Wow, my last review of Hone Depot was 3 years ago. We come to Home Depot so much that we should own stock in it. Today's home improvement has been remodeling the bedroom closet to add shelving. You never know how much you can accumulate as a woman. Ha! Ha! Between Jewelry, makeup and accessories, I've literally need more space. Hubby graciously remodeled our bedroom closet just for me. The entire closet and moved his closet to the 2nd bedroom. He build me extra shelving and storage space for shoes and my purses. We did purchase the closet decor from Home Depot. Hubby added his own touch to make it - Wow just for me. Both selections to choose from where in my price range. When you add all the additional features needed for sturdiness, rods and shelves. It can become a little pricey. But, we pay for what we like. And I live my new closet lay out. We're Home Depot Shoppers for Life! read more

I have to come here a few times per day & they never have anyone to help WITH ANYTHING!!! U just sit for over an hour & someone else from wrong dept has to help. I want to go and get some wood, i went to the wood station asked this man if he could cut it for me , since he was that lumber cutting station and i handed him a sticky note with the measurements and even a little rectangle for a reference , he right off the bat gave me attitude and i felt so uncomfortable, he was an older man so i tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he just kept sighing and rolling his eyes at me, he didn't even cut it right but i felt so uncomfortable that i just paid for it and left, i do not recommend coming here. read more

I bought a washer and dryer and had it delivered. The delivery crew is done be by an outside company not affiliated with Home Depot. At 6:30 in the morning an unmarked truck with two gangbangers pulled up. Tattoos, LONG wide dreadlocks and an attitude to match. "Yuh", "bruh", "we's" was how they spoke. I would never have these people in my neighborhood, let alone my house. And to top it off they installed my washer and dryer backward! Dryer was installed on the left side with a right opening door. I wish I could say this was a great experience but I've been to this location several times and every time it's the same thing. Barely any staff on the floor to help out. The cashiers are not very knowledgeable and seem to have a bit of an attitude. I will say the gentleman that tended to us by cutting wood for us was the only individual that was sweet and helpful. My original goal was to go in there for a bin and an hour later on- I got wood and brackets for the new shelves that I'm putting in the laundry room. A major pro is that the area did seem organized, clean and covid-minded. Loews for me is always a better choice when I can. If you can go there vs here then do it read more

The management and crew helped to retrieve the item immediately from the rafters and were happy to do so. Customer service is atrocious. We wanted to buy a grill and conversion kit and after two trips to customer service asking for assistance in the grill area, no one ever came. Whereas across the street at Lowe's we were greeted immediately when we requested assistance. Guess where we will go the next time we need something for the house!!! read more

