I ordered a new compact washer and dryer from the selection of only 2 brands on display at the store. I was told that it would be 6 days later that they would arrive for delivery. I explained that I would be driving 2 hours to the location to where the washer and dryer were to be delivered. I was told that that would not be a problem as the appliances would be delivered on that on that day. When the day for delivery arrived, I made my journey to meet the delivery truck. After a couple of hours waiting, no delivery so I called and the delivery manager told me that they had changed the date to the following day. They did this without reaching out to state that a change in delivery time was being made. No apology. No offer of some compensation for my hours of driving or expense in gas. They simply did not care. I am a business owner and I would never treat my customers in this manner. Bottom line: poor service and no empathy. read more

Back in Jacksonville I prefer Lowe's over Home Depot when it comes to customer service. However, here in Saint Augustine this Lowes is absolutely terrible when it comes to helpfulness and friendliness. You would not believe the number of times we've asked someone for help and have been told that it's not their department and they'll try to find someone else and yet no one ever returns to assist. They ran out of second chances for redemption when I was told that the plumbing department was the only department that requires a receipt for a return instead of a transaction look up using the form of payment. The only positive, hence the second star, is that it's pretty clean and nicely organized. read more

Arrived at our condo only to find our frig had died! Desperate, we stopped at nearest Lowe's (St. Augustine) to buy new. Salesman quick to sell, very slow to inform us delivery would not occur for a week or more! Told us to call shipping on Monday to plead case! Husband called a few minutes ago; no answer after many rings! WORST customer service ever! Would someone with some knowledge of running a delivery department in a successful national chain please tell Lowe's general manager about the many options a store has to get its merchandise delivered in a timely manner? This has been the worst experience we bought a refrigerator it has had problems since day one. I have done everything I could to get help if you buy the extended warranty they send a technician out to say nothing is wrong. So you get no help they run you around between manufacturer and lowes. So you get no satisfaction or service no one can answer me as to why they would choose to sell defective products,other than they can get away with it. read more

Just finished our Master Bath Remodel. Paul Williams, Lowes St. Aug. plumbing department, was a great help in our getting the plumbing fixtures (most on special order) we needed on a timely basis to provide our installer. Paul went above and beyond the usual big box service to keep us informed of the progress on our order, to intercede with his manager when there were delivery or pricing issues with Delta and other suppliers, and to make sure we obtained the best price. Additionally, Paul also made certain that we received my veteran's discount on the special order items. Knowledgeable and customer service oriented personnel like Paul are hard to find in any business these days, let alone a big box store. We will return to Lowes for our next remodel project because of Paul. read more

I would like to commend the 2 guys that delivered my appliances today. 9/21/17 They went above & beyond their job titles to get my appliances onto my property & inside my house. I live on a private road that dead ends into my property & their delivery truck would not fit down my road. So luckily I have a very nice neighbor who backed his truck up to their delivery truck & they off loaded my appliances onto his truck. My neighbor then drove the appliances to my house & they walked down the road with the dolly. The stove, dishwasher & microwave fit through the doors but the fridge was too big. They then took both doors off the hinges & still had to take the packing off of fridge before they could get it through the doors. They did all of this with smiles, very polite & professional!! They deserve to be recognized for all the hard work they did without damaging either the appliances or the doors/doorways. First of all, the staff are very helpful. However, their inventory/selection is inadequate, and doesn't match their online inventory status. If you go to their website and search for an item, you will be told that they have x amount of these in stock. You can do the same thing on a store terminal. However, you may soon learn that the store doesn't even carry that item. This is a pain, and unacceptable, because you check at home and are told that they have the item in stock, then drive to the store to learn that they never had it in stock. Two employees have told me that this is a big problem there. We have purchased a microwave and a refrigerator there. They don't stock these, so we had to wait for them to be shipped from who knows where. The Lowe's delivery folks were professional, careful, and helpful. read more

