    My dog helping me choose pots for the tomato plants

    Stopped by with my dog while we kill time before her training class and so she's doing errands with me. We came to the garden center so we can get some larger pots for my tomato plants. I love that I was able to bring her into the garden center and do some training with her in the aisles around all the noise of the carts and the tingling of the wind chimes. There were so many people and everyone was friendly including staff. I found some pots that will work for my tomato plants and then I got in line, there were only 2 people ahead of me but it took forever for them to get rung up and the line was getting very long behind me. Everyone was sighing including my dog but it was a good practice in patience for my dog. When I finally paid it went fast for me to be rung up so I'm not sure why it was so slow before me. Overall a very good experience. All the plants look really nice and healthy here as well I would come again for more plants if I'm in the area!

    Lowes is a good Home Improvement store. Today I came in to get some herbs and pepper plants. Besides tomatoes, they had a small selection. Unfortunately, I had to go to the other spot (HD) which had a very large selection, and I was able to get what I was looking for.

    Wasn't making any progress on the phone after generating a quote online. Decided to walk into a Lowes location. I received excellent customer service from Valentin. He answered all my questions regarding shipping and items out of stock. He helped me with some options that I was satisfied with. He gave me his contact info if I have any issues in the future.

    Worst Experience at Lowe's - Misleading and Rude Service I bought a drill and impact combo with a 2-year warranty from the Lowe's app for $116.65. The next day my order was canceled without explanation. I went to the store, saw the same item on the shelf, but the app said "not available." The manager was rude, aggressive, and refused to honor the online price -- telling me to pay the full $152.55. Customer service on the phone was careless and even gave false info. Feels like fake advertising and dishonest business. I'm very disappointed with Lowe's and won't shop there again.

    Service lets start there we walked looking for deadbolts. asked one employee where they would be she couldn't tell me and walked away then I found them couldn't find what I was looking for found another employee asked them if they have a deadbolt kit, she points down to an aisle and mumbled door knobs and walked away real fast. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place parking there is a lot if you want to bump door to door with your cars. Environment very stressful.

    Language supporting the salespeople' claim that they would deliver and set it up and test it in my house without me needing to do anything

    Don't buy appliances from this store, the salespeople make promises the delivery people can't keep My refrigerator died, so I bought a new one from this store, it's the same size as the old one. I remembered the delivery people who delivered the one that died had to remove doors from the frig and my house to get it in the house. I explained that to the salesperson and they told me the delivery people would do everything, including removing and replacing the doors, installing and testing the refrigerator and new icemaker I also ordered. I'm an old Sr. Citizen so I needed to buy it from a place that could because I'm too old to do it myself. I showed the salespeople pictures so they could see the doors and gave them the measurements with and without the doors off the hinges. When the new frig was delivered the delivery people told me they aren't allowed to remove and replace doors, or hook up the water to ice maker even though the old one had an ice maker and all they would have to do is move the line from the old to the new refrigerator. They told me they could leave the new frig in the driveway or take it back. They agreed to wait and put it in the house, if I removed the doors, and I did, which was very painful and dangerous for me to do. I also had to hook the water line up to the new refrigerator, and almost couldn't stand up afterwards because there was nothing to use to help me get up. I was sore as heck the next day. When they left we discovered there were hole covers they forgot to install, like one in the front door where the handle would screw down if it was mounted to open the other way. Lowe's says they don't have or sell them so we will need to call the factory. I don't blame the delivery people; I blame the salespeople who assured me I'd not have a problem. The only thing they told me that was true was that they sold me a refrigerator that would be delivered to my house. If you are too old to do things like hook up the water, don't buy any appliance from Lowe's The delivery people also told me the GE refrigerator I bought was going to need repairs frequently. They said they are not reliable like my old one. I wish I'd talked to them before going to the store. I didn't ask, they volunteered that sad news without prompting.

    They pick up the phone and hung up without even talking. I had an issue with a product I bought but they don't answer the phone.

