Aside from a hardware store in Woodstock, NY by us, we just needed other items and more variety that only a big-box offers. This Kingston, NY Lowe's is about a 15ish minute drive from where we were at and checked most of the boxes. For a weekday afternoon, this Lowe's was a breeze. No hoards of people around you and you had the aisles to yourself- but floor sales associates, were almost nil. When you finally got someone, service was helpful and to the point- including the self-check cashier who acknowledged hubs' military discount when she had to swipe a barcode. We didn't have major issues. It's easy-going here and we took advantage of some sale items with a good price tag. I like their products- but as far as on-the-spot service, you gotta search for it here. read more

The store is filthy (even for a hardware store) and 99% of the employees are rude and obviously don't want to be there. They have an okay selection, but most things are pricey and you can probably find something better at Home Depot or Harbor Freight. read more

This is your typical Lowe's store. If you've ever shopped Lowe's before, then you should generally know what to expect.  This is a big box home improvement / hardware staff - a lot of stuff and a little light on staff.  As with most Lowe's - you're generally on your own to find anything. This particular Lowe's was clean, well-organized and well-stocked.  It was basically what I've come to expect when visiting a Lowe's store. Installation service is the WORST. Ordered a washer for elderly dad... installers left saying they didn't have the right hose and for me to go to store and buy a new one... seriously? I've now been back twice.... The don't have the right hose either but SOLD me a one-size-fits-all. Clamp they sold me doesn't fit either ...., What kind of installation do you call this? It's not very common when I need to come to this Lowe's more than once a week, so it hasn't been too often since this has happened. However, when I needed to come in one thing a little less than a week ago, then come in a few days later needing one other thing that we didn't realize we needed until it was too late and we already reached home with an NYSBA toll bridge in the way, my brother, mother and I trudged over to this Lowe's to buy these items on these two days within the past week (once on last Friday and again on this past Sunday) we at first needed some painting hanging brackets (along with tiny screws in the package). On the first trip, we needed something and it was an easy-in/easy-out process. Though I needed to ask several employees to get the right answer - one sending me on a wild goose chase around the store to the ends of aisles they weren't found at - all because the one employee decided he didn't have the chance to answer my question - the other one was more skilled and outside of telling us they were in the aisle after we gave him a few details at about 6:30 pm on 9/24, we found what we needed. (In this same trip, we found the employee to have wrong prices, but by the time it was discovered, my card had been handed to the cashier and was partially rung-up and through and enough I couldn't back down, but thanks to it only being about 30 cents more, I won't complain too much.) We had to make the second trip in for mounting tape this past Sunday because some surge protectors on our walls kept falling off and we haven't had much luck getting screws into our houses' walls to mount them to the walls, so the mounting tape has been a temporary measure. However, after not finding many employees to ask, my brother remembered to look in his Lowe's app - something I keep removing after not finding a situation to use it with - and found the approximate area where it would be. However, what I really was craving on items and price, they lacked a lot of variety of cheaper tapes that came within the dimensions of the tapes we required. Knowing the problems in the first order, when he used the self-checkout (because he had his card on him, something I also don't keep in my Apple Wallet, though I should keep it handy in times like these) he ensured the price matched what was on the shelf before charging his card - as good as this one is. So, please make sure that prices match before handing Lowe's your money or cards. read more

You wait a very long time for help! Then they gave me the wrong part for my bathroom. When I went to return it ( mind you I just spent over $300 using my debit card) the guy said this is not a new part it is used!!! Did return it but the mere accusation took me back. Purchased a gas range and was told by the sales person that my gas company would do the connection. This is far from the truth! I now have to have waited the entire day for someone to answer the phone in the store and when they finally do, they transfer you and disconnet you. Run screaming away. I ordered a grill and had it delivered to my home. The delivery was totally inept and insisted in backing into my circular driveway, missing turns completely after I tried to explain they could turn around and not have to back in. They ended up in trees in my yard. They unloaded in the trees only to find (after they left) that the product was non-functional. I've been on the phone trying to get someone to help me on and off for 5 hours. It's clear I'm going to have to make a trip into the store and speak with someone in person. Horrible customer service, horrible experience. If you are needing delivery of a product please look elsewhere. Good luck getting anyone on the phone. I've let it ring for over 10 minutes with no answer. Do not put up with this as a consumer. That was my last purchase from ANY Lowes. read more