Expected a little more from the paint department. Virginia, who was trying to make me a paint sample match with the color sample I gave them, had absolutely no idea what she was doing, was just lazy and incompetent. She couldn't figure out how to make the color match, so she just started spitting out lousy explanations and excuses, like " unfortunately" it is so difficult to match a color in a sample size, and that i need to buy a bigger size, and also they don't recommend doing touch ups and, and instead, I'd need to paint the entire wall (what????), and that's because it's just so so so so hard for her (she was referencing the whole paint department) to make a correct paint sample. Does Virginia even understand the purpose and the concept of samples?? I didn't know how else and in what language to explain to her that I couldn't just keep buying big sizes of paint that weren't the right color and returning them. She just stood there and argued back. I insisted that she makes another sample. But this time I had to tell her to adjust the color manually, and to add a drop of darker color to the original mix, because the sample kept coming out too light (how hard is it to figure that out????) . She was unhappy that I weren't giving up and making her do this extra work, and she definitely showed it, but she still had to do it. The color came out spot on, go figure. I told her that obviously when she puts an effort in actually doing her job, it works out. LOL, she had nothing to say. Needless to say, I am not impressed. I went to Home Depot to see how they would manage. They matched it with no problems and no attitude, so I'll be buying paint there. I will not take my business to Lowe's with that kind of nonsense. read more

Trying to replace a malfunctioning stacked washer and dryer I purchased on July 1st. Lowe's sent their delivery men back to take a look 4-days ago (they don't have a repair service dept), and they agreed I needed a new machine. Haven't heard back so I tried calling this morning to follow-up with the delivery department. Called 4 -times, phone kept ringing and then would disconnect. Dialed again to speak to the main operator and was told they only have one phone and no answering machine. How is this possible? Operator was a bit frustrated and rushed but took my number for a call back. Lowe's should look at hiring a customer service manager and implement a better phone system. read more

I have had a terrible experience ordering from this store. We needed a quick replacement dishwasher after ours broke. Ordered 5/27 over the phone with the store and was never contacted by the store. I had to call numerous times to get updates on the shipment and installation I paid for. The leadtime was changed from 6/8-11/20 to 6/29. On the evening of 6/28/20 I called to try to schedule the installation appointment for the next day and was told that my dishwasher was on the truck being delivered that night and that I needed to call back first thing in the morning to set it up. I called at 8 am on 6/29/20 and was told that the truck still hadn't been unloaded and they would call as soon as it was. I called later that afternoon after no updates and was told that it was now not in stock until 8/3/20. The manager Bill told me that he would call me back the next day when he was able to get an update from GE and that he would have a discount or comparables to offer me. I did not receive a call back from Bill, but another employee called offering me a lesser model. I declined the offer for the lower grade dishwasher and was not offered any other resolution for the miscommunication or inconvenience. I also reached out to corporate Lowe's trying to get it expedited or more answers and they always had a hard time finding my order, so I'm not sure that the St. Augustine store even inputted the order into their system at this point. I am disappointed in the quality of service from this store and Lowe's in general and unfortunately will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

After purchasing a large item at another store and confirming that the item was returnable, when I got home the item was not the right size. I took the morning off of work, and borrowed a truck for the second time to take take it back to the store, when I got to the store I was told that the item could not be returned at all. I pointed out on the receipt that it made no mention of final sale. The item was not damaged or used in anyway. They insisted that it could not be returned. I told them I had no intention of keeping it and that they needed to figure out how they could return it. The CSAs were not rude but seemed lost as to what to do. They called a manager and the manager after listening to half of what was being explained to him cut her off and said that he would not take the item. I asked to speak with the manager. He came out with an attitude. I tried to explain the issue at hand and was met with a flat no. No explanation. Nothing. He said that it wasn't something he could return. "Our systems won't even allow it" he said. This is a truck load of BS. They would need to generate a upc and sku for this item( which they have a 3 ring binder with instructions on how to do so) and return it. Absolutely useless management. I asked him to show me where on my receipt it stated that this item could not be returned and he couldn't. He continually over spoke me to the point that I had to remind him that I was talking and he needed to listen. It is absolute bull that they didn't want to take a hit for a return to their store so bad that they would go to such lengths to chase away customers. Real estate and real estate flipping has been my career for the last 6 years and I have never had a problem like this before. I suppose I will find myself back at Home Depot. Thanks Joe. read more

Attempted to buy a microwave at Lowe's appliance Dept. and talked to a lady named, Deborah, who was very rude, not very helpful and had a customer service skills of a scorpion. I offered her a make/model of a highly rated microwave on multiple web sites and Deborah made light of the fact that 438 reviews wasn't a lot of reviews vs another brand that had over 1,400. She proceeded to tell me after I said 438 reviews was quite a few-she smartly replied, " yes, it is more than 5". After she showed us the other microwave model on the computer(with the over 1,400 reviews) we had to ask if she could show it to us on the floor-WHY? She should have offered! Because the microwave was discounted already Lowes refused to offer the 10% military discount. We also talked to a manager who said she would gladly refund our money-but no discount offered! Lowes changed their policy in January 2020, that basically states: if an item is already discounted then they will not honor the military discount. I returned the microwave immediately, Home Depot honored the military discount and I saved $10.00. It isn't the amount of money I am concerned about as much as the lack of customer service and principle. read more

