I was shopping for a house plant for a friend and the first place I thought of was Lowes. They always have such beautiful flowers and plants so I naturally wanted to try them first. They met my expectation instantly because I was thinking of a snake plant since theyre so easy to care for and hard to kill. WORSE STORE EVER! Purchased a dishwasher with Installation from Middletown, NY Lowes. On the day of installation, the driver has truck issues (it happens). By the time we rescheduled installation, it was with another installer. The new installer arrived at the store to pick up the dishwasher and it is no longer there. I have been fighting for 2 months now to get a refund on this dishwasher that clearly someone in the store or installation team stole. They even called me on Friday and accused me of picking it up. They said they had me on video picking it up. Wonder how they know what I look like. The website has a status of "Picked up by installer" yet I am blamed for taking it. We called multiple times and were told it hadn't been received. There were multiple times we called only to wait 20 minutes on hold and never reaching an associate. I was literally told by customer service there are no scan codes on the boxes and that the associate had to open each box to see if it was ours. Service is terrible here! As a former Lowe's employee I understand that we may be understaffed and overwhelmed at times, but I will never be able to get behind disrespectful employees. I came to get a lawnmower today, and my box wasn't sealed at all, so the whole thing fell onto the ground, decided to grab an employee and couldn't find anybody.. I approached a woman near the spray paint and asked if she could help, she brought me over to a man who seemed to be stationed in the entire lawn care area. Upon asking him to service me after whatever he was already doing, he rolled his eyes at me sighed and said "sure I guess but it's going to be a few minutes" with an attitude that suggested he was just too busy to assist me. I stood near him without help for 15 minutes before he summoned a young girl to come assist me with reboxing the lawnmower that had just spilled. Mind you I'm also a young woman; so this isn't really a job for the two of us, and when I requested assistance, even the woman I asked initially knew it was help from a man I was looking for. At this point I'm pissed and looking for him to get his name tag, I do the rest of my shopping and go to checking it at customer service, where he is standing. And as soon as I approach he leaves, not necessarily surprised. If they had the lawnmower at Home Depot around the corner I would've left the mess and gone there. read more

I went to Lowe's today to get some hay for grass seeding and after I checked out I saw they had a key making machine. I remembered I need two copies of keys so I started the key making process. I realized that the machine only accepted exact change. The keys were $4 each so I needed a 5 and 5 singles or ten singles. I only had a ten. I asked the cashier for change and she said she couldn't unless there was a transaction. I rolled my eyes a bit, but since I was there and needed the keys copied I just went to the key section of their store where an employee makes the duplicate key. I waited for about 10 minutes trying to hail down an employee but there were none around. So I went up to an empty register and asked for help. The kid reacted like I asked him the square root of 1,321. He literally looked around (which there was nobody else around) and said someone will be there soon. I went back to the key making area and waited..and waited. Nobody came. So I walked to the other side of the store to the customer service area. There were no customers and a single employee who was on her cell phone. I waited approximately 2 minutes before she acknowledged I was there. Then took another 2 minutes to wrap up her call. I heard her conversation and it was not work related. I asked if I could get some singles and a five and she pulled out her phone and started dialing while she said, "I have no key..sorry". Then she stepped into a back area to complete her call. I remember seeing on Tik Tok a video of somebody at a Lowes waking out with power tool without paying for them. At the time I remember feeling outraged and wanted to see that person brought to justice. Now, I completely relate to the guy. He probably tried buying it and was not able to. I finally had a sales person tell me it was never ordered and they would not be order that particular one for restock. Horrific appliance buying experience. Went in on Veterans Day to buy a replacement stackable washer/dryer. Told the sales rep they would stacked and we would require installation . After having not find out that lowes forgot to place the order properly for instal we had an Initial delay of 3 weeks then to find out on the day of installation that the sales rep failed to add the stacking kit to the order.. so now 2-3 more weeks without a washer/dryer.. first and last big purchase from this place.. I will make the drive to Sears as I have used for decades ...... on a good note the installer team was wonderful and very professional.. the sales reps can learn something from them.... I will also make it a point to inform all my fellow union members of this poor service.... read more