The man on the phone told me he did, so I got there in time to buy it. When I got there, he opened the package further (as it was already opened) to compare the two- and he said it would work. It didn't. I went back to the store and told the owner that the one he sold me was incorrect. When I asked for a refund, he stated that "there was a part missing from the top." It was not missing anything. The model he sold me was slightly smaller in length and was the incorrect part number according to Lowe's (which did sell me the correct part). I told him it wasn't missing any parts, but he called me a liar. He saw the item was new and unused, proving him wrong. When that didn't work, he said he won't refund it because the package was opened. It was... by him. I watched him open it. He called me a liar again. I went to my bank and disputed the charges- and was told I'd be issued a refund, and Granada Hills Hardware will have the charges reversed. Nobody likes to be called a liar. It could've been real easy, but your pride got in the way when you didn't like to be proven wrong. Now, I get to keep the cartridge, and a refund of $59.12 through my bank... and you get to keep a 1 star yelp review. Was it worth it?

Well structured and offering a full selection of DIY and home and garden goods. They are not as builder/contractor oriented as say Home Depot or Lowes, but great for everyday needs. One great thing is that they are never busy. It is easy to get in and out quickly. Main reasons that I could see for the lack of crowds compared to other hardware superstores is the low turnout of contractors and the higher prices (discussed further down). Service 3 stars: I have always found this aspect of Ace Hardware hard to rate. Sometimes you walk in and there are smiling faces everywhere, greeting you and asking you if you need any help. Other times you will not find anyone to assist you and keep wandering the aisles. Overall service is better than Home Depot or Lowes but it could also be much better! Merchandise 3.5 stars: Again not as elaborate as Home Depot or Lowes, but good enough for a neighborhood hardware superstore when you need something quick. Convenience 4.5 stars: For me, they are the closest hardware superstore, about a mile away. Next closest are Lowes in Northridge (4.5 miles) and Home Depot in Canoga Park (7.5 miles). Not having to fight traffic, compete for parking spots, parking next to huge work trucks and getting dinged by them or the lumber carts, and not paying extra for gas is worth it, especially when I need something in a jiffy. Prices 2 stars: Generally much higher than Home Depot or Lowes. In one instance, a part that was $10.99 at Lowes, Home Depot AND Amazon, was $13.99 at Ace. This is 27% higher! Now every price may not be this much higher but as a general rule always expect to pay more for the convenience. The Bottom Line 4 stars: Convenience and lack of crowds wins it for me!

The good thing about this location, it's not far. An easy trip, plenty of parking which is a major plus anywhere you go these days. As we get older, in my case. I have no need in looking for parking anymore. I'm all about going somewhere that I know it's easy to maneuver and park. This location, plenty. Pretty much all of them have good parking, well in the valley. Plus the service has also been amazing each and every time. They basically know you lately. Plus the little joke of, we'll see you tomorrow....LoL... This visit, I needed to pick up new socket and whatever the plug things are called as well as a new light fixture. Clearly this is not my department. The selection was great. Loads of things to choose from. Even bringing in what I already had and trying to find something similar, there was a good amount to choose from. With all different types. Light fixtures, they have a good selection but limited to what I was looking for. Something simple and small. Mange to find something but what I did like, they ran out. Service was great in the fixture department. The employee that helped us with our questions was excellent. She even gave us some suggestions and advices on what to use. Customer service like that is what brings us back to this place. Of course grabbing what we need, but let me probably say. I'll be back again, I pretty sure. Also layout is pretty explanatory. It's all marked with the banner down each isle. If there's something you need, there's plenty of staff on hand to help.

First person who I spoke with told me the item was not in stock and when I asked her if any other stores had it in stock she immediately said no, it only shows one available. I asked her where that one was and she said "what do you mean?"....I said-you told me that it shows there is one available-I want to buy it, where is it? She said oh you can't buy it, it is a display. Ok.... So I then ask her how long it would take to get one if I order it? her reply was "What do you mean" Me - I am not sure how to rephrase that-your item is out of stock, I want to order one. She told me that they do not take orders... So I ask-so your company is advertising a product that is not in stock in your store, or any other store and I cannot order it-she said yes. So I asked to speam with a supervisor-perhaps that person can help me figure out how to purchase the item they are advertising. After 5 minutes on hold, another person comes on line, and after going through all the same information, he also tells me there are "not any available within at least a 100 mile radius", I ask if he can perhaps suggest a comparable pump? While still on the phone with him, I go back to the website hoping he will offer a suggestion, and the link for the pump I called about shows that it is in stock 5 miles away and ask him why it is showing they have them if there aren't any in a "100 mile radius" he says "let me check....uhhh oh...yes they show that there are 3 in stock". Are you kidding me?? So apparently BOTH of these people were too lazy to actually check and see if there any in stock anywhere else? They need to do some serious customer service training here-these associates do NOT care about customers or sales.
