I went in Lowe's to pick up a robot vacuum I had ordered online. It was a Christmas gift to my aging mother. The weather that day was pouring down rain and windy. I was worried about the appearance of the gift if it got too wet so I asked her if they had a shopping bag to protect from the rain. She said the robovac won't fit a regular sales bag but maybe a trash bag she had. It was about the size of a kitchen trash bag but wouldn't fit. She knew the weather outside was bad and I had told her it was a gift to my mother. Alice then looked and found a large plastic leaf bag. It fit luckily, thanks Alice. This kind of individual service and attention is rare nowadays but lucky for Lowe's and it's customers, they have Alice in Returns and Pickups. read more

After five months of calling installation services AND going into the store asking for help (and them having me call another number), I finally asked for a refund. They wanted me to sign an NDA in order to get my refund. I told them they had not conducted any service, so I wasn't signing anything. I simply wanted my money back for the installation. After a year, hours upon hours in the store and on the phone asking for help, I have gotten nothing but the run-around from Lowe's. They took my $500 and ran. When you go in the door, there's usually one or two people standing to greet you and ask you if you need any help.. But the item was unavailable at my local Lowe's - so I opted for the next closet location - in Manassas. I pulled into one of the pre-marked spaces out front for curbside pickup. I thought I had specified curbside pickup, but my order stated the item was in a "locker" inside for pickup. All that I needed to do was to pay for my installation for the stove that was recently purchased. I was on the phone for about 30 mins and passed around 3 different times with no help. I then went into the store and waited for over an hour to be waited on and the person had to call the manager to get it right. Unreal and with no apology for long wait. One hour and 30 minutes wasted which should have taken maybe 5 minutes. Then with all the fees that were charged it was almost the same cost as the stove. read more

Lowes has a deal if you buy one of three Craftsman Items for $99 you get one of a set of 7 items for free. One of the items in the to buy list it says V20 13 inches String Trimmer (Item number is included) Guess what, the item number and the description does not match. The Item number is for a V20 10 inches string trimmer. So I asked... "As a customer I don't know what the item number is, I go by the description and as the description is promising me V20 13 inches string trimmer can I get that." The agent called a manager and the lady said that I was right Lowes should honor that and asked the agent to sell me that but the system did not accept the item number for the 13 inches trimmer so she call called the store manager, his name is David, for price override. David looked at the advert and did not care at all and said to me "I don't care what the description is I go by item number and based on item number I am not going to sell you what is in the description." I said to him that by putting that description Lowes is promising to sell me that but you refusing to honor your advert you are not honoring your promise." He said to me he does not care about description and was unfriendly and sort of irritated from my question and left. I went to Lowes the second day and was curious to see if they fixed the description guess what no they did not fix it. The company they used cut all the copper out from under my sink and put a bunch of flex tubing in and it looks like shit and the took a piece out that I'm going to have reinstalled and man am I mad. Can't go wrong with Lowe's. Great location in that it's literally across the street from Home Depot. The staff is helpful and they're knowledgeable. I use their website to figure out what they have in stock before I visit, and rarely do they ever have a shortage of anything. What makes Lowe's stand out from its competitor across the street is the discount to Veterans. Lowe's does not have a limit to how much you can save, while Home Depot caps it at $50 per purchase. I saved hundreds of dollars shopping at Lowe's, and they'll even match Home Depot's prices and also give you the 10% on top of that. I couldn't believe the lack of customer assistance at the Lowe's in Manassas today. Every employee I asked for assistance was terribly annoyed with me interrupting this standing around time. I was attempting to buy a piece of pane glass 12"x36" the Lowe's website had 16 available, but none could be found by the employee in that department. She tried to call the Lowe's in Chantilly and to my surprise I thought she called a foreign country, she explained the situation to the person on the other side 3 times, they never seemed to "get it" so I thanked her for her time and departed. We recently had a bathroom remodel from Lowe's Home Improvement in Manassas VA. It was the worst experience ever. It was a $32000 upgrade. It took 4 months to complete the job and all the funding had to be paid up front. The first contractors were unresponsive and the project leads from Lowe's had no idea what was going on. The first contractors were fired, had constructed the plumbing and electric wrong based on the plans. The second contractors came in, took two weeks from Lowe's to get approved to start and used one contractor to complete the job which took 4 weeks longer. I have contacted Lowe's for compensation and have not received a final settlement almost 5 months later. I would not recommend any type of home upgrades from Lowe's. Buy the items and have your own contractor do it. Completely dissatisfied with the process, the unprofessional manner of customer service and the lack of support. Terrible job. read more