Special ordered an item and had it shipped to the store. First time I tried to pick it up, no one ever came to the desk. I pushed the service call button, and after transmitting over the loud speaker for a few minutes, an associate came over, turned it off, and walked away. No one ever came. I bought a Samsung over a year ago with the protection plan. My display stopped working in February 2023, I started a claim, they sent out 1 company who came in and started replacing parts and got my display to work, but now some of my buttons don't work. When I told them about it the company said they were gonna order a new unit. Instead they told lowes either repair was complete and closed out the claim, I called lowes to find out what's going on and all they did was schedule me with another company who never showed up. I called lowes to let them know what's going on and they put me on hold for over 20 mins to only hang up on me. When I called back they said they were gonna contact the repair company and never called me back. Here it is almost 3 months and my unit is still inop. Today Lowe's took very good care of me. I purchased a door and a window. The customer service took 10 percent off the door because of the scratches on it. That was nice of them. The window was a good buy as well. I am telling you. This Lowe's is my favorite place to go. I purchased a new refrigerator feom there about two months ago. Save your self. I ordered a fridge online and this store delivered the fridge. Guys came in and DROPPED the fridge on my stairs (now I have property damage) and then they damaged the fridge itself. I cannot think of a business with worse customer service than this particular store. My husband and i got a quote for carpet install back in AUGUST...picked a color and thought we were set. No one ever contacted us about an appointment...had to reach out to someone in NC to just to assist because after calling and visiting the store at least 3x a week..no one ever has any answers as to why we still dont have our carpet. They advertise free installation but we were charged $3,000 for two bedrooms and still have no carpet. Each time i call the store i am either put on hold or transferred so many times i end up on a dead line. Every manager puts me on hold and never returns to the line. I ordered $800.00 worth of wood pellets this past week and was given a delivery date of 9/23/18 at the time of purchase. I waited around all day with not a word from their delivery service until nearly 6:30 PM and got a call from a robot that told me my delivery would be 9/24/18. I had specifically told the CSA as well as the ASM that It had to be by 9/23/18 then as I am out of town for the week, starting 9/24/8... No idea what they are going to do with 3 tons of wood pellets but there will won't be anyone here to accept or sign for them .. if they disappear or are damage by rain I will not pay a dime for them and will file a credit card dispute immediately. I would give zero stars if I could. Never buy anything from this or any other Lowe's that has their installer do the job. One example. I bought top dollar best of the best carpet put in by them. In just over 1 year it was buckling and clumping up all over. I went in and they told me the install work is not covered under warranty. I called the manufacture because it's going to crack at those points eventually. The manufacturer said they warranty is void because of a bad install. Had another respectable carpet installer look at it and because it was done they way it was, it's not fixable. If stretched out a bit the cuts by stairs and room openings will not line up. Thanks Lowe's, you cost me big. I will not use your stores and warn everyone that will listen. Reporting you to BBB and everywhere else I can! So understand this clearly. They sell a product, have a garbage installer that they subcontract the work to put it in. Then your the one who eats the bill for entirely new carpet. Disappointed with workers Lowe's of Middletown sent to my house to install a new roofs. I contracted with Lowe's for a new roof. I had been getting estimates for the job with both a complete tear off and a layer over the single layer I had. Lowe's price for a tear off was similar to prices I was getting for a second layer and decided to use them for the job. The person that delivered the supplies was very professional and I was sure I had made a good choice. Monday morning the crew arrived and their van did not have the name of the company Lowe's told me was going to do the job. The person introduced himself and said they were short handed and the one day job would take two. 15 minutes later a man arrived from the company Lowe's told me to expect. I researched the company I was told would be doing the job and they had good reviews. I was not told that the company could then subcontract the job. John the man form the company I though was doing the job was very nice and seemed professional. They did the tear off and then John left that is when things went bad. It got very quiet and there were no cars in the driveway so I went out to get the garbage can and bring it up to the house. That is when I saw we had two workers napping in the driveway. Work stopped for over 2 hours while the other workers were gone and the 2 took a nap. A van came back with 2 workers and they did some clean up laid the ice the shield and felt. John never returned and after working an hour the men left for the day. After my husband came home he found a nail in the driveway where he parks. We were worried about his tires and started looking. We spent an hour picking up nails all over our driveway. It is a miracle one did not get in his tire. I called to complain to the salesman who sold us the roof and he acted like I was crazy to be concerned. He told me that John told him all the guys were sick. They had been throwing up in the woods. He made an off color joke that it was Monday and maybe they partied to hard over the weekend. He told me it would go better the second day. I felt my concerns where blown off. My husband then called and got the same story they were sick and it was no big deal that the driveway was littered with nails they would do better today . I think if your crew is that sick either