Went in and put $400 worth of bathroom tile on a cart. Not one person helped us with the tile, or was willing to make eye contact. Pushed the heavy cart up to the front of the store to pay and was told we couldn't use self checkout since they didn't have a scanner. He said we needed to go to "Line 12". There were 10 customers in the only checkout open. Meanwhile, there were 5 employees around us just sitting around chatting. And I know they knew we were there since they stepped around us. One star is being Very generous . I had the worst experience in my entire life here. We have been renovating our home since the beginning of Covid we have spent over $45,000 in Lowe's. On June 11, I brought a refrigerator and a stove , the refrigerator was delivered with scratch marks and dented , they offered to replace but at a later date or discount it. I was in the midst of my sons Graduation I took the discount decided to live with it. On Father's Day we were cooking dinner for the family , about 10-15 mins in we heard a crackling noise we go into kitchen open oven the glass was popping inside the oven in my food . I tried calling Lowe's several times no answer I tried calling the one 800 number no answer no luck I went into town to the store and the fella told me they had none , it would be about a week to ten days before I would get one . I ask to speak to a manager he brings a Supervisor With a nasty attitude at that point It was OVER , I had had it , I lost my mind ! This place has gone to hell read more

Purchased Whirlpool washer in Nov. 2017. Purchased 3 year extended warranty. Washer died May 2018. Lowe's does not cover first year-whirlpool does. My Lowe's warranty runs until 2020. Lowe's sold me a three year warranty and I'm paying for the first year for NOTHING! What a rip-0ff! Now I have to call Whirlpool for Service. The Lowe's warranty is not worth the flimsy paper it is printed on. We also purchased a dryer and they charged us for all the parts needed to hook it up, a considerable amount because it's a propane. I had a very bad experience with this Lowes. I purchased an over the counter microwave from this store on November 11, 2017. I also paid for the installation. The microwave unit was in the store and only had to be picked by the installer. Without recounting all of the details the unit was not installed until December 23rd. Yes that is right Christmas weekend. The installer used by Lowes is third party. Totally unresponsive, did not return calls etc. The store staff could not help me. Being a recent homeowner, we have made several trips here in the past few months! I have done many projects in the past months and many different staff have helped us and gave us great advice in how to complete these projects! Our latest project I was looking for a wall sconce that would plug into a wall outlet half way up the wall that would be otherwise useless! I asked a staff if they had plug in sconces which he told me unfortunately they did not. However he told me that a could hardwire a replacement lamp plug into it and essentially make the hardwire sconce a plug in. Let's just say I have no electrical experience and can be apprehensive doing electric projects. Alas this, with the informative directions from the helpful staff it took me less than 10 minutes to complete ! read more

I bought a brand new Samsung refrigerator in November, 2020. On October 5, still within the first year of the warranty, the compressor completely blew. The runaround we were given to schedule a service call Was unacceptable, and the first scheduled appointment was a complete no-show. Two weeks into having no refrigerator, A technician finally came and concluded it cannot be fixed. Now, November 11, nearly six weeks later, I still have no refrigerator, no replacement in sight And have spent countless hours on hold. Go somewhere else for all of your appliances. With Thanksgiving around the corner, our only choice is to buy a new refrigerator somewhere else and sue them. What a waste of time, on top of everything else. Visited Lowe's to replace a broken Kobalt ratchet that's supposed to be covered under a "hassle-free lifetime warranty". They refuse to replace it because they don't have the EXACT same new ratchet, even though they have an equivalent (same handle and drive size with release button). I suspect they don't have the same item since mine is a few years old or because it's part of a larger set. Regardless, this is not honoring the implicit and explicit agreement they made when selling the tool. read more

