was still under warranty they said it was one day over on the warranty. I said wow that sucks and asked them to let me know the price before they fix it. I got a call a few days later and they said the motor was blown and it was 5 or 6 thousand if my memory serves me correctly. I said wow then they told me they were able to replace it under warranty! Always a quality company ... I have been very happy with every piece of equipment, (snow thrower, string trimmer w/accessories, chain saw, zero turn), I have purchased. I had my zero turn in for service and while I had some initial concerns, the management stepped in to address the issue in a very timely, proactive and honest way. Honestly, miscommunication happens, making sure the customer understands the issue and going above and beyond in relation to customer service is what truly stands out. Purchased an Ariens blower last Saturday, that was just delivered. Price was competitive with other dealers and the internet, though I think there is not much haggling on Ariens products, as they seem to require dealers to stay pretty close to list price. Ken the salesperson was friendly, as was the delivery person. They had what I wanted in stock, though not a banner year for snowblower sales. Showroom was clean and well organized. Delivery was free. I weighed an internet purchase with no sales tax vs local purchase where they put it together and perform the initial setup. Opted this route. Now that Allen's lawnmower closed..... when did Allen's close!!... they will probably be my go to place for parts and service. All in all, pleased with the entire process. Recommended. read more

Bought and serviced my Ariens Snowthower from Taplins. Great price, love the free pick up and delivery. However, I recently ran into an issue. Found I had a bad tire, looked it up on Taplins part finder and saw they sold a whole assembly for around a hundred bucks. More snow was coming, so I went down Monday to order. Told the gentleman my issue, told me they didn't have it in stock, but could order. Now, I'd over heard the previous two customers be told their stuff would be in next day, so when I ordered and was told they would call when it came in, I expected the same, next day. Its Thursday, we are expected to get 4 inches Saturday. Not getting a call, I called them and was told it would be here Monday, the 19th. Two days after the snow storm and days later than I expected. I got off the phone, called a local competitor who told me the tires lose the ability to bead seal over time and a simps tube would fix it. Brought it in and they had me out the door in no time and with considerable savings. Why didn't Taplin offer this either Monday or when I called today worrying about the coming storm? Tires fixed, so I do the right thing and call Taplin to let them know I will no longer require the tire assembly. I'm immediate told its already on its way and it can't be cancelled. I tell him (older gentleman) I was able to get it fixed at Allen Lawnmower and don't need it. He tells me they will have to send it back and theres a restocking fee. Things go south from here. He starts blaming me for not ASKING when it would be in. And while I will definitely take partial blame, he's the salesman, he's the one who ordered the part, he works in a business that specializes in snow equipment and had to know more storms were coming this weekend. As if his blaming the situation on me was infuriating enough, his tone capped it. He continued to talk over me, even tho I'd asked him to let me speak, finally pushed me to say a few 'choice' words and hang up. Is Taplin at fault for this situation? No, but this salesman is not a good representation for the company. Oddly, the tire went flat the day after it was delivered back to me after they had it for a tune up. But I said nothing about it, tubeless tires can do that and I was willing to eat a hundred dollar tire. But due to negligence poor customer service on his end, they lose out. My family switched to Taplin years and years ago from Allen, I'll be speaking with them and let them know to consider other options read more

I purchased an Ariens snowthower from Taplin back in 2015 and was very happy with the sales people that I worked with. They sent me out a tune-up reminder card in the mail which is great for a guy like me that pushes maintenance off to the last minute. They picked up my snow thrower for free and arranged to drop it off even though I could not be at my home to met them. They have been very professional and I would recommend them to anyone looking for snow removal equipment. read more

I was quick to respond to an unfavorable experience that I had getting warranty repairs on a lawn mower so I want to be quick with a good experience I had with this repair shop. We took the mower to Taplin on Interstate Drive in West Springfield on Friday the 12th late in the day and they told us they are very busy and would not be able to get it in the shop until the following Wednesdays 17th. To my surprise we received a call on Tuesday the 16th that the repairs were done. Now that's what I call great service; under promise and over deliver. I needed parts for an Ariens during the middle of a storm. Taplin had the belts and parts I needed in stock, so I could finish working. Friendly people, good inventory, and I'll use them in the future. Funny story: I checked with a big box store for an Ariens part, and the guy... I swear this is true... says "We only stock repair parts for the new machines. If you have one from a few years ago we don't stock those parts." I said to him, "Wait, if I have a new machine that doesn't need repair, you might have some parts for that, but if I have a machine that does need repair, then you don't carry those parts?" Ordered a part I needed there. The price was comparable and it came in the next day. When I went to pick it up I overheard the counter guy selling a nice mower to a customer. He started talking about a bagger for the mower. I butted into the conversation because I had problems with my bagger. He took the time to explain why I was having the problem and even gave me a few tips for cutting my grass. The service was excellent and greatly appreciated. A welcomed change from a few bad customer service related experiences I had experienced elsewhere lately. read more