they needed to go home and not do my roof in that condition or they needed John to stay and supervise. The second day was stressful because myself and my husband had complained and the tension was high. I personally did not feel good about the judgement of letting them do my roof when sick. Because we complained John stayed all day and videoed them cleaning up. The roof looks good but has spots that concern me and I am going to be worried until we have a few good rains. I attached a photo to this review of the nails that came from my husbands parking spot and of an area of the roof that does not look right to me. I am not a roofer but something looks wrong. I also attach a photo of the deck after the tear off. The tarp to catch the trash was not positioned well and much of the trash was scattered every where. That is how the front was also done and why my gravel driveway is full of nails. After they were gone we found out the pipe that vents bathroom gasses out of the house is no longer connected. There are seven holes in the roof that instead of replacing boards they paper and shingled over. We were so excited about a new roof and that joy got over shadowed by stress. Lowe's told us how qualified their roofers were but not that the qualified roofer can hire less qualifies people to do the job. I have spent in total over 2 hours picking up nails. My deck and front concrete have tar on them. Anyone can get sick but it is how you handle it when it happens. Leaving the sick workers at my house to sleep it off in the driveway was not the way to go. I question everything they did to my roof in that condition. I want to be happy having a new roof but I am just not sure if it will leak. read more

I bought an electric corded lawn mower at the Middletown, NY store on a Saturday. I left it there for assembly. I was told the assembly person comes to the store on Monday and Tuesday. when I called the store Monday night I had to call 3 times and wait 20 minutes for someone to pick up. I was told it would be ready Wednesday. When I went Thursday evening to get it I was told it was not put together and the person who did the. work was in the hospital. I cancelled the order. The store never called or emailed to tell me anything. The customer service only said have a nice day when I left. When I called corporate the next day all they did was take the complaint and put it in the system. I had never shopped in the store before and never will. I went to Home Depot, bought a similar lawn mower online with customer services help. The next day i got an email telling me when it wii arrive in the store, which was 3 days after I bought it. The same day it was put together and able to be picked up. I got an email from them saying it was ready for pickup. Much happier with their service. Home Depot knows how to treat their customer's. If I could leave zero stars I would. Lowe's should stand for low expectations. My husband was checking out with my dad in a self checkout line. They were obviously together. They realized they didn't have a price for some blocks from the garden section. They asked the employee looking over that area for help and she said she didn't know the price either. So my husband went back to the garden area to get the price. There were several checkout kiosks open, it was a slow day. So while my husband is away the card reader starts beeping because he left his card in it. The employee grabs my husbands card and refuses to give it back to my dad. My dad explains it belongs to my husband who she just met and went back to get the price. She refused and explained she cannot release the card until someone proves ID. Excuse me??? So she has the card in her hands and is on this power trip. My husband comes back and says it's his. Obviously. She makes him pull ID out. While he is doing this she ushers the next person who walks up to check out towards the station my husband and dad are using. Bear in mind all of the stations are open except theirs as they are checking out. She makes my husband step aside like he is a criminal and makes a big scene. The next person used the same kiosk my husband has just been standing at and low and behold since it had already taken his credit card all of that persons stuff was charged to our card. What a mess. Since then we try to avoid Lowes at all costs. So today we came to the store for on online purchase that would be brought out to us curbside. We parked and called and called and called. We tried 3 different times to call and it just rang endlessly. So my husband put on a mask and went inside thinking they must just be low on help that day. There were literally 4 employees working near the pickup desk when he walked in. They were laughing and playing and completely ignored him as he stood there waiting for help. I went to Michael's Appliances first before even entertaining buying a new refrigerator from Lowe's. They couldn't accommodate me or even come close to the pricing. I did a lot of research first before buying my new French Door fridge. The gal in the Lowe's in Middletown was stupendous. She had my measurements and budget then went from aisle to aisle with me shopping for my new fridge. They gave me six months no-interest financing PLUS 10% veteran discount - saving me nearly $200 with no delivery charge. The men that set it up said I didn't have right hardware to set up the new water/ice make but instead of making me buy it and put it in myself - THEY TOOK AN EXTRA HOUR AND DID IT FOR ME AT NO CHARGE. I tipped them $25 because they were THAT good. They don't always have the best service but in this experience - they were fabulous. Worst customer service experience yesterday afternoon, 10/7/18! I approached the customer service desk and found a customer seated waiting at an unattended