Shocking to me that Home Hardware only has 30 reviews (as of this date). I guess I'm a culprit because I have been going here for several years and this is my first time for feedback! I'll say the major plus of Home Hardware is the staff and how knowledgeable they are. I was finally getting to clearing out my basement for finishing it and had to remove a sink, washer and dryer. This meant closing and sealing the gas pipe as well as four water supply lines. Silly me, I went in not having measured anything, hadn't disconnected anything yet, etc. And the gentleman behind the counter walked me throughout the store to find everything I needed, based in his experience, and provided some great recommendations. It was one trip and I had the hardware and knowledge I needed to take on some serious housework. Really grateful to have them in the community. read more

Stopped in for a couple of items. Was met by the usual friendly and helpful greeting. But then I noticed a he store has been renovated first floor and the new downstairs. The store looks awesome! Great job! Gonna stop in more often! read more

Had to get a copy of a key made....great service and very friendly staff. Also bought a delightful pumpkin!

Great local business. Stopped in to order a snowblower. Arrived when they said it would. Assembled, delivered and dropped off my old one at my daughter's home. Courteous staff from in store to delivery. A pleasure to shop there. Definitely earned a new customer for sure. read more

I moved to Waldwick about 20 years ago, and one of the best things about the town was Home Hardware. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff. Very important to me as a first-time home owner. Since they became Ace a few months back, there is a noticeable decline in the customer service. The old staff I see there are fine, but they've hired several new folks, and I had one tell me recently about an item I purchased which was marked one price on the shelf, but rang up at 33% higher, "I don't make the price changes so I don't know what to tell you." Not, I'm sorry, or, that's our mistake, or anything resembling a courteous response, but just a crappy attitude with a take-it-or-leave-it feel. 3 stars because I'm hopeful that they can self-correct. read more

Great local hardware store. I tend to stop in here on Sunday since they are open until 3. They have a really good selection of items and the staff are very helpful. read more

One of the best local hardware stores you'll come across. It's clean, well organized, has a great selection of stuff, and the prices are fair. Add to it that they are actually open on Sunday (which is unheard of in Bergen County) and you've got a winning combo! The service is really hit or miss depending on who you get. I've had both incredible service and really poor service here. Try to seek out the girl in her 20s. She might not know everything but she works really hard to get you everything you're looking for and will find things out for you if she doesn't already know the answer. I've come here to find some basic stuff before and left empty handed but for the most part they'll have most things you'd expect from a local hardware store. Definitely support them and try them first before heading over to Home Depot for everything else. read more

Better than the big box home centers. Service with a smile. Questions answered correctly.

I never write reviews, but feel compelled. Nowadays, customer service and consumer satisfaction seems like a fairly tale. We have become oblivious to human assistance. Home Hardware is the best bar none. A local hardware, plumbing and garden supply co. The guidance on my plumbing needs and new Weber Grill is priceless. Debbie and James, we're so helpful in relieving me of my uncertainties. All projects DIY. Highly recommended. read more

They are always polite , professional and helpful They will go out of their way to assist.

I have been to Home Hardware several times in the last 6 months. Mostly for small things, a snow shovel and salt, garbage can, copies of keys, wall anchors and additional hardware, etc... Every time I need something the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They always seem to know their stuff, and aren't looking to nickel and dime you. Most recently I *thought* I needed a fitting/adapter for a natural gas hookup for my outdoor grill. I brought in the hose I had, spoke with one of employees, and he said that he didn't think I needed anything and that I probably had 'X' (which he showed me an example of) and just needed to do 'Y' and didn't try to sell me on any other solutions that I wouldn't have needed. I said what should I do if that didn't work, and he said 'take some pictures of what you have at home, come back in, and we will figure it out.' He was 100% correct that I didn't actually need anything and with the info he gave me I was able to get everything working. Will definitely continue to shop their for my hardware needs read more

The feel of a mom and pop owned shop. Small, intimate but has anything you need. I will come here any day over a large Home Depot. The staff are so helpful and will take the time to explain the differences in tools, paint brushes, cleaning products or whatever you need. They will price match any item you may have found at a Lowe's or Home Depot which may be higher $$. They also have paint, flowers, gardening supplies, Weber grills, and you can fill up your gas tank out back. Bonus they are open Sunday's. read more

Been going there for years. Great service and very well stocked. Just ask for Rick he loves to negotiate and knock off a few bucks. read more

Love this place! It's like an old school hardware store, so much more character than the corporate behemoths (Home Depot, Lowe's). Love all the middle age / old guys that are happy to help you. SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS! read more

Awesome local hardware store. The guys know their stuff and are very helpful. I have been there for a variety of different home projects and repairs and they have always had what I needed and helped me find the right tool or product to get the job done right. read more

Great staff and very helpful. Prices are reasonable and they have most everything you need from a hardware store

I really meant to write this review a few months ago. I went to Home Hardware after I'd been sold the wrong tool to cut some thin metal hooks at a large chain store in town. The gentlemen at home hardware didn't try to sell me another tool, but rather they cut the hooks for me -- free of charge. It was such a nice gesture! I returned today after realizing a stool I had assembled from my daughter was missing a single 'non-standard' screw. Again, the great staff at Home Hardware helped me right away with a smile. I didn't even think to go to the chain store for this, even though it's closer to my home. Thanks for being a great local shop! read more