Zero stars- Lowe's is impossible to deal with - no customer service, endless phone loops, no managers to handle problems. Simple order - Refrigerator purchased on 9/20 of September, stated delivery of 9/29 -- and told on 9/29 as I wait for delivery that it would arrive. Subsequently told that it will not arrive until 12/20. This took hours to get the refund and explanation. I had similar experience with Shade ordering. I think we need to start to demand better customer service /management of orders, and tolerate no less - and avoid those stores that can not deliver. read more

Purchased a washer and dryer set from Lowes; was given a delivery estimate with a four hour window (11am-3pm) the day before items were scheduled for delivery. The day items were scheduled for delivery, they did not arrive. I contacted Lowes at the end of the four hour window and was told they would reach out to the driver and call me back. No return call came. Half an hour later I called Lowes again, they still had not received word from the driver. Thirty minutes more passed and I called Lowes a third time. Still no updates. At 4:30, on my fourth call to Lowes, I was told the truck had broken down and my delivery would arrive at 6pm. 6pm came and went with no delivery. I again contacted Lowes three times (from 6pm-7pm, asking to speak with a manager and twice being disconnected) before I was assured my delivery was on the way. At 7:30 when the delivery STILL had not arrived I spoke with an associate who told me the driver was back at the warehouse; my delivery was never going to be attempted as this would have exceeded the drivers overtime allowance for the day. The representative could not fathom why I had been told my delivery could be made at 6pm. I was never contacted by Lowes about ANY of the delays and had to go through great pains to get updates, in addition to losing 9 hours of my day waiting for an expensive purchase that would never arrive. The order was cancelled. I am still awaiting a refund. read more

The customer service at this store is beyond awful! I ordered a washer/dryer stack unit in August and was told it would be delivered and installed in several weeks. Needless to say, it took four months--some of this is undoubtedly a supply chain issue to be sure. However, after receiving a call every week just to be told the W/D wasn't in yet, yesterday I got a call saying "we are calling to schedule your delivery tomorrow". So great news--the W/D is finally here but bad news--no notice and not sure anybody can be at the house for the delivery. So I ask, "when tomorrow?" The reply, "We'll call you tonight sometime between 6 and 9 pm to let you know." Seriously? So I scramble to make arrangements to get somebody to cover the delivery, which I was told at 8:00 pm last night would be between 11:30 and 3:30 today. This morning, my cell phone rings at 7:30 am--the delivery would be arriving in 45 minutes. What? That's not between 11:30 and 3:30--that's before 8:30 am. Scramble again to get somebody to the house. Delivery guys show up and...they can't install the W/D because they don't have the parts. I was just on the phone with customer service at the store for over 25 minutes, during most of which I was on hold, then got transferred to somebody who knew nothing about what I had just thoroughly gone over with somebody else. I was put on hold again and eventually the line just went dead. Seriously AWFUL customer service. SHOP LOCAL not this awful chain. read more

Probably the worse Lowes in the state. This particular location is run horribly. I have had numerous problems in almost every department while trying to renovate a house in the area. I just left Lowe's and felt compelled to write a review of what wonderful service we had there. The gentleman I asked in the outdoor garden dept was super helpful locating wood pellets for me even though they were probably not in his dept/area and maybe not even out in aisles for customers because it's off-season. But regardless, Ian looked it up on the computer to confirm they had enough bags and then went clear across the store and got the number I wanted in a cart for me (I am visibly pregnant). Such a nice guy and such great customer service. And while we waited for him, 2 different employees saw us waiting around and made sure someone was helping us. read more