register. On the opposite side of the desk at the Returns register, a lone employee attended a customer. As I waited, another customer got in line behind the customer he was attending. If he was manning the Service desk alone, I'd have thought he'd redirect her to the line forming behind me and the customer seated at the man Customer service register, but instead, he allowed 2 lines to form. I wondered if perhaps another employee might have been working the other customer service register -perhaps had just stepped away. .., so I asked if he was working both registers, if perhaps there was just 1 line, but before I could articulate my question, it was as if he was waiting for the situation to escalate for him to immediately get verbally abusive with the first customer who dared ask him a question ... And he did this to me in front of my 7 year old child, scolded me and told me to wait my turn.., yet I wasn't asking for my turn, I was asking if he was working both registers or not and he scolded me and said that taking the time to talk to me had now slowed him down and that he would be with me in turn and told me not to roll my eyes... ?! Not me! I am ordinarily an extremely polite person, I usually make friends with cashiers and customers on lines! Simetimes my husband will ask if I know the cashier or customer because of our friendliness, that's just how I am, a "you get more bees with honey" type of person, so I KNOW this guy was allowing the situation at the service desk to escalate on purpose to give himself the opportunity to go off sarcastically on someone publically. I'm usually friendly, never outwardly sarcastic, just wasn't raised like that. He obviously allowed it to escalate with two lines...just to give him the venue to verbally and publicly and sarcastically humiliate someone... that just happened to be me. He totally left me speechless. My daughter said later that she was afraid he was going to use the F-word at me ...! For a 7 year old to realize that someone was verbally humiliating her mother to the extent that she was afraid he was going to curse shows you HOW sarcastic he got. If there was a manager around, I would have asked them why they didn't have any assistance for him... Lowe's management needs to UNDERCOVER BOSS this guy. He was looking for an opportunity to be dramatic in public, and letting him run the service desk is allowing him to RUIN their service sesk. When he did come to my register, he really flared at me, but I told him it was NOT my turn: the seated customer was there before me, I was just asking a question, wasn't asking for my turn...when it was my turn, I showed him the item I wanted on my phone (on lowes.com), and he just said "give it to me" not, "may I have your phone?" ... like I said, he's going to ruin their service desk if they allow him to run it. When I walked into Lowe's in Middletown NY, I was very impressed by the store. Employees were friendly and helpful. That's where it ended. After ordering shower doors (to be delivered) and a dishwasher (to be installed and brought by the installer) it just went downhill at a very fast speed. I was notified that delivery was to be on Wednesday May 30th,truck broke down and no notification, delivery then on Thursday May 31st no delivery and no notification and by the way the doors never left Lowe's store. Ok now June 1st, guess what again no delivery what a surprise. After being promised again that delivery would be June 4th (I wasn't holding my breath) the doors arrived at the wrong address. The truck was sent around the corner to deliver the doors but to everyone's surprise they brought the dishwasher and refused to bring it to the correct address. I can't count how many people I have spoken to since May 30th about this screw-up. I was promised the world and received nothing but a headache. I will never go to Lowe's again and will never recommend any of my family and friends go there. Absolutely the worst....Customer service is non-existent . Ordered shades to be installed. The guy who had previously taken the measurements was not accurate. Shades didn't fit. Pull chain shades, housing on one of them was broken. They also measured incorrectly on the porch area. Installer could not complete job and told us that someone would contact us right away.I waited,2 days no call. I also called there DEDICATED installation number twice. They could not get a response from the store and said they would send them an email. Finally went to the store and a nice woman named Zaida tried to get in touch with the installer and also called LEVOLOR company .. NO RESPONSE...To make a long story longer, I went home and packed up all the shades and returned them to the store and got my money refunded.NOBODY ever reached out or contacted me from customer service. No one picks up the phone. The customer service is horrible. The staff is not helpful.

This Lowes has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We purchased our appliances through them and spent tons of money just to have them mess up the delivery date four times. Not only did they mess up the delivery date, when they appliances finally arrived (washer/dryer) they did not have all of the parts to hook them up even though we had purchased those parts over a month in advance. XPO, the third party delivery company they use were also no help when they finally got the washer and dryer delivered. The drain hose would not fit. Instead of fixing it they gave up and left the house. When you ask them why parts are not delivered they blame Lowes. Then when you talk to Lowes they bad mouth XPO and blame them. Terrible partnership between the two companies that obviously do not have the simple skill of communication down between them. Would never recommend using Lowes for any major appliances. read more