The number of people working in the store is seemingly always plentiful. While several of the male service staff have been helpful, I received rude and abrupt answers from two of the women. The location makes the store quite busy and convenient. read more

I live nearby and went to the store on a Friday. I waited my turn at the front desk and, when called upon, asked if someone could help me find an item. The woman at the front desk said loudly, what? I then repeated myself. In a short tone, she then said she could look up the item and tell me the aisle. I asked nicely if someone could help me pick out the item in the aisle because I was not sure what to get, already embarrassed. She pointed to the line and said no that they were busy. I am an older woman and was there among mostly men. I felt frankly humiliated by this clerk. She could have easily said, of course, someone will be with you after the line dies down. Or something, anything, kinder. I have never posted about a business before, but feel compelled to do so as I have never encountered this sort of poor service. read more

I've been coming here for a few years for all my Weber stuff. They seem to have the best prices for the hard to find things. Sure the big box stores stock Weber, but these guys are knowledgeable on what you need. I went in one day for a part and I was a number off. The guy told me that it didn't make sense for the grill I had and got me the part I needed. You don't get that at other places! The saving grace is indeed that they are open on Sundays, especially if you need propane at the last minute! read more

Love this place. It's like stepping back in time. The helpfulness and knowledge of the men here, and the convenience, make it worth paying a few pennies more than at the big stores. read more

Great place with knowledgable, helpful staff. They helped me fix an aircraft sunscreen in leas than 5 minutes!

This place is fantastic! Knowledgeable staff and very friendly! They always have what you need and give great advice.

I came to get a flag pole & a pole holder thing that mounts on to your house. They were super friendly and helpful. I feel like they have a good selection too. Not much else to say because I only went for that but it just made me wish we still had a hardware store in the town I live in. I would totally rather buy from a small business like this than a big box store. They were fully stocked too. read more

Great local hardware store. Though it appears small, they tend to have everything you'll need with friendly, knowledgable staff. Plus they're open til 3pm on Sundays! read more

I have been a regular customer here for many years. It's run by mature responsible intelligent men, that know the store inside and out and they truly WANT to help you. They make smart and sound recommendations for any problem(s) you may have. They keep plenty of employees at the front counter to maintain a great checkout experience for their customers. They keep an accurate inventory so they are rarely out of anything you want. (Can you say this about "home centers"? - NO !!!!) I think most prices are competitive and if I'm paying 5-10% more, I don't care - I'm very happy and content to give them my business and watch them thrive !! I can be in and out in less than 10 minutes, unless I care to browse, which I also do !!! read more

Local hardware store has just about everything. Found things I couldn't find at the big box stores. Their people know how to do things and are happy to share. read more

Great local hardware store that has everything you need for a small home project and exceptional help who can assist you with whatever you need. Big kicker ? Open on Sunday's in Bergen county which is huge. They also have a paint section and grills and propane department. read more

Ordered a Weber 3 burner Genesis 2 from here with the igrill 3. Came into the store Tuesday got it assembled and delivered by Friday just before Father's day. The best part was it was free assembly and shipping. They were very nice and helpful staff, couldn't as for better service. read more

Nice atmosphere and people are very friendly (when you can get someone). They are too busy on the weekends for the staff they have.

Cool little place. It reminds me of my hometown hardware from home. I like to come here from the quick little things, or on Sunday's when all the others are closed Or to get my BBQ gas refilled. Sometimes I like to just walk the store looking at the good stuff they have. read more

Waked around this place looking for some items. It looked like an old boys club and a woman alone needing some help didn't warrant any response. Not friendly, or helpful, nor well laid out. read more

Home Hardware is amazing! They Always have what I'm looking for and their service can't be beat! They'll show you right to the item you're looking for - no pointing down the aisle and carry it to your car for you. read more

Ma & Pa shop, If im in a jam and need some hardware right away i would come here. the folks are not really friendly, but are willing to help you.I usually go to big chain stores. I only come here only on Sundays because other stores are not open around here on Sunday. read more

Thank your lucky stars that you have no competition on Sunday. However, I would go anywhere else the remaining six days of the week. The staff act like angry wives when they are serving you, but are glad to over charge for each and every one of their products. My fault for not picking up my hardware needs on Saturday. Your fault for your attitude. read more

Much more pleasant than going to Home Depot. Personalized help. Open Sunday (unlike the two nearest Home Depot stores).

Went there a few months ago, picked an item from their shelf and lined up at the cashier, but this female clerk behind the counter called upon a customer standing behind me to come first so she can help him first. Looked like she personally knows this person behind me, she's directly talking to him only, not even looking at me in the front of him, but he refused to be called first because he doesn't want to make this situation awkward. She kept on saying to come first several times even without asking me, and the person behind me kept on saying he was not in a hurry at all! Finally that man reluctantly came to the front and made me wait. As if she makes the rules in this store, and I don't even exist. It made me very mad obviously since I came first. Everyone is busy, and even kindergarteners know how and why they line up. I decided not to go to this local store again, even though I know it is better to use local shops instead of big companies but because of her attitude never again and will tell others to go elsewhere, too. read more

This is THE first place to shop. I've been going there for over 40 years and those guys have all the answers and the best prices. Why waste the gas going out to the highway? They treat you like friends....because they are! read more

A great neighborhood hardware store. Supurb selection. Top notch service.

Like going back in time, only better. You get amazing service here. There's always at least four knowledgeable, helpful people at the counter. What a contrast with the box stores. read more