Working with Lowes in Manassas has been the worst experience ever! my husband and I ordered a new front door with sidelights in Aug. The door has 4 glass panes which were supposed to be textured glass, matching glass on the sidelights. in October when the door arrived it was the right door wrong glass. I called Lowe's to speak with the young lady that placed the order, she wasn't available so the manager on duty spoke with me, he indicated he would look into this and call me back. 48 hours later still no returned call. I called Lowe's, asking to speak with the young man, he's busy they said but he will call you back. 2 hours go by when he calls to tell me that unfortunately the door isn't sold with that glass. Really now I replied, funny you have that door on display. Long story short no one knows what their doing there. The sales associate confirmed the door is on display, yes that's what we ordered. Next we discover that the threshold isn't correct for my door, we order the threshold and was told 7 to 10 days, 10 days later it arrives and it's wrong! Multiple phone calls to slowed, tried to file a complaint with Corporate to find out there really isn't a corporate you have to deal with the store that you're having problems with. Are you kidding me? Twelve weeks into this and they can't it can't get it right and you want them to resolve it, oh ok! Fast forward 12 days, new threshold was ordered we were told 7 to 10 more days, called this past Tue and was told yes mam it has shipped it will be here on Thur. I called yesterday to discover that it hasn't shipped, lied to again! I have a $5000 door in my garage that we can't instal. Lowes got paid in cash that day, 14 weeks I don't have the product I ordered, no one knows how to resolve it or how the problem started. For your sake don't deal with this store. I have tried twice with Lowe's to buy a Fridge. First time, the contractors flat out said it wouldn't fit because they didn't want to bring it up a flight of stairs. Second time the fridge came with 2 huge dents and the manager of the appliance department didn't offer any type of accommodations/ discounts for the inconvenience of going through this twice. I asked for a refund and have taken my business to Best Buy, who had me in and out in 5min (took an hour to order in Lowe's) and gave an 18 month no interest payment plan ( Lowe's is only 12 months) and paid a little less. We had been going to this Lowe's for years. When remodeling our bathroom, we picked out tiles, fixtures and other materials and supplies. They have a good selection of tiles for floor and wall. They also have a good selection of bathroom fixtures and even more online. Precious wanted to create her own vanity so she sat down with John and went over all the options. It came in about two weeks. In ordering the tub, Precious wanted a whirlpool tub, and they have a display for Jacuzzi brand tubs. When Precious requested one of those, the dude told us that he wouldn't recommend that brand because a lot of people had returned them cracked. He recommended an acrylic tub that was sturdier. One time we had to return an item that was damaged. We didn't notice the damage until we had it installed so we had to pay someone to uninstall it and then install the new one. It cost us a couple hundred bucks, but Lowe's paid for it. I didn't expect that. In completing this project we have come into contact with several employees, and they have all been very helpful and patient. There's one senior citizen at the cashier, and she's a joker. Buying Appliances? Not here! I purchased a glass stove top. Lowes arranges a contractor to measure your kitchen cabinets to be sure appliances fit. Cost $35 which is fine, but Lowes did not follow the measurements and sent us a stove top that was too small. The installer recommended to add a trim at Lowe's cost since they did not follow the measurements. The Installation manager of Lowes ignored the request for two weeks. Meanwhile we are without a stove. The manager finally ordered the trim after we called Lowes Corporate. Then he ordered the wrong size trim and had to re-order after another call to Lowes Corporate. Six weeks later, still no trim. We called Lowes and cancelled. Without a stove for two months due to Lowe's incompetence. We are taking all our remodeling purchases to Home Depot from now on. I cannot even give them a 1! Giving them a single start is poorly representing their work ethic. This company was providing a delivery of lumber to my neighbor's home; we live in the same corner of the townhouse community. Their driver did not step up to my door and knock, but proceeded to deliver the lumber and caused hundreds of dollars in damage to my lawn. Granted townhouse homes don't usually have the beautifully manicured lawns, but my lawn was maintained by me, and mowed by the HOA-selected landscape company. Lowes, not Home Depot, caused this damage- so take this as a positive tribute for Home Depot on Liberia Avenue. Anyway, Lowes replaced my damaged grass in swaths of sod. That's fair. They told us to water the lawn 2-3 times a day but not during the hottest time of the day; that's fair too, and we did that. Four (4) weeks later, the lawn had some green grass, even though the first 3 weeks it was brown due to the hot and humid weather. I finally picked up the sticks and string that demarked the area as a no-walking zone, even though the neighbors aren't usually great about that anyway. The lawn was back to being green and lush at that, and then the landscaping people mowed it down like they were supposed. My HOA-selected landscape company did what they were supposed to and I have no problems with them, because the grass should have been able to recover. It did not! Lowes on the other side of town is now playing games with us for reparations to my lawn that I personally had to see 3 years in a row and tell people to stop trampling. Lowes has failed to properly repair my yard with grass that is stable and healthy for my lawn. Lowes does not believe in proper customer service or corporate social responsibility. If you are shopping at Lowes, you are doing your neighbors a great disservice. read more