Terrible experience with this specific Lowe's , long story short... I spend about 2000 in decking material at the time I placed this order everything was fully in stock. So I ordered all the material and set a delivery date for June 6th. June 6th arrives and no deliver ever came after waiting all day I went to the store in person to find out what happened to my delivery after waiting for over an hour the customer service professional finds out that they didn't have all the items I ordered and took it upon themself to change my delivery date without offering me a partial order delivery let alone even calling me to say the original delivery wasn't coming, which was weird since they had my full order when I paid for it ...interesting .. a day later after consulting Lowe's in person they had the audacity to call me and say I forgot to sign for a partial order that I came in store to "pick up" this never occurred I never picked up anything I diver a two door vehicle how would I be able to pick up a deck order , needless to say again they didn't have my full order and had to reschedule once again, at this point I'm lead to believe that the store was out of certain materials so they broke up my order that was previously paid for to sell in store... finally 3 weeks later my order suppose to be here !! Wait no not again I received a call from Lowe's again saying they are all out of the main part of the deck and don't know when they will be in stock I politely asked if they can get it from a different Lowe's location and their response was "no all the Lowe's are out of this material" that's a pretty bold statement to make with a immediate response to my question so here I am over a month of waiting for a full order that they had in stock when paid for .. terrible terrible experience I hope not all Lowe's locations are like this read more

Went into lowes in Kingston today because an employee there has been treating a friend of mine very poorly every time my friend goes to this store. He makes sly statements about how "Oh here he comes again" or other snickering statements. Now my friend is not from the US originally and has a noticeable accent but is one of the nicest people i know. I spoke to an employee yesterday about the situation but when it happened again today i angrily went to the store myself. No one deserves to be treated less than polite and this was the fourth or fifth time i have heard this. So i talked to Michael the assistant manager who was nice enough. We will see if he fixes the issue. My friend says he will not go back he feels very mistreated. I spend a good amount of money at lowes as did this friend before today. I have been telling everyone about this Home Depot is looking better and better. Dont get me wrong though for every bad employee ghis location has great ones too. Heather, charles, Amanda are a pleasure to work with. But its also true one bad one is the one you remember. Im off to call corporate tomorrow. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Catrina in customer service, tiny lady with a HUGE attitude problem. Lazy and rude, not to mentioning threatening. If she put the effort in to help a customer as she ran her mouth I would not be writing this. In short placed an order online, scheduled to be delivered 4-23, however a day late no big deal, spoke with the store and was told they would receive my package by 4 PM EST and any time after 4 I could come in and pick it up. I arrived at the store 5:41 PM EST, a short 26 minute drive, at the customer service desk provided my Lowe's order number. It was as if I asked them to split an Atom. This is when Catrina, aka Super Mouth showed up, Ms, know it all, whom informed me my item is on the property BUT it is in the stock room and that I would have to come back Saturday. I ask why could she not go in the stock room, locate my 1 box? Not my job, she replied, I commented that she was spending more time lecturing me than if she walked back to the stock room and get my purchase. Well she went off, ordered me out of the store, if I didn't leave immediately she was calling the Police, oddly enough a Kingston Police officer was speaking with the head cashier, I said you do not need to call there is a Police officer right there. She grew more angry, I asked to speak with the manger , she said no, went further into a frenzy, I asked to just cancel my order , she then said will do and went to get another MOD. Finally someone to help whom then informed me my item was not delivered by FedEx. So Little Ms. know it all with a GIANT attitude either lied or just has no clue, but she did make it clear she IS the front end supervisor. What a perfect match for customer service Lowes, Serious coaching is required, If my employee she would be kicking her lunch pail down the road. read more

Went into this store last weekend to purchase smoke detectors . The store was like a ghost town. After endlessly walking aisle to aisle I finally found an employee who directed me to where they were; gone are the days when they would take the time to walk you there Anyway there was a front isle display of 3 models in different price ranges I read the box of the least expensive and decided it was perfect I get up to the register and the price rings up for twice the amount I expected. The cashier Cory who normally works customer service had someone walk over to the display area with my husband and they verified that the entire lot of smoke detectors that we selected ; there had to be an inventory of at least 50 were all mislabeled! They proceeded to perform a return for the mismarked detectors and gave us the lesser quality ones. Corey thought it necessary to remind us that normally he would have to send us to customer service ! Is this guy for real?! We left and as I got in my car I was so furious I called the store and asked to speak to one of the managers. I was told they were in a meeting with each other so I left two numbers for a return call which I never got . The person who took the message was pleasant and commented that they had many issues with Corey and that store policy was to give the item for the price marked in a situation such as ours. I let this go for five days and when I found the time I called corporate twice . They advised me that after the second call to customer service the protocol was to escalate to the stores district manager. I have yet to hear back from this person . For now I Am boycotting the Kingston Lowes and will make it my mission to call the CEO of the company if need be I will follow up with the outcome read more