Poor Customer Service. We've been searching for months for a new area rug. I learned from an employee at Home Depot a few months ago that I could have any carpet made into an area rug. Really? WOW! I had no idea. We continued our search for a rug, but kept coming back to a carpet we liked at Home Depot. The time is now...we decided to take the plunge and have a carpet made into an area rug. We met Pam in the flooring area and told her what we wanted. I was a little shocked at first by her telling us how expensive it may be and trying to talk us out of it. Odd. But we have looked and knew what we wanted. Then she was honest that she had only completed a special order one other time. OK, now the chatter made sense. We appreciated her honesty and candor. She looked up the directions, etc. on how to order and was confused by some screens on the computer. All this was ok...we understood. We parted ways with our order in the system and she said she wanted to go over our order with Corey (the supervisor) before we paid. She informed us of the day & time she would be talking to him, calling us and then we left. We decided to make a change with the felt backing and wanted to discuss padding anyway, so on the said day of their rendezvous we decided to go to the store so we could all discuss it together or we could at least talk to Corey. When we got there Corey was busy with another customer. No biggie! A few employees asked us if we needed help and one remembered us talking to Pam and informed Corey we were waiting to talk to him. He assured us Corey was the expert and the supervisor of that area and knows all the in's and out's...no problem, it should be worth the wait. In the meantime, Pam showed up and we told her about the change we wanted to the felt and had questions about padding in addition to going over the order with Corey. She said she would grab him when he was done with the customer and had motioned to him as well that we were waiting. We waited patiently on him for a very long time before he was free (maybe 20 minutes to a half hour)...again, no biggie. OK, what do you think Corey (the supervisor and expert) did when he was done with the other customer knowing full well we were waiting on him? Guess! Well, if you guessed that he walked away then you guessed correctly! He just walked down the aisle, then he stopped to ask a random customer if they needed help. What about us? What the heck? Pam asked him to come over. What did he do? He went off with yet another customer. I asked if that person had been waiting forever to talk to him too...I didn't see that other person waiting. Pam said she thought it was a fellow employee (off duty). So, they get special treatment when we've been waiting forever? My excitement of ordering this carpet turned into my feathers getting a little ruffled. He finally blessed us with his presence and you could feel that he simply didn't want to help us. What did we do besides wait patiently and want to order a carpet? He barely acknowledged us. Any question asked to him...he didn't know. This is the supervisor and expert in this area? Wow. One question was about padding that they seemed to be forcing on us with the special order and this supervisor expert didn't know the answer so he had Pam call the company (we are still waiting to hear back, but no longer care if we do). And then what do you think he did even though we had more questions and lots of things needed to be addressed on the order/computer? If you guessed he walked away again...you guessed correctly! At this point...and with perhaps an hour+ spent there that we can't get back...I am convinced the reason he avoided us and kept walking away is because he simply doesn't "know". My opinion/impression, but this is my experience. I told my husband my comfort level on them ordering this thing correctly, getting what we want and the correct size is slim to none...we like this carpet, but we need to walk away before it cost us big time with no way to return this colossal mistake on their behalf. I really liked that carpet, but it's simply not worth it when you don't know what you're going to get and you don't have a proper person that can answer questions and do the task at hand. I do commend Pam for being honest about her lack of experience up front. My husband put it best...They just aren't carpet people! But overall, they could have saved us ALL a lot of time upfront if they just simply told us they didn't know how to order it, what they were doing, had no knowledge, no experience, didn't want to do it, etc. or whatever the case may be. I stated in my last review that his place was frustrating. I always have my fair share of "things" that happen in here, but this one was incredible. The blessing in all this is that we walked away before payment...whew! Stick to simple things when shopping here! I sure hope to raise my stars one day! read more

I visited the Saint Augustine Home Depot on a Saturday about 1 o'clock in the afternoon. I gathered what I needed and went to the contractor desk to do a phone charge for my company. The cashier was quite unhelpful and rude and didn't know how to help me. She flat out said that the contractor area closes at 3 o'clock for phone charges. Again it was 1 o'clock in the afternoon. She said she couldn't help me. Every time I have gone into the store, I can never find anyone knowledgeable to help me. The staff is always rude and they act like I am putting them out. Unfortunately it is the only Home Depot in my area. This store has the worst customer service of any establishment I've ever been in. I know Home Depot is not exactly known for their customer service, but this store takes it to a whole other level! I really hope corporate and the store manager see this review! read more

