    Giant bags of some good-looking mulch

    Great service! I decided to be an adult and purchase some mulch for the first time in my life. Unfortunately, they only had super-fine mulch available for curbside pickup on the website and no one in the area was shipping mulch. Based on the "popular times" information on Google, it looked like foot traffic was the lowest on Tuesday mornings right after opening. So, I donned my mask and gloves and headed to ACE at 8:00! All the mulch was stacked outside, so I was able to look at the options. Each was clearly labeled with a number for the cashier. I went straight to the cashier and ordered four bags. (All employees were wearing masks and the store had clear instructions for social distancing.) The credit card system accepts touchless payments, so I was able to use my Apple Watch to pay without having to rummage around in my wallet. (It did take a few tries for it to scan properly, though.) They asked if I needed some help loading the bags of mulch in my car. I felt a bit bad saying yes, but I knew I would end up struggling and touching everything if I tried to do it myself. Shoutout to ACE employee Amy who grabbed the four giant bags of mulch and loaded them into my trunk for me! I definitely appreciated her help.

It truly makes me wonder if they provide any training to their staff at all. To make the shopping experience even worse the local Harbor Freight sometimes plays rap music over the store speakers which I'm sure doesn't appeal to every one in the store. There have been multiple occasions when I've asked an employee where to find a product and they don't seem to know where things are in the store. This most recent visit I was looking for a magnified fluorescent light fixture that mounts to a tabletop. The person I asked pointed to a section and said that's where their all of their lighting is . I told him that's not where I found it last time and that I'd already looked there this time and it wasn't there. He ignored what I said and repeated that all of they're lighting Products are in that one section. I looked around the store some more and finally found the place where I had found it before- not in the lighting section. There was a tag for it on the Shelf but they were all sold out. At least I knew I wasn't crazy . And once again I knew that most of their employees are not interested in being helpful. Again I love Harbor Freights products and prices, but when you visit you're pretty much on your own.

They trapped me in a "blame loop" with DoorDash and refused to provide a receipt or even basic answers. They insisted I take it up with DoorDash, even after I sincerely explained that DoorDash had already denied the refund without a reason and I needed the store's help to figure out the issue. ​When I naturally got frustrated by their incompetence, the main manager didn't try to solve the problem; instead, she tried to escalate it. She started tone-policing me, telling me to "lower my voice" just to make it look like I was the aggressor, when they were the ones mistreating me. They even called people from the back to "gang up" on me, creating an incredibly awkward and hostile atmosphere. ​Between the gaslighting, the untrained cashiers, and the broken pickup boxes, this store is a total mess. Management is the biggest problem here; they would rather pick a fight with a customer than do their jobs. Save yourself the headache and go to a different location. ​However, I would like to thank, from the bottom of my heart, the employees who go the extra mile to deliver exceptional customer service. Just as there are good people in every company, there are also bad apples. It is unfortunate.