Let me start by saying I, typically, enjoy shopping at Lowe's when I can help myself by running in and grabbing what I need. They have good inventory with quality products. However, the Manassas location proves to be an exercise in frustration any time I have to ask for help or return an item. I am typically greeted with an attitude because I interrupted a personal conversation they were having with another employee or interrupted what they were doing on their phone. I am then treated like hot potato. If they spent as much time and effort helping me as they did tying to find someone else to help me, we would all be happier! My most recent experience (in Manassas) involves asking how to get a warranty part for a cabinet, with a lifetime warranty, I purchased six years ago as part of an entire kitchen remodel. The lady working in the kitchen cabinet department kept telling me that I did not purchase my cabinets from Lowe's because she has been there 17 years and would have remembered me. I assured her several times that I remembered exactly where I purchased the cabinets and she kept telling me I was wrong. All I wanted was to know how to get a replacement bracket that had broken on one of my cabinets. I'll spare you the rest of the story and suggest you visit the Lowe's in Gainesville or find a locally owned hardware store and rediscover how rewarding great customer service can be. read more

My experience with the flooring dept at Lowes Manassas is less than meh. I paid for the flooring and install on Sep 13, 2020. As of today, Oct 7, 2020, there is still no delivery scheduled for the materials. Two calls to the delivery dept today were disconnected or hung up. I called flooring and was on hold for 23 minutes until I gave up and hung up. I wouldn't rely on Lowes Manassas flooring if you have a major project as I do. Ran in here after lunch next door to buy a new kerosene heater for my boyfriend. His house is oil heated and oh so super expense to heat that way so he was using a kerosene heater to keep the upstairs warm instead. I was unaware that this was a seasonal item and had wandered a few isles before asking for help. The employee was able to point me in the right direction right away and even walked enough of the way down to be able to tell me what isle they were on. Picked out a heater and was on my way to check out. The store overall was fairly neat and as clean as I think a hardware store can be. I'm not a professional so I don't spend a lot of time in hardware stores but they seem to have you covered on any area of home repairs that you might need. The man at the check out line was polite and helpful in asking if a wanted a protection plan for the heater. Asked me if I needed help getting the heater to my car as well which was nice. read more

If I could give 0 Stars I would. We have been to this store multiple times and are consistently unable to ever find an associate to assist with the department we require assistance. Most recently I waited 20+ minutes on 2 separate occasions for the Millwork to attempt to purchase a door which could not be bought online only to have to leave empty handed both times because some how all staff who are trained in this department decided to take long at the same time. It's an epic failure in management and customer service as there were a line of 6 customers who were all waiting for service and all left to take their money elsewhere.