Just about the worst customer service ever. I was on the phone over 40 min trying to find out if a simple item is in stock before I drive a long distance to pick it up. They transferred me over 10 times, dropped my call once, kept me on long holds, and ultimately said they had 3 units in stock. I drove nearly 2 hours to get my portable AC and arrived to find none in stock. Oh, but I can order one online and have it in a week or more. The gentleman in appliances was so sweet and apologetic. The hyena at the customer service desk just gave a big song and dance about crappy store policy. Never again. Customer service couldn't be worse. Went in looking for compatible attachments to my newly purchased Troy bilt weed eater. Everything I researched online said all compatible attachments are sold at Home Depot. Not to mention I tried Lowes just for the short drive and they also said Home Depot sells all compatible attachments. So, upon arriving to Home Depot I walked to the associated isle to find 5 employees having a casual conversation and then when I walked up they acted like they didn't want to be bothered and either walked off or turned their back and continued the conversation. The one that tried to slide past me without saying anything is the one I asked for help in which he replied we don't sell that here and nothing we have is compatible with your Troy built. After he promptly walked off I simply looked at the isle with attachments and right on the box it said compatible with exactly what I needed, along with about every other attachment imaginable. I am still utterly shocked that this company has not managed to go bankrupt due to inept workers, terrible management, and a complete disregard for customer service. It is blatantly obvious to all who shop Home Depot stores that the only thing this company drives for is sales numbers, and not taking care of the customer or taking care of their employees. This Home Depot is no different from any other across the country. They do offer an unbelievable selection of home improvement items- lumber, building materials, appliances, tools, grills, gardening, anything you could want. Anything they don't have in stock, you can order online or check other local stores. The prices, of course, are better than most hardware stores in the St. Augustine area, because they buy in bulk and save a lot more... If you know what you're looking for, and are willing to buy everything yourself, Home Depot is a great place to shop. If you have any questions or are not familiar with the layout of these stores, for the love of GOD, take yourself to a Lowe's. The Home Depot does not hire professionals, just people looking for a job, and they give them computer based training on whatever area they will be working in. Odds are, if you have a question about a product or installation, you will be talking to someone completely unqualified who has no idea what they're talking about. Home Depot also does not hire enough employees to cover the entire store at any given time (Less qualified employees, and less employees overall = more money in the company's pocket, TERRIBLE customer service.) The few times I have been in this store, there was only one employee to cover numerous areas of the store. The majority of customers looking for help become angry and impatient and there is a lot of surly attitude just hovering inside these stores. I'm not generalizing about ALL Home Depot employees and stores, just the majority. Ask anyone who's ever worked at a Home Depot and they will tell you it was the worst job they've ever had. When employees HATE the job they're working, they will never go above and beyond to take care of the customers shopping there. Overall, if you want to save a ton of money and know everything you're doing step by step, Home Depot would be a good stop... For everyone else, and for someone like me who appreciates good customer service and great prices, I make the trek to a local Lowe's... I GLADLY spend the extra time and gas money to give my business to a company who deserves it. Home Depot SUCKS! read more

Appliance Buyer Beware.......ordered a high-end washer and dryer set, including pedestals on 2/28/20. Was given a delivery date of 3/14/20. This morning I go on line and to check what time it will be delivered and find my delivery date was changed to 3/21/20!!! That's 3 WEEKS to deliver a washer and dryer. Went to St Augustine Home Depot to speak to someone in person.....was told it's delayed due to it being back ordered. Home Depot said they have no way of knowing if an item is backordered!!! What?! I would have ordered something else or went somewhere else if I had known it was back ordered. Never Never Never buy an appliance at Home Depot. Worst customer self ever! read more