I purchased winows and installation from Lowes St Augustine on May 4th . It's been the worst experience I've had dealing with any business in my life. September 24th and the job is still not complete . Was told it would take approx 5 wks from the time I paid nearly $4,000.00 . Installers didnt show up till July . The bathroom window wad supposed to be obscure but it was clear . They tried to talk me into putting some plastic film over it . The kitchen window has a broken seal and is like looking through an oil slick . A screen was missing from one of the bdrm windows . Installers missed a whole bunch of areas that needed to be calked and said they'd finish up the next day but never came back . Also never came back to complete inside trim as agreed . It took about 2 wks and several phone calls (mostly unreturned) till they actually ordered the screen and correct bathrm window to be replaced . Since the installers have disappeared I had to hire someone else to install the bathroom window and complete the interior trim . The replacement for the defective kitchen window has been sitting at the Lowes store for a week now but niether Steve the sales rep nor Roger the project mngr have done anything to schedule the installation . Sales mngr Martin said he'd speak to them but didn't want to get involved in their business . No one at this store wants to be accountable . Really seems like "Take the money and run " . read more

Found a color match for my paint on the paper samples they have there. Figured shouldn't be a problem for Virginia to make me a sample of that color, since they carry that brand, and the color should be in the system. I was wrong. Virginia provides me with a paint sample that doesn't match, and spits out a bunch of excuses and explanations how "unfortunately" it's impossible for them to do a perfect match, that their machine doesn't let them, that it's so difficult to do a color match in a sample size, I need to get a bigger size, and blah blah blah, apparently, Virginia doesn't get the concept and the purpose of samples. As in making wrong colors in bigger sizes that customer can't use and would end up returning, would cost the store lots of money, inconvenience the customers, hence, the purpose of samples. It's just a lazy and an incompetent woman who doesn't want to do her job, and would stand there arguing that you are the one who is wrong. I didn't know how else and in what language I could explain to her that she actually can adjust the color manually, and maybe, it would do her good to put some thought and effort into it.....I made her redo the sample, told her how to do it (she wasn't very happy about the extra work), and I finally got a practically perfect match! She had nothing to say, and just walked away, LOL. Needless to say, I was NOT impressed with Virginia's "service" and attitude. I went to Home Depot, they matched the paint with no problems. I made the huge mistake to make a quick trip into Lowes on Friday. I went in to quickly pick up one item and a few bags of mulch. Upon paying, I made sure the only thing I needed to do was drive through their fenced in area out front. I was assured it would be that simple. Upon driving to the closed off mulch entrance, I drove around the the exit and backed into the fenced area. My family and I sat in the car for over 10 minutes. When we finally got out to load our own mulch, an EXTREMELY RUDE Gena approached our car to inform me I was supposed to have the front call to her to let her know I needed help loading. When I explained I had done that already, she said no one called her so next time I needed to make sure someone called her. When she demanded my receipt, I told her I put it in my pocket, since I was preparing to load my own mulch. She became even more upset stating this was my fault. When I reminded her that I did my job by shopping here, it was not my job to make sure someone called her. It was her job to now load my mulch and not give me a hard time. She proceeded to throw her hands up and state "I am walking away from you. I don't have to take this." Nice customer service LOWES. Your rude staff is making your customers do all your employees' jobs. I did tell the female upfront. I certainly did not expect to have to take a bunch of attitude from someone whom never did load my car. I went inside to speak to a manager. The manager was in a meeting. Another assistant manager, Marsha, was on a register and could not be relieved. When I finally got to Christy, another assistant manager, I had been in the store another 10 minutes. As we were speaking, Christy allowed Gena to come up and interrupt our conversation. When I objected to this extremely rude behavior again from Gena, Christy listened with distain to my rant. I asked for the Manager, James Bayer, to contact me WHICH HE HAS NEVER DONE after 3 days. So I guess the horrible customer service starts at the top and goes all the way down. Terrible, horrible, nonexistent customer service. SHAME ON YOU LOWES. FYI I have a meeting tonight with my contractor to have my kitchen and bathrooms replaced. I will make sure he does not purchase anything from Lowes. read more