I ordered home delivery of a refrigerator. When it arrived, I noticed a spot that looked funny, so I touched it, and white paint came off on my hand. It was still fresh, so I asked the delivery person, and he admitted that damage is sometimes handled that way. I was appalled that they were in the habit of being so dishonest and trying to trick customers into receiving damaged merchandise. I called the delivery manager at Lowes and he said the delivery company, XPO, was an independent contractor and Lowes couldn't control what they do. That is simply not true. The delivery company should lose their contract for dishonest behaviour. There are plenty of honest companies who would love a contract with Lowes. The fact that Lowes continues to employ XPO as their representative says a lot about Lowes. As long as XPO continues to deliver for Lowes, I will not make a purchase which requires delivery. I used to feel Lowes was a company I could trust. Now, I'm not so sure that's true. Very disappointing experience. read more

Very disappointing experience with the flooring dept. Waited all day for their contractor to measure for carpet installation and they never showed. We were not informed to expect a confirmation phone call...only to expect the person between 1-5:00. Had we known to expect a call we would have reached out to the store when we didn't hear a peep (to discover that the salesperson typed the wrong number and the installer couldn't reach us). The store manager didn't care that we came up from the city to wait for someone who wasn't showing to no fault of our own. His attitude was way too blasé for us to EVER consider spending money in that store again. You'd think the manager would have the grace to offer a discount or some gesture of consolation...a sincere apology would have been a great start. What a shame. Their motto: "Lowe's, Improving home improvement" Ha! Lowe's, try improving customer service! We will take our business to Home Depot. read more

I go to Lowes over the other big box stores because of the helpful staff and stocked shelves. I would probably not buy an appliance or other machinery from any where else. And if I ever need to return something, there is never a hassle. Also, they still give military discount. read more

We bought a very expensive fridge from this Lowe's. Took FOREVER to find someone to actually help us. There were only a few workers for a massively sized store. That's the first part. On delivery day, our fridge was delivered by two totally inept guys who clearly didn't want to get any work to get fridge into our older house. We called our contractor to remove door stops so appliance would fit. Still, the men dragged their feet. We told them they should remove old fridge FIRST, which they did not do -- this, of course, later caused problems when trying to get new fridge through the door. I then gave them the piece our plumber left that was necessary to hook up water, but they claimed they couldn't screw the part on -- Meanwhile fridge has massive dent on upper left and front door also dented. Have not heard a peep from manager. So not only did we pay thousands for a fridge -- we paid for a carpenter and a plumber. Will NEVER buy an appliance from Lowe's again. Worst service ever and having just finished a massive renovation that is saying alot. read more

My first experience with Lowe's last last spring, when I attempted to purchase two storm doors for our home. I went in three times to try to get correct information about various doors, custom sizing and delivery. Each time, I had trouble finding anyone to assist me and when I did, I got different stories from each salesperson. I gave up and went to a small, local hardware store where the manager answered all my questions in detail and delivered precisely what I wanted, free of charge. This past week, my husband and I decided to purchase a high end gas grill and several large shrubs. We had the same experience at Lowe's as I did last spring...the nursery told us they did not coordinate deliveries with other departments. The salesperson we managed to find "thought" that delivery "might be $65" to deliver to our home, less than 5 miles away. He wasn't sure and said we had to purchase something before they could estimate a delivery price. Nobody was in the grill area. My husband and I separated, trying to find a salesperson who could assist us. My husband then went to the front desk and was told someone would be there to help us in 5 minutes. After waiting a half hour, we left and went to a locally owned garden center. We had a salesperson assist us within seconds after walking through the door. He was very knowledgeable about his stock of gas grills, helped us make a decision & quoted us the same prices as Lowe's, except delivery was free. Plus he agreed to coordinate delivery of shrubs from their nursery w/ a fully assembled grill, at no extra charge. read more