I could which was great because it made it more convenient. Plus it is a great way to help him socialize. Walking around the store that were so many people availed to help you. So many times o go into a store and am just lost in the massiveness of the store. Thankfully there were people who could not only lead me to what I was looking for but also give feedback on products for the projects I was doing. If you are raising Monarch butterflies, DO NOT BUY MILKWEED FROM HOME DEPOT! The employees will tell you it is pesticide free. BUT IT IS NOT!!! The Monarchs love it and will lay eggs. But after the eggs hatch and the caterpillars start munching, THEY WILL DIE!!! I harvested 31 cats to bring in and raise for release. By the next morning, 14 were dead. I ended up going there as a last resort, as my milkweed crop was diminished to nothing, after my last release of 18 Monarchs. All the local nurseries around us were out, of milkweed. And that is how I ended up at Home Depot! If the cats were in the 5th instar, I could finish raising them on pumpkin (not available in August), organic cukes, or organic zucchini. I broadened my nursery search, and found Maggie's Herb Farm, on C.R 13 along the ST. Johns river. They had what I needed, ORGANIC MILKWEED. This store's phone service is AWFUL!! I called about renting a pressure washer, the person who answered couldn't help me and either put me hold or transferred me to which I was put on hold. Did you know if you are put on hold that your max waiting time is 20 minutes and then their system hangs up on you? Well it does! Talk about rude! So I called right back and was put on hold AGAIN! Guess what happened? You got it after ANOTHER 20 minutes, their system hung up on me! Really! Total of 40 minutes on hold and absolutely no one could pick up the phone?? Oh wait, a guy did pick up for one second but then put me on hold after I said hello. Really dude?!? Are you kidding me!!?!? He couldn't even say anything! Well I consider myself a pretty patient person so thought I try again. Called them and didn't even get a chance to tell the dude who answered the phone my issue before he transferred me and again found myself on hold again!! After 10 minutes I just hung up. First, I couldn't take their horrible hold announcements, second, I was tired of the recorded voice telling me how important my call is to them (total joke! Lol), third, my husband told me to hang up because Sam's Club answers their phones and is going there to buy one. Ok, I get it! I've worked retail before and sometimes you get busy, but really 50 MINUTE HOLD TIME is RIDICULOUS!! To make matters worse their stupid phone system hangs up after 20 minutes! Does this store not know customer service? Do they only have 1 employee that can answer their phone? Do they realize he sucks at it?!? PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND NEVER CALL THIS STORE! This is my Home Depot. And I am a regular customer. And since buying a house, I've spent a lot of time and money there. However!!! There's a really loud yet strangely distracted orange-smock there who is ALWAYS there when I'm there. He doesn't pay attention sometimes and misses some critical points to your description of your fix-it problem, but he's good people. Frankly, they're the only game in town, except for my overpriced Ace Hardware, but I can get cheap paint, patio furniture covers and ant-repellent there. And, some of the cashiers recognize me there and go out of their way to let me know it. So go there if you need to fix something yourself, and like to feel appreciated. read more

Had to wait 45 min for them to get it down from shelf after we did our own tesearch and searched floor. No one there has any sense of urgency or helpfulness. Thanks Home Depot, we went in and bought a new range and microwave on November 18, 2016. We were informed it was backordered and would not be delivered until November 28. I received the reminder call the day before, and I had made arrangements to clear my day since I did not know what time they were coming. When they arrived I was told that only the microwave was on the truck, no range. They could not give me any other information. So I called customer service, and they told me that it was back ordered until December 27....Then they offered a comparable model, but the only thing available either did not match our other appliances, or was more money and I would have to pay another couple hundred dollars for the difference!!! OK, so I'm pissed, I was backed into a corner by the customer service department and told I could do whichever I wanted. There was no way to look at the comparable item because the store didn't have it, and they said all appliances were non returnable so if it didn't match or I didn't like it, too bad.... So I say to you Home Depot, this has happened to me before at several different stores. I am going to wait for another month and take delivery of what I originally ordered, and you may rest assured that you have lost me as a regular customer....Right before I was getting ready to build a new home....Just send my range.....You will get nothing more from me. UPDATE, December 28, 2016.....Well wouldn't you know it, December 27th came and went, the HD customer care center told me I would be called that day (yesterday) to set up a delivery time for today. Well I had to call them, and they finally called me back to tell me that it was in the warehouse but they couldn't deliver until next week. I chose Home Depot for two products that also needed installation. Although the associates who eventually helped me were friendly & knowledgable, good luck in finding them. My major problem has been with department that coordinates the installations. Right now, Home Depot has my new storm door and my money, but I cannot get anyone to answer the phone or respond to voice mail messages concerning installation. For the other installation, the contact with the installer was excellent, but again I had to spend a huge amount of time trying to contact Home Depot to schedule the delivery of the materials, when they should have contacted me. Next time I will definitely use a local contractor. read more

traffic is horrible trying to get in due to chick fil a traffic. was backed to us 1 and i have to wait almost 10 min for traffic to move. the traffic heading south on us 1 turning in waited longer than i did - then people were going to the right of the cars and almost blocking steak n shake. parking bad - not sure why - went in - no one hardly had masks - especially the employees. surprised how many customers did not have them either. cashier was great, scanned what i could not lift and the drive under pick up was great loading for me read more
